Every damn time! The front landing gear has three positions - THREE! Stowed, landed normal-weight, and landed after dropping the APC off! Always the APC weight landing position is missed! Apart from that, it looks damn good!
Yeah for this much money I would have liked at lease a gear up and down option for when you put it on the stand, honestly once I get a large resin printer I may just make my own drop ship and sell this to a collector.
This thing is massive. Agree that it would make a great part work with some cool moving parts and sounds. Very sweet!

a company called gale force 9 makes alien figures for wargaming that look like they would be the perfect scale for that kit. they also make the queen and power loader.

I cancled mine because the rear missle pod arms look way to short. I think the rear arms look longer than the front arms anywhere but on this model...they look about equal and I can’t unsee it.
the front wingspan is a tick under 12" and the rear is right around 14"

To add all the articulation and lighting that you want would skyrocket the price because of all the engineering, gearing, weight, and stability issues. THATS WHY THE AOSHIMA AND CINEMACHINES ARE THE SIZE THAT THEY ARE!
VERY true, this is a nice very large static model and that is all but I am overall quite happy with it.
Never lit any my light ups ..if I do its just to show some 1 .. if I had a choice between light up features and none ..if the price was diff I'd buy the non light up .. nice review love the piece .. got the smaller version with car ..plus the limited edition hcg car
I preordered mine i think like a year and half ago! i get mine on the May 14. been waiting along time for this. I have the Sulaco and Nostromo and yes these things are heavy! There is always the Halcyon 1/72 scale model but super small comapared to HCG one.
yes it was a long wait but I am very happy with it, should make a nice addition to the awesome collection you have!
Great review. I agree with your rating of 8 out of 10. For the price it would have been nice to see an art box, a Metal edition plaque, any lighting (Nav lights, landing lights, engine lights, cockpit lights) maybe a Spunkmeyer/Faro in the cockpit. No idea why the stretch limo APC doesn't fit into 😂the bay either. However, that being said it is a nice static model and will be a centerpiece to anybodies Aliens collection. I bought this as well because if I changed my mind I didn't want to pay secondary market prices later. If the exclusive edition is still available for purchase.... yeah to get the APC is a no brained in my opinion as well.
Thank you for the kind words, I tried to be both objective and subjective, but yeah it is a damn fine display item and the FOMO was strong with this one for me, would have been kicking myself if I didn't snag one.
Beautiful model, but man, I wish you could retract the landing gears for flight mode. And be able to fit the car inside.
Yeah I agree, I have it in flight mode but I would like to be able to remove the landing gear and put cover plates on too!
Thats one awesome ship, but it seems needlessly heavy.
I dont think it needs to be solid, maybe if was a bit more hollow and therefore lighter they could have made it moveable, i.e. the rocket pods/wings and the landing gear.
Apart from that though i absolutely love the scale of it 😎👍🏻
Agreed, a bit lighter with some articulation would be welcomed, but I think they thought long on how many people would want to display it closed up and decided for simplicity and not adding hinges for a smoother look, it does display very well.
Is i5 just me or d9es the tailplane look wonky? For the price you'd expect better build quality. I have the original Halcyon model kit and built end result will be far better, and those can b3 picked up for $100.
I think it looks ok but I will have to get my Aoshima out to compare.

I have that one as well and agree, it is, this one is just huge but otherwise a little lacking.
THE LANDING GEAR IS PUT ON WRONG!! RIGHT SHOULD BE LEFT AN LEFT SHOULD BE RIGHT. $1500+ BUCKS FOR A SCREW-UP LIKE THIS-NO TO MENTION THE WARPED CANOPY GLASS AND INABILITY TO PUT APC INTO CARGO HOLD.

For that money I would expect it to be fully poseable, have alternative retracted landing gear for flight mode, fully lit and have a detailed cargo bay interior with an APC that actually fits inside!
HCG could have made this an epic model but have missed by a mile 🤷♂️
@clungepoker6749 FOR SURE! Funny thing is that I find many large scale replicas to have serious detail and feature issues that their smaller versions dont.
@lykeromeo3213 If I was going to buy a model that took up this much real estate I would expect it to be perfection with all the bells and whistles, I have the Aoshima diecast 1/35 dropship and APC as well as the 1/35 Halcyon plastic model kit which I built years ago... bigger does not always mean better.
for $1500, not going to be able to do that
yeah, it's at a price point where even serious fans would have pause, unlike the Tomy 1.350 die-cast Enterprise at $700 which is a much easier pill to swallow.
Honestly, listening to you complain about the weight was a bit annoying. Like, we get it, its a little heavy... but 25 pounds isn't much, maybe pick up a set of weights.
