Ren put an ad on the internet saying, "ROOMMATE NEEDED. I MAKE A LOT OF NOISE.", and Romain, the guy doing the guitar solo, answered. Later on they met Gorran, the bass player, who ended up sleeping on their couch. They each play all three types of guitar (and multiple other instruments) and during concerts they pass their guitars back and forth between songs like omicron covid. Ren originally played the drums when the band required them, until Glenn came on board. Hence, The Big Push. At the end of this set, in a different video, you can hear Gorran say, "Let's go before the police come." and the concert is over. They are currently trying to figure out a way to play together again that fits their disparate locations and schedules.
yeah heard gorran saying on a live he has wife an children in Belgium but that was few months ago so maybe they moved afterwards he also said romaine was back in france for a while but seen he was back in UK writing new songs.@@Codex7777
Someone commented on this video when they posted it asking how they got an outdoor recording to sound so clean. Their answer was simply we have a Ren 🤣
If you watch War PIgs (from the same busking session) there's a moment where you see Gorran with a huge smile and it pans to Romaine and the Ren and they also have huge smiles and you can actually feel the joy they have playing together. Ren said to make these videos (clear out background noise, balance sound) he sometimes had to go note by note for each vocal microphone, each instrument microphone and the mic from the guy filming. The patience to make it meet his standards shows how talented he is in production as well.
Yes. Ren spent hours on the mixing. The drums were on an i phone and then the speakers into their own zoom. Ren really enjiys mixing. Ren and Romain were roomates and Gorran moved in around pandemic time. They have several lockdown streams on Live Nation. Now you need to do Ren and Sam Tompkins Earned it/ Man's World/ Falling
I think the reason why Renegades loves to watch reaction videos. Is because of the feeling we got the first time watching a video, and then watching someone else having that same experience for the first time. Its priceless and sooo enjoyable
The Big Push will always leave you smiling. They are just magical together. As you go down the rabbit hole you will realize how talented they all are, as they will share lead vocal duty and switch instruments. All of their solo projects are special too.
He can also tear the hell out a bass. Also, as you move through discovering Ren you will find that he attracts some of the best musicians and singers around him like a magnet. Ren was on those streets since he was 15, so he has paid his dues.
You haven't met storytelling Ren yet. Probably his most revered genre. The Tales of Jenny and Screech Trilogy, (13 min version puts them in the right order) is iconic and an experience that no one forgets. I'd suggest that before diving in TBP catalog.
I agree. The Big Push is a wonderful world, yet learning all about Ren himself requires seeing his amazing production of the tales of Jenny and Screech and Violet. The three tales are epic story-telling performed by a master of his craft. They call Ren's story-telling talent Bardcore, taking place on this grand Shakespearean stage of Ren's creation. All three songs are originals and Ren's guitar artistry is breath-taking. I promise you will be amazed!
No matter your mood, Ren has something for it. It's never the same. Always expect to hear the unexpected. He's so fresh every time he puts out a video/performance. It's a refreshing energy in today's world
**ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED** congratulations! You have discovered new ren friends The Big Push 😊 they have so many amazing songs, both covers and originals. Strap in! 💜💜
The Big Push are always tight and always a fun vibe. Just a pleasure to watch and listen to. The Charismatic Voice has an interview with Ren in which he discusses recording, mixing and equipment he uses.
Thanks for letting me know, I’d love to check that out and get some inspiration, I’m always trying to improve my own mixes that I crest and use for the backing tracks for my student performances
Just a small part of REN’s story. Ren was born on 29 March 1990, in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales, and was raised in Dwyran,[14] on the island of Anglesey.[5] He taught himself to play guitar by slowing down tracks by Jimi Hendrix and John Frusciante.[15]: 20:11 He dreamed of being a musician and sold CDs of beats he made at home on his PC[5] using Reason[16]: 01:33 when he was 12.[5] When he was 13, he performed live for the first time with a rendition of the AFI song "Morningstar".[15]: 11:02 Ren moved to Bath to study music performance at Bath Spa University.[17] While there, he started a band called Trick The Fox.[16]: 01:45 In 2009 Ren was discovered by Eric Appapoulay while busking one of his own songs.[15]: 34:23 In 2010 he signed a recording contract with Sony Records.[17] Ren went to London with Eric[15]: 35:00 and started working on his debut album with Charlie Fowler, another member of Trick the Fox, at Sanctuary studio in South London. They started writing tracks, touring, and recording. They also posted some tracks and videos to the band's Facebook and RUclips accounts,[18] and Tom Frampton joined the band.[19] Wikipedia.
The only limitations these busking performances had was the quality of the mics and amps. But Ren is meticulous in post production. Ren has music running through his veins. And he is a magnet of other talented artists and musicians. His collaborations are unreal. With his illness and ongoing treatment, he hasn’t been able to do any busking or live shows in so long. I’m sure that is killing him. But he’s making up for it by writing tons of new material, working on his next full length album, and filming a bunch of videos. Everything he does is unique and filled with passion and his love for the craft. Really enjoying your journey!
I think the way to look at Ren is that he started out busking and doing live shows. He mastered that art at the beginning and realized that it plays well in videos too. It makes it all more real when it is a one-take and no autotune. He does play with the overlaying and making his own beats too which is freaking amazing.
Give this guy some more awards right! Bang on mate . If they don’t then they lose all credibility in my eyes Love your knowledgable and empathetic reactions to RENs art
As an independent artist, recognition from the industry will be an uphill battle. He was already snubbed by the Brit Awards, despite having a #1 album in the UK. Not one nomination. But he doesn’t do it for the accolades. You can tell he has a pure passion for creating and performing.
New sub for the Rennercoaster. I double the suggestion for Ren/Sam Tompkins Earned it/Mans World/ Falling. Vocal masterpiece with great guitar improv by Ren
When people are saying one take, it's really one shot. He always does at least several takes then chooses the best one. In the 1st Money Game took at least 137 takes. There's no edits, live audio. MG3 is the exception, it has one cut. He does all post production, and on several busking videos. Ren has explained how meticulous that process is in an interview. Something I've always noticed is that he has such a keen sense of rhythm and timing.
Every member of this band is incredibly talented - I particularly love Romain Axisa's stuff (playing bass here). And every time I see this performance, I have the same thought that you did - Oh, to have been there that day!
These guys are phenomenal. Individually they are all super talented. Together they are magical. They followed this up with War Pigs, which is also highly recommended. Their original songs are also worth checking out 💜💜
FYI on Rens channel he just posted (on the day this vid posted) a SHORT, you could go watch it and it won’t spoil any of your future reactions, it will just let you know what he thinks of content like yours. Respect

Romain Axisa Gorran Kendall Both have their own yt channels. Gorran is busking in Malaga Spain rigjt now and will be doing a gig in France with old band mates. Maaaaaaaate.peach i am so glad you got to this. Thank you for replying personally to my comment on the 1 mill sub clip. This shows you everything this guys has to offer.. so much talent across the board.and obviously having a ball doing it. I knew you would be blown away by this..keep up the great work
As a guitarist interested in his one take performances he has a 3 song opera called "the Tale of Jenny and Screech official Music Video (each song is a one take). Its a tragedy in the classic sense.. Guitar highlight, Ren playing his nylon string acoustic guitar while walking down a staircase..
You hit it on the head when you said “you can tell he’s really having FuN” it’s his pure joy and totally comes through in his unique diverse talent❣️ Really enjoy relistening with you for your reaction😏
The tales trilogy is a fantastic show of his one take story telling prowess. We enjoy seeing you become introduced to his various skills. Look forward to the plethora of things you get to enjoy. We can never experience it for the first time again but it's cool seeing others take it in!
All self taught with the guitar as well. I think I read somewhere he had a lessons and that was it. If you haven’t seen it yet his 1 million subscribers video is a must it could also be really motivating and inspirational for the kids you teach.
Romain has golden fingers for guitar. He writes a lot of his own songs and melodies also. Listen to Romain playing his "75 beats per minute" it's exquisite. Just guitar, no vocals. I love Romain's talent and his music and how he plays with such emotion, it's like he is one with his instrument.
Really enjoying your reactions. Was looking out for you!! Your comments are thoughtful and honest. The Big Push do covers but also have a lot of original songs - I think you’d like them all but I suggest Precious next 😁👍x
I know this is from 8 months ago - but damn I enjoyed your reaction, so HAD to comment. Thanks - that was fun! Great to see the band being appreciated for how awesome they are as individual musicians and as a unit :-)
Easily the very BEST reaction/analysis for this video clip. I have watched dozens of lesser reactions, often from content guys with larger subscriber bases and they do not hold a candle to your breakdowns, interjections, observations and conclusions. Very cool.
Yay, knew he'd get there in the end winning you over with at least one of his pieces, it was enjoyable watching you still on the fence but leaning more & more to one side as you did each reaction. Enjoy the deep dive into the Rabbithole- I'm quite certain now, even despite your initial reservations, that you really won't get bored and amongst them you Will find at least one, if not more, tracks that will go on your listen to again playlist
Your discovery of Sick Boi, Ren, has been my favorite of any reactor. I wish I could hear what you have carried over to your students. I make my mom, 80yrs old, watch your morph and we were both all choked up.
Straight after this they go on to do Black Sabbath's "war pigs" mash up, also try his song "Fire" done when he was with Sony on the "freckled Angel album. Until they parted ways due to his illness, Amicably Ren said.
Most excellent reaction - i love this performance so much and enjoyed watching along with you. Now that you’ve had this Big Push “massage”… it’s time for the 🦶🏻“kick in the face” that is their rendition of War Pigs!! 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Jazz, blues, reggae and a little bit of magic, Ren throws a little bit of everything in the mix! You will hear him scat in a lot of his songs! Really enjoyed this reaction! New sub!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Ren's got ya !! lol.. It's all good got me to ! I think his passion is what I feel and see in him, and you know he has like 160 videos ! So far I have not heard one I have not liked. they all seem to carry messages in them. Even if it is just him expressing living with pain in his life.. Your first reaction I was a little disappointed. Nice to see someone else see what I do and I think many of us do .. I think we have some pretty great stuff coming from REN !!
I love seeing other musicians react to Ren! I love it and it sounds amazing, but I'm not a musician. I love him getting acknowledged for his talent. My other favorite performance is Wade In The Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard. Ren kills it on the bass. And you get to experience Gorran's (bass on this one) vocals! Or check out Bongo Bong or Praise You for a master class on harmonizing. This became my favorite band at 53. Pray they reunite! Check out Romain Axisa solo work. He is the king of melancholy. Or Gorran's solo work (they used to call him the Bob Dylan guy). They are like the Beatles where they are alllll so talented. Thanks for this!
Just been to the City of York an Historical City with 2000 years of history Dating back to Roman Saw some great bands Busking on the Streets. I Looked around the Crowed and All Nationalitys .Fantastic.
Not even close 😂. I’ve really had to eat my words and then some with that one! It’s crazy to think of my first exposure/impression of him with the Fred again mash up. Not knowing anything at all about him! No other songs no other background information. To where now, after trusting the comments and taking a deeper look (which I know I’ve hardly even broke the surface with all he’s done) and seeing my impression of him now. Just wow. Remarkable musician incredible human!
@@peachpreview We don't hold that against you, you know. The willingness to surpass your own negative first impression and take a second look says a lot about your character, man. Love watching your path, and thank you for sharing your thoughts openly! That is why we come to you.
@@peachpreview You seem like such a nice dude ❤ humble and willing to explore and learn. Huge respect for you! I hope you do more The Big Push and also, the guitarist Romain Axisa’s solo work. Check out his own song “Time after Time (live at st Augustine’s) ❤
100% we don’t hold it against you! And it’s always fun to see people who aren’t giving him the highest praise immediately. His writing, singing, rapping, guitar and piano player are top notch. He could definitely be an actor, and he’s an accomplished director. But mostly, his authenticity, empathy, and integrity. These are all the things that make his community love him - and if you claim to see even a fraction of that in a single video, I’d actually question your honesty. Granted, those who start with Hi Ren start out farther along, but that almost feels like cheating 😁 I love watching your journey of discovery so much, thanks for sharing your opinions with us! Ps not sure if you saw that ren posted a thank you to reactors yesterday :) and I’m not sure if you get claimed or not on your ren videos, but reach out if you do. He wants you guys to monetize, I think he has content ID turned on so he can keep track of commercial uses (he got kinda burned by CNN misrepresenting Hi Ren last year - claiming it was promoting suicidal ideation - I’d auto opt into flagging too)
You aint seen nothing yet ... Ren is a musician of at least three generations - simply superb at all he does, and no, i'm not a kiss ass 😅. Something different check out The Warning Evolve live at the mtv vma ❤
Great to see you enjoy that. If you want to respect him as a person, see his 1 million subscriber thank you... ahhh you have seen it, will have a look.
Go to New Orleans- busking is not a solo act. Where the Big Push is busking in this video is Briton UK. That’s where they went to music college. The city had a program that promoted the arts by having an arts district that encouraged street performances.
Missed one in the title 😂 Bugzy Malone DJ Luck, get me through the night. Little bit of luck. Including the guillotine bar in Back to 74 (Jungle 23 " Volcano") ... Tina Turner was "Bi" 😂 private joke... Great reaction ❤
You're right about the jazz! Ren likes Django Reinhardt. He shouts him out in a song. He explains the mixing in depth in his interview with The Charismatic Voice channel. He goes through sometimes second by second tweaking it and adjusting the volume on the live recordings to compensate for turning slightly from the mic etc. He also posted yesterday about reactors and your impact on his career. ruclips.net/user/shortsuyYBfxEdtQc?si=KO2zDvbnYXPZxP8w
There's a difference between a "One-Take" and a live performance. This is a live performance, no editing, this is what people heard on the day. A "One-Take" is the best shot of multiple shot of the video. One takes are edited and mixed. TBH it doesnt really matter because Ren is the master of all
Ren put an ad on the internet saying, "ROOMMATE NEEDED. I MAKE A LOT OF NOISE.", and Romain, the guy doing the guitar solo, answered. @@bbqueen1578 ahh I also have adhd 😁 gotta love a list 🖤
The are all very talented musicians would have loved to see them live on the streets...amazing....thanks.
Ren has put a message for you and the other reactors who engage with him into his YT shorts.
Just seen you’ve already reacted to it
My fav busking session. This is done so well. Its freaking amazing!!!
I see you are going deeper into the world of Ren! Your smile and comments say everything 🎉🎉🎉😊
Blues guitar is like my favorite music to hear more than any other instrument, it's just so good. 😎
I’ve seen many reactions to this and by far I learnt stuff from you. Thanks ❤
This is my favorite busking of ren
My other one is him and chinchilla doing one dance!!
That is amazing!!
The irrepressible joy and energy is infectious. There will never be another collab like TBP.
Really enjoying your reactions. Was looking out for you!! Your comments are thoughtful and honest. The Big Push do covers but also have a lot of original songs - I think you’d like them all but I suggest Precious next 😁👍x
You not tired of his voice yet? 😂Dude should be cleaning up at the likes of The Brit awards...his talent is off the chart!
He wasn’t even mentioned - which is one of the reasons why reactors helping to spread the word are so important! X
@@analisasmith7927 Indeed...you need a label behind you to get a mention...Ren will be better off in the long run without them.
I loved how you loved this. This is probably the 100th time I have enjoyed it again LOL
Very cool.
Love your painting in the background!
He loves amongst many Nina Simone, thus the jazz, voice, soul and piano. 🎶💛
Hey, I love the painting behind you! :)
An excellent insight to Ren - as a person of solid integrity - watch his reaction to 1m subscribers. You will be impressed
Ren learned how to live in the moment and we're all just takin notes. Thanks for the content, you're a sweet dude 🤙
Thank you man
Another awesome reaction
His call and response game is off the charts good!!!
I think his passion is what I feel and see in him,
and you know he has like 160 videos !
Great harmonies on Swan Song too
Just been to the City of York an Historical City with 2000 years of history Dating back to Roman Saw some great bands Busking on the Streets. I Looked around the Crowed and All Nationalitys .Fantastic.
Lovin your reactions to Ren!!
So tell me… have you gotten sick of hearing Ren’s unique voice yet? 😁
Ps not sure if you saw that ren posted
a thank you to reactors yesterday :) and I’m not sure if you get claimed or not on your ren videos, but reach out if you do. He wants you guys to monetize, I think he has content ID turned on so he can keep track of commercial uses (he got kinda burned by CNN misrepresenting Hi Ren last year - claiming it was promoting suicidal ideation - I’d auto opt into flagging too)
Soooo glad you did this one ✌🏼❤️
thx for ur reaction!
I am loving your reactions, thank you. Keep them coming! :D
Love your reactions!! Thanks a lot❤
He has said he goes in and labor intensive as it is adjusts all the levels individually.
You aint seen nothing yet ... Ren is a musician of at least three generations - simply superb at all he does, and no, i'm not a kiss ass 😅. Something different check out The Warning Evolve live at the mtv vma ❤
What a fun/great review! Love your insight. 😊 TBP is just perfection.
Yes, yes…yes!!
Reggae - Scat - more Reggae - scat - Ska - Rap - what? Yep that's awesome!❤😊
Great reaction and your art is impressive ❤
imagin going down the street and suddently spot those buskers
Check The big push ,Mano Chao cover ...pretty slick
Great to see you enjoy that. If you want to respect him as a person, see his 1 million subscriber thank you... ahhh you have seen it, will have a look.
👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥love this reaction! 🫶
Awesome, thank you, loved it 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
Go to New Orleans- busking is not a solo act.
Where the Big Push is busking in this video is Briton UK. That’s where they went to music college. The city had a program that promoted the arts by having an arts district that encouraged street performances.
Now that was a dope reaction! Thanks!
And shouted out reactors in his Halftime retake
There's a difference between a "One-Take" and a live performance. This is a live performance, no editing, this is what people heard on the day. A "One-Take" is the best shot of multiple shot of the video. One takes are edited and mixed. TBH it doesnt really matter because Ren is the master of all
Great reaction. I appreciate your insights👍💕🦇
Ren and Romain flat shared and are close friends so they practiced a lot. Brighton is a mixer of musicians and artists
I really really want to see you react to Ren's live twitch impromptu jam session x
Ren is a phenomenon!!
LESSS GOOO
You need to look up Romain Axisa. His guitar skills are crazy and he has a beautiful voice. He’s been putting out a lot of solo music on his channel.
A man who gets it...subbed for sure!
