Wow' I'm surprised the 390 Adventure with cast wheels and stock tires did so well. I wish I lived in Australia, your off road riding is off the charts over there!
Your videos are captivating; your adventures are inspiring! 🌟 How about sharing your strategies for overcoming fatigue and staying fit during those long motorcycle escapades? Can't wait!
Great video. Looks like it'll be a fun run. Could you do an updated video on all your current mods? The format of your original one was great and provided alot of good ideas. Would be good to see where your bike is at now, including the little shonky tricks and mods like the tent pole stand.
Yes, but it has always been doable on a bike. Now they have removed it completely to replace it. I'll be going up again soon to re-route that section of our ride.
@@ShonkyProductions Im not 100% sure which way you came in from but, I be done the main range loop a few times and it’s generally well maintained. You basically have three ways that I know of, one I think might be the way out you too via Telegherry, the other is the long way around but there are some temperate rainforests bits that even in fire season are wet and slippery and the last one I haven’t explored and it comes out at Monkerai. There are heaps of walking tracks that go through all different areas but, not much that I know of that would be passable without a trials bike.
@@ShonkyProductions awesome! Good to hear! I’m sure you got plenty of helpers but if your ever down port Mac way I’m always down for a recon mission and free through the week when not fifo. Happy to venture down to that beauty country too! Thanks for sharing
at 15:14 when you stopped at the river crossing- curious of the 890 skid plate sustained any damage from the off? Looks like the wing bit was dented where the cutouts are, which is right where the fuel tank outlets and stop cocks are.
I can see what you're talking about, and it does look like that on the screen. But, it is not damaged. He has a alloy bashplate that protects the bottom of the tanks. I think it's just an optical illusion caused by the mud that makes it look dented.
Yes, it was a greet weekend checking out the routes. I still need to do another few days up there before the ride in October. It would be great of you could make it over!
Which rear tyre do you run with the scorpion up front? And how do you find them on road? Tossing up between the knobby scorpion or the str version since I commute on the bike too
The Pirelli Scorpion Rally (knobby) is the best front tyre I've ever used. It should last 5-8000 on our bikes, but I'm still testing longevity. As for rear tyre... That depends on how much you commute versus how much, and what kind of off roading you do. I will try. Dunlop 605 next.
Love that region from Bulladehlah to Gloucester, so many cool roads / trails to explore. Cheers for the up-load Sean 😎👍

Hi Bill, yes that surprised me too. He did really well considering this was his first real adventure ride.
Great looking ride! And great pub
Yes, it was a great weekend all round!

Thanks mate. That's a great idea for a video... I'll see what I can do.
@@ShonkyProductions Thank you!
The final loop was a top weekend! However I kind of wish you left some of these stitch ups in there 😂

Thanks, and great idea for another mods video. I've got one last mod on its way and once that's installed I'll definitely do an update video.
Looks great! Bit far for me to ride from Sunshine Coast for this one.. looking forward to seeing the event build up and event story.
Looks good Sean. I'm glad you're giving Dan some extra practice before the KTM Rallye too, he needs it 😂
Thanks Mal, he definitely needs practise with the GPS. He got himself seperated from the group and totally lost in the wrong direction on Saturday! 🤣
@@ShonkyProductions 🤣 He is hopeless 🤣
Say g'day to Alex for me. Love the explore part of riding.
Thanks mate, will do. I also enjoy the exploring part of adventure riding. Makes it feel more of an accomplishment when you arrive at the destination!
Great ride. Day 2 looked awesome 👌. Great to see that old Tenere there too!!
Yes, the old Tenere did just fine.
Another fun filled Shonky adventure...with new blood.
Looks like a blast.
That looked like Frying Pan Road … that bridge has been out for years.
Yes, but it has always been doable on a bike. Now they have removed it completely to replace it.
I'll be going up again soon to re-route that section of our ride.

Wish l wasn’t working away for it. Hope to catch the next one tho

@@ShonkyProductions sweet then. I just bought that bash plate 😅
Hi Sean, as a CRF 300 rally owner, i watch your video’s with great interest. Can you tell me how you bypassed your ABS?

At my riding group, we call it a 'Catalog number trip', where in the end you make a list of all the things you need to replace 😂
Haha... I like it. 👍
FUN.....👍🤪
Hey Sean. How many k’s do you expect to get out of a Pirelli scorpion rally front on the little CRF300L ?
I'd like to get 10,000km out of it, but only time will tell. Heavy braking on tar wears them the most, so I'm trying to avoid that.
Hi Sean, I'm not a Facebooker (long story) , is there another way to find out info on the ride?
Yes, no worries. You can find my email address on my RUclips page, shoot me an email and I'll give you the details.
@ShonkyProductions hmmmm struggling to find the email address anywhere on your youtube page.. thought it would be in the "about" section?
@@richardkenna149 It is in the "About" section. "Business enquiries"
