Innovation is good as long as it is meaningful and relevant to the needs of the target user/market.
Seriously can’t expect a camera to have better spec than the R at this price point.

I agree Jcax44, I was speaking in a larger context of canon. Even their CEO has stated they haven't been innovating.

I have an 80d with L glass and various other EOS mount lenses. I wanted to move to full frame without moving to a new ecosystem or jumping up to a $3000 camera. My RP is on its way and like the 80d I am sure it will take great photos plus provide me with great memories. I would not be surprised if canon has another camera for this line in the works that is above the R.

...and if the person is a PHOTOGRAPHER upgrading from a Canon 6D Mark I? Just say that you're inclined to be biased and call it a day. Anybody who takes the time out to voice such disdain that they didn't invest in is a straight hater. Just like every other reviewer you're talking about who the camera isn't for instead of who it is for. Carry on.

Not a hater, not telling you you shouldn't purchase the RP, just explaining the RP is another reminder that Canon isn't innovating and it's frustrating as a Canon shooter. Appreciate your comment and point of view regardless.

But of course you are. While I can agree wholeheartedly that the RP isn't for everyone including yourself, it's grossly irresponsible of you unless you have a vendetta against the company to suggest that there isn't a market for this camera for anyone. I bought the camera and am in the process of evaluating for myself, but I knew exactly why I bought it. Ask the target market for this camera what DPAF and I bet you they look at you like "Huh!?!" Go the target market for this camera and tell them that it doesn't do 24fps and watch their reaction. Try putting YOUR needs and requirements to the side for a change and if you're going to give your opinion, it doesn't hurt to say that "...this isn't the right camera for ME."

All I can say is I went from Canon to Sony and never looked back. Canon is years behind Sony in image quality, auto focus, features etc. I was tired of waiting for Canon to innovate. Thanks for your honest factual view Todd. Great video!

Ziggi Mon Some cameras are too technically advanced for a small portion of photographers. Best for you to stick with Canon and let us professionals use Sony.

Then we can agree to disagree. I stated several times how much I love Canon and my Canon products.
Congratulations on your new camera. I hope it brings you years of enjoyment.
