Literally bought this exact lamp at our local Goodwill yesterday hoping I can style it in our modern home. Looks like ill be picking up some rub n buff! thanks for the video
I’ve used Rub n’ Buff and have tons of the colors! They work great on ornate picture frames, too! Completely changes the look! Love your little lamp! That was a total “score”.
What a great tutorial Valerie! Have never used that product, I just use paints, but it gives such a rich patina. And yes, I remember those floor lamps. 😄❤️
Valerie, I have learned sooooo much from your channel, which I only discovered a few days ago. Seriously, you have such deep knowledge of paint and color - as only a real artist will possess -- that I wonder if you perhaps studied art or painting in college. Because you are exceptionally good at enhancing the beauty of otherwise ho-hum household items and decor to create a new look that I would never imagine. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience. I hope you get a million subscribers.
This comment is just the sweetest! Thank you so much Pat! I really appreciate your kind words and you taking the time to say that! Our channel (my husband and I both help with it) has seen so much growth this past year and we know it's because our wonderful viewers like you. We really do appreciate the support so much. Thank you again for being here with us and being so supportive. I hope you have a beautiful day and wonderful rest of the week! Take care! 💕 Ps. I hope we get a million too! 😉😄
This is fantastic!! I have a lamp that is almost identical that I’ve been hanging on to, trying to figure out what to do with it. It’s a really expensive brass lamp that was my fathers. I just feel that this will update it so much. And I’ll actually use it now. I’m subscribing! (Also loved the pot that you used mortar and moss on!) thank you!!
So funny. My FIL wanted to give me this exact lamp and I told him no thank you because the bright gold was so not my style! Darn, wish I would have seen this before then! Lol! 🤦🏻♀️
Lol! I can totally relate😁 A lot of times I bring things home with good intentions and then never get around to working on them! 😩 The struggle is real! 😆
I actually thrifted the same style of lamp and have been wanting to try this technique. Think I'm gonna give it a shot.😊great job

Yes! It was such a great find! 😍
Wow - it looks great! One question: does the finish come off on your hands at all when you touch it? I want to try this on my lamp.
found the same lamp out one of our goodwills and you inspired me to do the same diy, thank you
Wooo! That's awesome, Mariah! Do it and let me know how it goes. It will totally transform the lamp... you'll love it! 😊

I loved the idea of spray painting it first. I’ve used the product before and a little does go a long way. The lamps came out beautifully.🥰

No topcoat needed?

This might be a solution to hardware that's not quite the right color.
Yes, definitely! I have seen it used on cabinet hardware, door handles, photo frames etc. It's a great little product!
