Very great Top Ten list, Ian! I have to wonder btw, what's the name of the song and/or band you use at the end of your outros? I've been thinking hard now about being invested into their music.
@@codyman5540 That's an instrumental cover of 'Into The Night' by my favorite band of all time, HIM. Check them out! The regular version with lyrics and everything is a great song, hahaha.
That's a very solid list sir. My top ten would have to be: WWF No Mercy, Here Comes the Pain, WCW/nWo Revenge, Fire Pro Wrestling World, WWF Wrestlefest, Def Jam: Fight for New York, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Day of Reckoning, WCW vs the World, and WrestleMania The Arcade Game.
@@616Entertainment honestly mean it man! Not just these styles as well. Loving other stuff you post. Resident evil was amazing, Halloween, honestly your own channel. Keep it up
@@Michael-wb Dude The History of Halloween Part III, next Friday, is the most work I've ever put into any single video. I'm really hoping it does super well. We will see!
Excellent choices here. Limiting it to one entry per franchise made for a more interesting list, and it’s hard to argue with a list that has No Mercy, Revenge, and HCTP in the top five. Great stuff as always man!
Woohoo, New video! I loved the older wrestling games growing up. I can recall 2007 listening to the killer soundtrack in my bedroom loving every minute
So glad to see more appreciate fire pro I've spent hours just customizing and playing fire promoter The game is rewarding as well I remember when I was first learning the game and when I hit the grapple sml+med I hit a styles clash (since I was playing as AJ) it was so satisfying
Wow, this was an awesome list especially as you included a text based booking sim. I'd flip-flop No Mercy and Here Come the Pain, but that's like saying switching chocolate ice cream for vanilla, it all depends on the day. Creating memories is the most important part a list like this and you captured it. I know I would have to add WWF Warzone in my list in the top 5 as I was able to create memories with my stepdad on the N64 and playing No Mercy and Revenge with my son breathes new life into games that shaped my childhood.
Just started watching and I’m already loving it based on that one rule per franchise I’ll see list like these and the top games generally come from one series for the most part so I’m intrigued to see this list even more
Seeing TEW make it was such a surprise but a VERY welcome one! Of all the types of videos I've seen on this specific topic I can't remember a time where a TEW game made an appearance on this sorta list. Massive kudos for that inclusion! Love the rest of the list too BTW!
Fantastic list, have so many fond memories with some of these great ones. I'll never forget WWE WM 19's Revenge mode. All those poor workers, murdered. XD
Such an amazing list ang great game choices! i totally agree Showdown : LOW had one of the best legend rosters for the time and thats why i loved that game so much regardless. With such an abundance of games to choose from to make my own list it would be more then top 10. For myself i would have WWF WrestleFest & WWF Superstars (Arcade) included in my list along with the 16-bit WWF games (RAW, Royal Rumble) games that i grew up playing. Again another amazing video and always enjoy your content Ian!
I went back and played War Zone recently and absolutely loved it. The combos for moves is surprisingly deep and rewarding. I'm glad that they changed it afterward, but it's very fun to kill a few hours on after learning the moves
@@616Entertainment Well if you are interested in doing the series, I could run the company you want with instructions from you via Discord. All you would need is some way to record your computer screen as I shared the game via Discord.
I have to agree w your number one pick bro. It is one if not the one best wrestling games out. And now we got a few new wrestling games coming out. Hopefully you make videos of those sometime in the future. Thank you for your vids man. They're entertaining as hell. And I always enjoy em.
Royal Rumble on the Snes and Smackdown on the ps1 remain my favorites of all time man growing up in the 90s watching wwF was too much fun and it's still the greatest era and probably always will be imo even throwing nostalgia out the window wwF was packed with memorable wrestlers that u don't get anymore..I'll never forget first seeing undertaker when i was 7 man dude scared the shit outta me...orLex,IRS,Doink,Yokozuna,Razor,The Rock,Jake the Snake..The Bushwhackers ...i could go on and on...dope video as always Ian hope u doing well bru
Although my list is different, every time I see you show TNA I wish I hadn't skipped it. The animation is extra smooth and easily the best for its time
Yes! I have waited for this video for a while. Wrestling games when done right can lead to some of the best times ever. Here are my top 10 wrestling games, that does not include Here Comes the Pain or No Mercy as we know how legendary they are. I want to include the games that are just as good as them in my eyes. By the way this is all MY opinion, before you criticize me. Also I may include two or more games of various series on this list because it’s my list and that’s how much I love these games. Just a quick disclaimer. Anyways… 10. WWE 2K14 9. WWE All Stars (HD versions) 8. WCW/nWo Revenge 7. WWF WrestleMania 2000 6. WWE SmackDown Shut Your Mouth 5. WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2011 (HD versions) 4. WWE Day of Reckoning 1 3. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 2. WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2006 1. WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007 Remember my opinion, so please respect it. Thank you for reading and awesome list yourself, Ian. Great video.👍
RetroMania is practically brand new, and it's very small scale. It's a good game for sure, but I don't think, features or depth wise, it stands up to any of these. But to be fair, RetroMania was made by 8 dudes. It's very, very indie.
Been waiting for this vid and I loved it, I love your style n games and I love every game on this list, I even love TEW and games like it. My list is different ofc but my fav wrestling games are probably smackdown 2, Fire pro, and no mercy
Great list. Here's my top 10: 10. WWF Raw (Sega Genesis) 9. WWF Attitude (PS1) 8. WWE 2K14 (PS3) 7. SVR 2008 (XB360) 6. WWE '13 (XB360) 5. WCW/nWo Revenge (N64) 4. Smackdown 2 (PS1) 3. WWF No Mercy (N64) 2. SD: Here Comes The Pain (PS2) 1. Def Jam FFNY (O.G. Xbox, my all-time favorite fighting game of any kind)
Starting with Showdown and TNA left me in a spot I didn’t care what else you had on the list!!! Some of my favorite games not the best but it’s the nostalgia of it and for the most part there is plenty to enjoy about the games! If I made one featuring one per franchise I’d have to go Shut Your Mouth in SmackDown, I love HCTP and the Elimination Chamber but the memories are deeply rooted in Shut Your Mouth for me!! Edit; My brother bought Fire Pro Returns because the cover somewhat resembles HHH and Rey Mysterious and that’s where it began for me!
Opinions, my dude. We don't have to line up. You can open your list with WCW Backstage Assault, I'm still going to read the whole thing, because I'd want to know what you have to say. It wouldn't make me toss the rest of your list to the side because I didn't agree with the start.
@@616Entertainment Absolutely! It’s up to everyone to make their own list and I also didnt mean that in a negative way I knew I was gonna love the variety of your list!
@@616Entertainment I was personally just happy to see them included, hearing your coverage of many of these games has inspired me to seek them out, WCW vs the World, Wrestlemania and In Your House are games I can’t wait to play!
Damn you really dived deep good sir! My Top 3 (Because I'm sure you don't want to read 10) 3. WWE SvR 2010 - Realistic blood effects, amazing creation suite, God tier RTWM's 2. WWE SvR 2019 - Excellent creation suite, Great career mode finally, the ability to put on any type of match you want because game play is so refined 1. WWE Smackdown HCTP: It's just the God Damn GOAT! Repayable fantastic career mode, arcade game play yet still just Realistic enough, elimination chamber, solid CAW, just all around GOD TIER
I’d say 2006 is my favorite of all time. First wrestling game I ever had and it had the debut version of gm mode and my favorite version. There’s things in 07 and 08 that made gm mode better but also worse. 06 didn’t have the power 25 so you could make whatever title matches you wanted. It also had way more cruiser weights that actually mattered lol. Instead of Vito, Kid Kash and the Mexicools who were in 07 (it got worse in 08), you had Christian, RVD, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, all actual good wrestlers that were considered cruiserweights. (They weren’t in the following games) as well as having way more actual cruiserweights that were decent like Paul London, Steven Richards, Scotty 2 Hotty, Tajiri, Charlie Haas, Spike Dudley, and the Hurricane (which was way better than boring Gregory helms) where in 07 and 08 you had Rey Mysterio and the rest of them were garbage. 06 had the buried alive match. You could have a hell in a cell or last man standing on the weekly shows. I know the roster doesn’t have as much depth as 07 but I think it’s better overall especially mid card talent. 06 had jericho, Muhammad Hassan, Rene Dupree, Rob Conway, Sylvan Grenier, Mark Jindrak, Eugene, Heidenreich, the Bashams, Christian, Orlando Jordan. None of those guys are in 07. 07 added a bunch of talent but you lost all those guys. You however gained Khali, Umaga, Findlay, MNM, Bobby Lashley, Hardcore Holly, Mark Henry, Matt hardy, (Jeff came back for 2008) Mr Kennedy, but the rest were shit. The legends are way better in 06. The gameplay is debatable whether 06 or 07 is better. I like both. I feel like 2006 is the perfect combo between arcade and simulation based gameplay. 2007s gameplay was more smooth tho. I played the shit out of both of those games and loved them both. But to me 2006 will always be #1
Showdown got some love. Games back then weren't perfect but they were fun. But my #1 is a tie between Smackdown SYM and HCTP. Apparently the AEW game coming out will play like HCTP. Looking forward to it. You got a subscriber. 👍
Really awesome selection. And I was so glad that TNA came out before Hogan took over, the 6 sided ring made it such a different experience. And Wrestlemanua XIX was nuts, I couldn’t believe the first time I played and threw a guy off a building. Retromania is a really good one as well.
Sweet list, my dude! My top ten is mainly WWE/F & WCW games. Our number 1 & 2 are the same. Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain WCW/NWO Revenge Def Jam: Fight For NY WWF No Mercy RAW (Sega Genesis) WCW/NWO World Tour WWF In Your House Wrestlemania 19 Raw vs Smackdown 2006 WWE2K18
Nice... A lot of great wrestling games. We have been blessed as wrestling video game heads with so many classics over the years. I think the only thing thay could make HCTP any better would have been titles in exhibition matches and a ladder mini game. Apart from those, the game is near flawless.
Didn't expect Fight for NY to be in this 😂 I loved that game and unfortunately it was the only def jam game I ever had. WCW NWOs revenge was great. I wasn't a WCW fan but I had a blast on that game.
You know looking at those Def Jam models recently I do see a connection between them and the first AEW teaser like CM Pulse said. I see it with the unfinished WCW Mayhem 2 models as well. "I AM THE MILLENNIUM MAN."
@@616Entertainment The CGI/Pre-rendered one. The faces and stuff reminded me of that cartoonish look that the Mayhem 2 footage and Def Jam games have. The huge body types reminded me of Ultimate Muscle but more.. barrel chested lol. Tho the models in gameplay tears with Darby are more late2K looking- I'm way happier with that look and I hope they keep the oversized hands! Give me a touch of the arcade look imo
Great list, personally I would've added Raw 2 but like you said this is your list. Side note, I really wish the Smackdown series was playable on modern consoles.
Great video Ian! My list 10. WWF Raw ( sega not Xbox) 9. Slam Masters 8. Wrestlmaina 2000 7. WCW vs NWO Revenge 6. No mercy 5. All Stars 4. 2k19 3. Svr 2006 2. Here comes the pain 1. 2k14 & 13
Dude awesome list and following the way you did your list here is mine. 10 Showdown: Legends of Wrestling 09 Wrestle War 08 Nes Pro Wrestling 07 Power Move Pro Wrestling 06 WWF No Mercy 05 WCW NWO Revenge 04 Fire Pro Wrestling Returns PS2 03 Galactic Wrestling: Featuring Ultimate Muscle PS2 02 Saturday Night Slam Masters 01 Tecmo World Wrestling
I haven't played enough wrestling games for a top 10, but I have the same fond memories playing WWF Wrestlefest in the arcade and WWF Wrestlemania at home. Man, those were the days.
You nailed it bro...I always said Revenge was the greatest and No Mercy just expounded on it. WCW vs the World was 1st...then they improved on it with Revenge...WWE gave a solid offering with Wrestlemania 2000....then came No Mercy with everything I always dreamed of.
Great list! I actually have fire pro wrestling returns and fire pro world but I’ve been hesitant to play them as I don’t know most of the roster and worry about the gameplay adaptation. Now I’m tempted to give them a try though.
I don't want to sound like "that guy" but I honestly preferred Shut your mouth to Here comes the pain. I realize HCP is objectively better but I always found myself going back to SYM. It's definitely my favorite wrestling game of all time. Great list btw Ian
Phenomenal list, Six! No disappointment to be found here, as expected. Loved that you opened right up with that Showdown sweetness, bro! My list - keeping up with the rule of your own - is as follows: Honorable Mention: WWE 2K20 (Xbox One) You know what's messed up? If it weren't for the glitchiness (which has been reduced to a serviceable minimum now, in my experience), this game would be on the actual list. I got rid of it before the second DLC pack ever came out, but I picked it back up once the DLC cycle and the updates were over with. I still have it, and I still play it, and y'know what? Surprisingly, it's actually really good. I enjoy the content the game presents. I loved all the fantasy stuff they put in, which was a nice breath of fresh air in an otherwise stagnating franchise. The game has a strong roster (despite a noticeable lack of legends) and a great assortment of arenas. I enjoyed the Career Mode for once. I know it still has its issues, but I can still enjoy it. It is what it is. 7. WWE Legends of WrestleMania (PS3/Xbox 360) People don't talk about this game, and it breaks my heart. Don't get me wrong, it has it's faults. The biggest one is that, as basically a glorified DLC expansion to SD! VS RAW 2009, it is sadly only just puddle deep as substance goes. However, there were great things about it. The roster was sweet (although, for its subject matter, it was sorely lacking Roddy Piper and Goldust). The atmosphere was excellent. The graphics, arenas, and wrestlers looked great for the game's time. The control scheme is just about my favorite in the history of wrestling games. Finally, it does something no other game does: it gave us a mechanic that combines a wrestler's signatures and finisher into one big build up to the 'go home' that feels so great and comes right off the televisions of the 80's. 6. Showdown: Legends of Wrestling (PS2/Xbox) More than enough has already been said of this one, but here it stands. 5. Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood (Xbox) To quote Sam Rockwell's character from the original TMNT movie: "Check this out man, anything you want, we got it. Anything you wanna do, do it. You know what I'm saying? Anything.". I know people hate this game and its predecessor, but I loved'em. This one especially. 4. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 (Gamecube) The second in a small franchise of games with CAW at the center of it, and it did not disappoint. Only thing keeping this from moving higher on the list is the load times and the limitations imposed upon it by the console itself. 3. WWE Raw 2 (Xbox) Yowie-wowie, folks don't talk about this one enough! Don't get me wrong, I get it; on the surface, there are definitely some things I could see being off-putting to some...but once you take the plunge...this is one of the most bat-shit wrestling games I've ever played, and never disappointed me for a second. It packs a Season Mode that can be considered a true spiritual successor to that of my number one on this list. The Creation Suite is outstanding and crazy in all the best ways for a game of its time. The matches you can put together between the many stipulations and match options are insane. Ever wanted to truly test yourself in a 120+ -man Royal Rumble with weapons?! Plug this bastard in and come get you some! Ever wanted to know what it was like to utilize Jeff Hardy's infamous 16-foot ladder? It's here and waiting. Ever wanted to use your own uploaded music for entrance themes? Done, son! I could go on and on. This game has a phenomenal Invasion Era roster as well, on top of everything else. 2. WWE 2K14 (Xbox 360) Again, can't say much that hasn't already been said here. It was the zenith of the Creation Suite. AMAZING roster, including the only licensed appearance of one of my all-time heroes, Bruno Sammartino. Legendary story mode (literally!). Always my first nominee for the remaster treatment as wrestling games go. 1. WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (PS1) Always and forever. Ladies and gentlemen, this is proof! Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation!!
Raw 2!!!! Loved that career mode We can jump our opponents before they made it to the ring, they can also jump us due to catching on to our tactics Setting traps to start a rivalry, only for it to go wrong hit someone else! Or go to the ring call them out, only for someone else to show up and start a feud! We could steal from lockers Could also try to give words of encouragement backstage, along with trying to start a stable ( I member getting jumped more than joining a stable hahaha) All of this had a fan reaction meter which worked well to our actions I miss that gem too 💯
Much respect to the list and it's diversity. That's one thing you got to appreciate when people put together THEIR top 10 lists. If I was to give a top 5, using the same criteria of one game per series my list would be. 5. Saturday Night Slam Masters: The tornado tag matches especially with another player are so much fun. 4. Tecmo World Wrestling: Pro Wrestling gets a lot of love and rightfully so but I feel this is the best NES Wrestling game. The cut-scenes and finishers are awesome. 3. WWF Raw: Royal Rumble was good but Raw improved on it in every way. Can't forget about the Mega Moves. 2. WWF Raw 2: Never has attacking your opponent during their entrance been so fun. An underrated CAW feature and an excellent for its time season mode. 1. Smackdown 2 Know Your Role: Sure I may have lost approximately a year of my life with all the load times in this game, but it has the best multiplayer season mode of any wrestling game. Me and 3 other buddies logged so many hours and seasons on this game. Royal Rumbles were especially intense if all 4 of us were entered or if one of us was the World Champion. Smackdown 4: Shut Your Mouth would easily be in my top 5 otherwise but Smackdown 2 to me and its gameplay were peak for wrestling video games. Honorable Mentions: WWF No Mercy, Fire Pro Wrestling World, WCW/NWO Revenge & WWF Wrestlefest.
Great list. If anyone cares...My list is: 1. Def Jam Fight For New York 2. WWE SmackDown Vs RAW 2006 3.WWF No Mercy 4. WWE SmackDown Shut Your Mouth 5. WWE SmackDown Vs RAW(2005) 6. Def Jam Vendetta 7. WWE SmackDown Here Comes The Pain 8. WCW Vs NWO Revenge 9. WWE 12 10. WWE SmackDown Vs RAW 2011 Honorable mention: SVR 2007, SVR 2008, Legends of Wrestling, WWE Legends of WrestleMania, WWE 2K14.
Im surprised wwf attitude wasn't on the list. I know it hasn't aged well, honestly if there was a mod to fix the controls it be great. Had so much fun back in the day with that game . Insane amount of match type options, best create a wrestler
I've said it before and I'll say it again WCW/NWO revenge made my early teen years. Corben Hansen's basement. 4 or 5 of us sitting around the N64, 40 man battle Royale, KO eliminations only all start as Bischoff. Perfect carefree Saturday night that I would love to revisit
My top 10 list is right here! 10. TNA Impact 9.Smackdown 2: Know Your Role 8. Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game 7. Ultimate Muscle: Legends Vs. New Generation 6. Wrestlemania 2000 5. WWE Raw 2 4. Def Jam Vendetta 3. WWE All-Stars 2. Smackdown Here Comes The Pain 1. WWE Day Of Reckoning 2
Glad you had Tna in your top ten yeah back then people used to shit on it based off the competition it had but “gameplay” wise I’ll put it up against some of these newer 2k games
To be fair, I like SVR, SVR06 and SVR07. After that? No. And I prefer HCTP to any of those 3. I think it's crazy how many lists in the comments are like, 10 straight WWE games. Like, there's other stuff out there! Hahaha. But hey, opinions, right?
@@616Entertainment true true and were are different from different generation like someone say MK2 is there favorite because of they grew up on it and well I say MK9 is my favorite because I grew up on it, it differs from one person to another
I'm gonna look for TEW now, thanks for showing me! Ever played Extreme Warfare Revenge? That was the one I kept playing and continuously updated with roster updates and etcera. Hope you're doing well brother
Dude, I cannot stress this enough You need to play wrestling empire (and then do a video on it of course) but I'm almost certain you'll fall in love not to mention the free content and modes that are constantly added to the game and if you don't own a switch there's a PC version Here comes the pain is a respectable 1st choice, not mine personally as I find the game a bit too fast and arcadey to fully award it that top spot. 10) tna impact 9) ecw hardcore revolution 8) legends of wrestling 2 7) SVR 2011 6) retro mania wrestling 5) def jam ffny 4) smackdown shut your mouth 3) WWE day of reckoning 1 2) wrestling empire 1) WWF no mercy
For me? The best is WWE Smackdown V.S. Raw 2007. Also, really appreciate you putting TNA in there. Such an underrated gem. And finally, I agree with Fire Pro Wrestling World. Just got the game about a month ago, and I already love it.
This was fun. I was very surprised at the number one pick. Especially since it was missing two key elements of some of your favorite wrestling games. My top 3 (least to most) would be 2k19, SVR ‘06, and 2K14.
Great video as usual. My list would be: 10. WWF Attitude 9. Just Bring It 8. Showdown - LOW 7. WWE 2K14 6. SVR 2007 5. SVR 2006 4. Wcw/nWo Revenge 3. Shut Your Mouth 2. No Mercy 1. Here Comes The Pain
TEW made the list, so I'm happy. I haven't played 2020, honestly haven't even played TEW. I've spent most of my time playing EWR, but they're basically the same thing except TEW is EWR's successor. That said, I would LOVE to get a TEW booking video diary series.
That was fun. While, for the most part, I agree with your list, I'd switch out TNA for Wrestlemania 2000 and FPWR for Fire Pro Returns, but that's kind of a bias on my end because I have both, but trying to run FPWR on my comp gives me a headache. Also, quick shoutout to Rumble Roses, which I'd probably give at least an honorable mention to.
Solid list. Definitely agree with #1. Do you consider the 2k series as the evolution of the Smackdown series? I was surprised to not see 2k14 but if you consider it an evolution (I do too) it makes sense.
No, I consider 2K different. I actually haven't played 2K14 at all. In the last 10 years, I've only bought WWE 12, WWE 2K15 and WWE 2K18. They don't put in enough effort to get my money every year, and I can't imagine buying 2K22. So it looks like the last WWE game I've bought in forever will remain the 2017 game, lol
Great video and list! My top 10, while removing the rule of one per franchise, and going strictly based on the great memories I have of each gaming experience is: 1. Wrestlemania 2000 2. WCW/NWO world tour 3. WWF War Zone 4. Smackdown HCTP 5. WCW/NWO Revenge 6. Smackdown vs Raw 2006 7. Raw 2 8. WWE 13 9. Smackdown shut your mouth 10. WWF Attitude
Great list man! Mine would be something like this: Smackdown vs RAW 2006 No Mercy Here Comes the Pain WCW/NWO revenge Def Jam fight for NY Tied between WWE 2K14 & WWE 2K19(yep I went there) Day of Reckoning 2 Fire Pro Wrestling World WWE All Stars Saturday Night Slam Masters
HCTP is such an awesome game. Great roster, great season mode (Only Season mode I have ever played since), simple and quick. I wish the current games to go back to that pace, and simplicity in the gameplay.
It's nice seeing someone showing Fire Pro the respect it deserves. It doesn't have the graphics of WWE 2K, yes, but it has something that WWE 2K doesn't have; excitement. Pro wrestling is all about putting out a good show, no matter who wins and loses, and Fire Pro shows that aspect of the sport perfectly. World is my current favorite pro wrestling game and I can't wait for future of the franchise.
Dude 100%. Those first couple requirements in mission mode teach you not only how to play, not only how to win, but how to actually create a good match. Let your opponent get some stuff in, let them kick out of some big stuff, make it dramatic!
Top 10 Wrestling games: 10. WCW Mayhem 9. WWF No Mercy 8. WWE All Stars 7. WWE '13 6. Smackdown Shut Your Mouth 5. SVR 2007 4. SVR 2008 3. SvR 2006 2. WWE Raw 2 1. SmackDown Here Comes The Pain
@@616Entertainment Lol it was my first ever game I played on the ps1. I was born in '97 so I dont remember much about WCW but I remember vividly Shane McMahon buying WCW.
Excellent list and another good video. The only thing I ever disagree with is when people include the Def Jam games in wrestling categories. Those were all rappers and entertainers, none of which to my knowledge ever even stepped into a wrestling ring in real life as a guess like some NBA players and boxers did. The Def Jam games are Fighting games but include a well known grappling system. That's the only part that can be attributed to some well known wrestling games. These are illegal street fights and brawls between rappers and entertainers.
I don't know about this list . . . but I do appreciate the use of Comix Zone music, as it stimulates my ancient brain into self-awareness. If only for a moment
Great list Ian and love your thought and process of it. No order but my fav wrestling games just playing and growing up with them: WCW vs the world WCW mayhem Warzone Wwf raw Wwf royal rumble SVR 2007 Here comes the pain Def jame fight for NY Smackdown 2 WCW thunder Never played N64 wish I did though.

I know I would have to add WWF Warzone in my list in the top 5 as I was able to create memories with my stepdad on the N64 and playing No Mercy and Revenge with my son breathes new life into games that shaped my childhood.
Great list Ian, I really appreciate the rule you put in place, to cut down on games from the same franchise. Keep up the great work dude.
Thanks brudda, I thought it would make it more interesting and it seems like you guys mostly agree with me on that.
Just started watching and I’m already loving it based on that one rule per franchise I’ll see list like these and the top games generally come from one series for the most part so I’m intrigued to see this list even more
Thanks dude! Hope you enjoyed it.
I've literally been excited about this video since the announcement.
Here it is!
I love WWF No Mercy it’s a classic! I really enjoyed watching this episode Ian! Thank you very much! ❤️😎👍🏻
Thanks for the continued support, as always.
SvR '07 is my personal favorite, it was also the first wrestling game that I played 😀
Same🤙🏻
It's a good one, no doubt.
I lean more to SvR 06 but 07 is excellent as well.
@@a-bomb3593 '06 is the better game, but I have so many memories wrapped up in '07 haha
You must be a young lad then
Seeing TEW make it was such a surprise but a VERY welcome one!
XD
Dude, RIP all of those dudes.
Retro! Thanks for watching, dude.
Very solid list dude. I would've added WrestleMania 2000 somewhere in there, but still good.
Kids today will never know the brilliance of HCTP!
Excellent video bro, I couldn't agree more, specially wcw nwo revenge every time I've played it i had to watch the sickest intro .... 👏🏻👏🏻😎
The Truck Driver. That was awesome😄
I went back and played War Zone recently and absolutely loved it. The combos for moves is surprisingly deep and rewarding. I'm glad that they changed it afterward, but it's very fun to kill a few hours on after learning the moves
Love the comic zone background music Ian, great choice indeed. 👊
Yessir!
I love Total Extreme Wrestling 2020, you should create your own video series running a company of your choosing. I love watching TEW2020 videos.
I would if it ran on Mac. =/
@@616Entertainment Well if you are interested in doing the series, I could run the company you want with instructions from you via Discord. All you would need is some way to record your computer screen as I shared the game via Discord.
I knew what's gonna be included and agreed with it already but I can't stop watching this good content, Keep up brotha!
Thanks Saleh!
Dude you are amazing I rewatch all your stuff every night brings back so many memories sound like we would have or still would get along very well lol
Thanks dude, I really appreciate that. =)
I have to agree w your number one pick bro. It is one if not the one best wrestling games out. And now we got a few new wrestling games coming out. Hopefully you make videos of those sometime in the future.
Thank you for your vids man. They're entertaining as hell. And I always enjoy em.
Thanks for watching, Miguel!

SD Here Comes The Pain is my #1, 2nd is WCW Nwo Revenge. I've known you for years man and I dig your opinion.
Hell yea, brudda.
@@616Entertainment got a great question for you, who is your all-time favorite wrestler to have used and which game was it from?
Anyways…

1. WWE Smackdown HCTP: It's just the God Damn GOAT! Repayable fantastic career mode, arcade game play yet still just Realistic enough, elimination chamber, solid CAW, just all around GOD TIER
Fun picks, brudda. Fun picks.
But to me 2006 will always be #1
2006 is definitely a great entry.
Watching this just brought back my childhood with the quickness and hearing the comix zone theme was the icing on the cake
Dude hell yea.
I have zero interest in wrestling and have never played one even tough I'm now in my 30's. But I enjoyed that video! Well done sir!
Yea retromania is pretty aight
So happy the TNA game had the 6 sided ring, yea.

Def Jam: Fight For NY
WWF No Mercy

Here comes the Pain is the GOAT. Couldn't get enough of it back when it came out. So easy to pick up and play too
Nice... A lot of great wrestling games. We have been blessed as wrestling video game heads with so many classics over the years. I think the only thing thay could make HCTP any better would have been titles in exhibition matches and a ladder mini game. Apart from those, the game is near flawless.
Agreed.
that shot of the wrestlemania 19 gamecube disc was *chef's kiss*
Didn't expect Fight for NY to be in this 😂 I loved that game and unfortunately it was the only def jam game I ever had. WCW NWOs revenge was great. I wasn't a WCW fan but I had a blast on that game.
FFNY is legendary, man.
@@616Entertainment that’s why you can’t find it anywhere for less than 100$ smh…..definitely a classic.👍🏼👍🏼
It's a topic that's been done a million times over, but none like yours dude, that makes it unique!
Thanks brudda, that's the whole idea. =)
You know looking at those Def Jam models recently I do see a connection between them and the first AEW teaser like CM Pulse said. I see it with the unfinished WCW Mayhem 2 models as well. "I AM THE MILLENNIUM MAN."
The CG teaser or the gameplay? That first teaser was pre-rendered, not gameplay.

Def Jam FFNY is truly an underrated game🔥
Indeed!
You nailed it bro...I always said Revenge was the greatest and No Mercy just expounded on it. WCW vs the World was 1st...then they improved on it with Revenge...WWE gave a solid offering with Wrestlemania 2000....then came No Mercy with everything I always dreamed of.
Amazing list Ian! I completly agree.
Thanks Evan!
Great list! I actually have fire pro wrestling returns and fire pro world but I’ve been hesitant to play them as I don’t know most of the roster and worry about the gameplay adaptation. Now I’m tempted to give them a try though.
DO IT.
You can download wrestlers. They have custom faces, custom moves. You don't need to be familiar with the main roster.
I don't want to sound like "that guy" but I honestly preferred Shut your mouth to Here comes the pain. I realize HCP is objectively better but I always found myself going back to SYM. It's definitely my favorite wrestling game of all time. Great list btw Ian
You do you, my dude!
Phenomenal list, Six! No disappointment to be found here, as expected. Loved that you opened right up with that Showdown sweetness, bro! My list - keeping up with the rule of your own - is as follows:
Honorable Mention: WWE 2K20 (Xbox One)
You know what's messed up?
7. WWE Legends of WrestleMania (PS3/Xbox 360)
People don't talk about this game, and it breaks my heart.
6. Showdown: Legends of Wrestling (PS2/Xbox)
More than enough has already been said of this one, but here it stands.
5. Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood (Xbox)
To quote Sam Rockwell's character from the original TMNT movie: "Check this out man, anything you want, we got it. Anything you wanna do, do it. You know what I'm saying? Anything.". I know people hate this game and its predecessor, but I loved'em. This one especially.
4. WWE Day of Reckoning 2 (Gamecube)
The second in a small franchise of games with CAW at the center of it, and it did not disappoint. Only thing keeping this from moving higher on the list is the load times and the limitations imposed upon it by the console itself.
3. WWE Raw 2 (Xbox)
Yowie-wowie, folks don't talk about this one enough!
2. WWE 2K14 (Xbox 360)
Again, can't say much that hasn't already been said here.
2: Know Your Role (PS1)
Always and forever. Ladies and gentlemen, this is proof! Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation!!
Great closer, what else needs to be said?!
Raw 2!!!!
Loved that career mode
We can jump our opponents before they made it to the ring, they can also jump us due to catching on to our tactics
Setting traps to start a rivalry, only for it to go wrong hit someone else! Or go to the ring call them out, only for someone else to show up and start a feud!
We could steal from lockers
Could also try to give words of encouragement backstage, along with trying to start a stable ( I member getting jumped more than joining a stable hahaha)
All of this had a fan reaction meter which worked well to our actions
I miss that gem too 💯
Much respect to the list and it's diversity.
Great list. If anyone cares...My list is:
1. Def Jam Fight For New York
2. WWE SmackDown Vs RAW 2006

6. Def Jam Vendetta
7. WWE SmackDown Here Comes The Pain

Im surprised wwf attitude wasn't on the list. I know it hasn't aged well, honestly if there was a mod to fix the controls it be great. Had so much fun back in the day with that game . Insane amount of match type options, best create a wrestler
It's fine, but it's no where near my top ten.
I've said it before and I'll say it again WCW/NWO revenge made my early teen years.

Those games are pretty much a continuation of the SmackDown games.
To be fair, I like SVR, SVR06 and SVR07. After that? No. And I prefer HCTP to any of those 3. I think it's crazy how many lists in the comments are like, 10 straight WWE games. Like, there's other stuff out there! Hahaha. But hey, opinions, right?

That was fun. While, for the most part, I agree with your list, I'd switch out TNA for Wrestlemania 2000 and FPWR for Fire Pro Returns, but that's kind of a bias on my end because I have both, but trying to run FPWR on my comp gives me a headache. Also, quick shoutout to Rumble Roses, which I'd probably give at least an honorable mention to.
FPR definitely has better ring SFX than FPW.
Hell of a list, but I'm mad that "Dig dig diggity dogg" will be in my head the rest of the week.

Outstanding video
Thank you!
@@616Entertainment that's hilarious! 2k14 is probably the best of the 2k series. You gotta try it!

Def Jam fight for NY
Tied between WWE 2K14 & WWE 2K19(yep I went there)
Day of Reckoning 2
Fire Pro Wrestling World
WWE All Stars
Saturday Night Slam Masters
Slam Masters was cut at the veeeeeery end.
No issues with 2K, honestly I could easily lose ShowDown and replace it with 2K18.
Hopefully we get some more wrestling games in the coming years to add to the list
Totally agree, my list would be very close if not almost exact. I shared this vid on my FB
Thanks!

Gotta have that one WCW in the sea of WWE, hahaha
I’m so proud I’ve just witnessed my 5 Yr old brother watching your channel on his I pad, I mean it was for the gameplay but still I proud moment.
Dude that's awesome! Tell him not to use the words I use, hahahaha
@@616Entertainment I wondered were he learned to say fuck 👀😂
Here comes the pain is the GOAT 🐐

I have spent so many hrs playing the TEW games... It's so good
Love how you threw that comix zone background music in there!
Good ear!
I don't know about this list . . . but I do appreciate the use of Comix Zone music, as it stimulates my ancient brain into self-awareness. If only for a moment
It's a great soundtrack. And where's your list, ass?!

WCW nwo revenge is my #1 but I love your list, so many memories here , too bad the newer wrestling games don't compare to the ones of old
There are some good newer ones, but yea, the best ones are the old ones.
@@616Entertainment 2k14 was the last elite one imo
