  • feels and sounds different vs the 750 holley double pumper,also not overly rich, seems right on the money out the box.

    Did you ever realize you left a 1/2 inch open vacuum hole on the back of your carb???. Thats what that hissing is.

    • @BPattB
      @BPattB Год назад +2

      Nah bro that was off the front. You didn't see the open vacuum ports? If those ports in the front had caps I would assume it was in the back too, but they were uncapped in the front why would you assume the the leak was coming from the back then?

    • @yeboscrebo4451

      @@BPattB looks like the manifold and ported vacuum ports are capped, the PCv in the front is open though.

      @BPattB Год назад +1

      @@yeboscrebo4451 You are correct the manifold and ported were both capped and the PCV was open. I had to watch it on my laptop to see it🧐. I watched it from my phone the first time and I thought I saw there all three were uncapped. I still stand by the part of my comment asking how he knew the leak was from the brake booster port in the back. Did you get a look at the fuel pressure gauge, I just noticed it on the larger screen. 9 on an Edelbrock 😐. I love Eddie's but 5.5 I've found is more then enough.

    Turn pressure down to 6 it’s , Edlbroke works best at 5.0-6.6 psi

    I have a used Edelbrock carburetor the on a rebuilt 350 engine and the engine runs good but the carb only runs with the choke closed and will not run when its open and I checked for air leaks and there is none is there anyone that can help me... rebuild it or get another one?

    my secondary flaps are not opening like that when you hit the throttle lever like that. same carb on a 350 sbc. how do i get them to open like this?

    • @elreyyakko
      @elreyyakko  3 года назад

      Linkage on carb opens it,other side of carb. Hits certain point and opens. Still learning with this carb, but I did find useful info from "uncle tonys garage", old school magazine writer.

    That's a Chevy motor and why Edelbrock and not quadrajet ? It's what belongs on there and when they are right will outperform that Edelbrock In all areas fuel milage , drivability, longevity performance all of it ..

    • @elreyyakko
      @elreyyakko  3 года назад +1

      Edelbrock design is based off the old quadrajets,but are years more advanced.
      Why would I put a old carb,thats not even in production,has no real following except for purist who need it for a numbers matching car and whos design is outdated.
      Edelbrocks work great,and this all new design with the annular charges right off the bat made the car happy,is using less fuel and got more vacumm. They did homework on what was good before,got rid of bad and the AVS2 really shines.
      Longevity and performance, my old edlebrock is still running in my brothers car 15 yrs after I left ny, the yellow toyota with the chevy motor in other videos on this channel,and thats about 20yrs total if you add time I used it. Nitrous,NA, and even turbocharged,they worked,but like you said,if you know how to work them...most just pop a holley on.

    • @glennmanchester1568

      Edelbrock are based no are the old Carter afb carbs edelbrock bought the patent and has been re producing them for the simple bolt on do nothing to it
      Dyi'ers Rochester and Carter afb were all around about the same time except one. Was made specifically for an auto maker who used them for a very long time on everything and the other was aftermarket hense having to sell out to edelbrock who had the name brand by then and could sell about anything under that name the thermoquad was made as a direct replacement for the q jet due to the spreadbore design but was basically a failure even tho mopar used them for a good while and then in the 80s got tired of. The problems and struck a deal w Rochester to use q jets there's a guy on here Richard holdner who tested a 500 Cadillac motor on a dyno with a holley vs q jet and the q jet made the same power as the holley so combine that with better fuel economy due to the small primaries of the q jet and drivability longevity and reliability I've stated my case now change my mind ..

      @@glennmanchester1568 I dont have to change your mind,I use what I want,unless your paying for anything here, your opinion is neither regarded or needed. If a decades old design works for you,more power to you, but to come in like your the be all end all of builders, well...good luck to you. Ive gone from na to nitrous to turbo, olds,chevy, buick v6s and LS, dont go on other peoples pages to complain they are doing something wrong because of personal preference....let people enjoy things,if it bothers you so much, could always scroll past the video.....

      Nawwww we don't wanna do this anymore this argument has been going on between people for ever and your right I apologize if I came on like an asshole we all have things and uh hum people in their lives that have a direct effect on the way they act or react more like it . Just been going thru. It w the old lady is all I guess that was part of the problem so again my apologies we both enjoy the same hobby / career whatever so yes I like the old q jets but you did make a very good point about the avs w the annular boosters I did watch a video on that and was impressed with the way it works so we good bro ? @@glennmanchester1568 no problem on my end,just had to say what needed to be said so we can be on same wavelength.
      Quadrajet were great in there time, and if you can find tuners that know how to work them,they are great, but technology has come forward so much,it truly is a dead commodity unless going for a # matching build or have them stockpiled.
      They got a bad rap,but was because the holley was easier to work with,not better,just easier. The edelbrock is somewhere in between,For this street car build with future ac, its spot on.
