I used to make "hinges" for broken plastic buttons etc with a small piece of solder braid. You can melt it into each side, the button and the button mounting surface, with a soldering iron. Works great as the solder braid mesh sucks the plastic into it, making a very good connection, and its flexibility makes a perfect hinge! I;ve done this a hundred times, and its worked excellently every time.

I hate the plastic tac switch pushers, they slowly bend with heat and time.
Sometimes i have had to glue squares of cardboard on to the pushers.
I see a lot of these TV/vcr combos, the biggest i've seen was a 27" Magnavox with DVD also, Funai made set.
An admiral job getting this war wearing set working again Jordan. Wasn't sure if you were going to replace the tac
switches or not since they really wear out inside their body. Great fix on this crappy set.

That Zenith was OEM by Orion as the OSD and VCR mechanism give it away. In my opinion Orion built sets are pretty cheap but better then Funai in my opinion.
For an extra measure I would have actually programmed up a universal remote control and given that to them as well because of this ever fails again which I have a feeling it will at least they will have a remote control to fall back on
Yep. Something I mentioned. This death was the result of carelessness of roadies. Shes not gonna let anyone else handle this set anymore.
Ahh.... the black plastic crap era. How many units like that did I fix......
I’m not patient enough to do any of this stuff. That would drive me nuts and I would probably just lose my cool trying to fix this.
