As a Neuroscience trainer, Kathryn is apprehensively watching for the dawning of the device-zombie-apocalypse. She is concerned about society's willingness to allow young people’s brains to be so heavily exposed to addictive and possibly damaging, screen based technology.
Kathryn has dedicated 22 years to understanding how extreme trauma impacts the developing brain. She has a Masters degree in Educational Psychology and is a certified Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics Practitioner

Holding a Masters in Educational Psychology and certification as a Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics Practitioner, she now uses her skills to train others and to develop interventions that assist reparation of the physical and psychological aspects of impacted brains.
Armed with the knowledge that trauma can have huge emotional, behavioural and physical outcomes, Kathryn is passionate about sharing information with the wider community through her work. They used to say the same thing about us reading comics!

Good point David. However, if we scanned your brain and measured your level of stress response when reading comics, we would get incredibly different calculations. There are fundamental differences between some screen use and reading comics when we use neuroscience. But as with all things, balance is the key. This talk was about informing and empowering people to recognise how and why balance is key.

Was good until you started vilifying video games. Ended up a load of waffle. Totally agree that little kids shouldn't be staring at phones, but this went way off track, reminded me of a high school student trying to inflate the word count of an essay by speaking irrelevant nonsense.
