Erin Doherty was fantastic as Anne, she stole every scene she was in, and they weren't nearly enough! Her steel and confidence are electrifying.
She had all the game and he had none. Felt like they hooked up in spite of him 😂
He asked where did she get all the confidence? She's royalty. That's all the confidence she'd need.
Her: "listen chum, as long as you don't annoy me too much it's a done deal".
Him: * hyperventilates *
All I can say is Anne must have had a lot of fun with him between the sheets. Good for her. I love the way erin Doherty plays anne so perfectly and in such a strong way.
The perfect Anne we need a whole Anne show with Erin Doherty she was fabulous
I keep imagining her as queen now
If only...not that beta male Charles.
Lol she is definitely Phillip's daughter.
Thats why she chose the Philips last name for her children.
@@zhenghao123 Uh, no, but thanks for playing...
@@zhenghao123 Mark Phillips, her first husband and the father of her children, was the determining factor there.
@@dlxmarks Yes but she is the one choosing the future father for her children. Do you think it was her first husband that chose her or she is the one that chose him?
@@zhenghao123 To be clear, you believe that Anne married a man because his last name was Phillips to honor her father, Prince Philip, whose first name was not even spelled the same way and whose final last name was Mountbatten? As opposed to simply naming her son Philip or her daughter Philippa which would have made a lot more sense.
people forget what an attractive young woman Anne was..
Not everybody

Anne was attractive!
(i.e. well-groomed, fit,
well-mannered, well-
dressed with luxurious
hair -- blonde streaks)
Anne never was
conventionally "pretty"
(like Doris Day was in her
youth)
Anne was certainly not
"beautiful" (a step up
from "pretty") or
"gorgeous" (Elizabeth
Taylor or Catherine
Deneuve in their youth)
But Princess Anne was
certainly "attractive"
when she was young.
Regarding middle-age:
The description of an
"attractive" middle
aged woman is
"elegant" (if the woman
stylishly dressed) or
perhaps "handsome"
if she is well-groomed.
not THIS attractive. Erin is stunning here
"I'm not confidant. I'm just tough."
They were actually a lot closer in real life. This went far beyond a couple of one-night-stands. They had genuine plans to get married, but even in the 1970s, a senior English royal was still not allowed to marry a Catholic-born like Parker-Bowles. ... although he came from an old family with a name, who were already moving in those circles. Unbelievable how often one family / one company can make the same fatal mistake to then force people into disharmonious matches and eventual divorces!
Gaddam Anne is the definition of rizz

Princess Anne was a dawg 😅
I recall when she visited the US during the Americas Cup races at Newport RI. Saw her and Prince Andrew a few times there. That was about in the same time period as this film. I’m sure she has much she will never tell about.
The three have remained friends, I believe. Camilla always has a genuine smile on her face whenever she's with Andrew Parker Bowles.
Ugh.
Gross. Your wife’s ex slept with your sister.
he cheated on her and left her. The irony is that she and Diana had very similar experiences in many ways. If Camilla was bad then so was Diana, who also looked for love with married men.

Princess Anne was gorgeous in her younger days
Anne and Andrew were much deeper than what the show portrays. Had it not been for religion, they probably would've married.
Interesting that the Shands got ver his religion. Are Tom and Laura Catholic?
The Shands matriarch isn't the head of the Church of England, neither were Marie Luce's (new wife of Peter Townsend) so yeah they got over it.@@lizziebkennedy7505
@@lizziebkennedy7505 They were raised Catholic, but don't seem to be practicing AFAIK. And it's more than just "getting over" religion, there's a literal law (The 1701 Act of Succession) that forbade anyone married to a Catholic from ascending to the throne, which was only repealed in 2013 (though it still bans them if they convert to Catholicism)
@@kikihappy54Thus Queen Consort versus Queen for Camilla's sake.
@@outinsiderNo, she never converted, otherwise there’s no way she & Charles could have married. Queen Consort just means wife of the King, rather than Queen Regnant, who would be the monarch in her own right.
She gave him the elevator eyes, twice.
I always wonder why the actor who plays APB friend DIDN'T play Andrew Parker Bowles?? He looks so much more like him than Andrew Buchan! The only thing they share is the name!
I liked the actor that played Andrew he played the brother of the actor that plays Prince Philip in a show called Party Animals, it was a similar part.
Imagine if anne married andrew and charles got to marry camilia back then?
It’s WET. Love it
In 2024's slang, we call Anne a "rizzler" with infinite rizz
First scene was at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London isn't it ?
National Liberal club (which adjoins the royal horseguards hotel)
3:35 First Elizabeth wearing a black slip dress, then Margaret wearing only her black bra and now Anne wearing only her bra? The writers should had put more fanservice.
Wtf was up with that spasmodic bowing? It was ridiculous.
Anne > Andrew > Camilla > Charles. Fortunately things stopped there. Hopefully.
What language is that 😮?
Princess Anne so hot!
So basically Princess Ann was slapping uglies with King Charles-got it.
I wonder how much fact goes into this and how much of it is just made up for the show.
Most of the private scenes
are fictional - for the storyline.
The crowning of Prince Philip
by the Queen never happened.
All that was done in real life is
that the queen issued an order
that Phillip would take precedence
over Prince Charles and all of
the Queen's other children and
nobles of the realm.
Philip was also named regent for
Prince Charles. Also: "All males
heirs who are not styled as
HRH or titled as prince will
carry the surname Mountbatten-
Windsor[1]
The Queen's order was approved
by Parliament to be made into law.
(1950's)
*BUT*
Having the Queen sign an order,
and Parliament okaying it does
not make for good TV. Nor does
it convey the tension that existed
because of the way the courtiers
and the Queen Mum treated Philip.
*Philip was born a prince* (b. 1921--
Greek-Danish royal family). *He had*
*to give up:*
*His faith (Orthodox). Although he
had been worshiping in the CoE
since he moved to UK.
*His surname (i.e. House of Glücksburg)
*His citizenships (Greece/Denmark)
*His royal style --H.R.H. (i.e. "His Royal
Highness" ... i.e. His rank within
the pecking order within royal circles
. *This means a lot to royals and to*
. *the courtiers* )
*His title of Prince of Greece (and any other
non-British titles --- Greek or Danish)
*to marry Princes Elizabeth of the UK*
*in 1947* Because of a 1917 law
by George V. of UK
From about the age of 6 or 7, or so
(maybe 10?) he had lived in UK with
his maternal grandparents' family;
the Battenberg(s) --> 1917 -->
--> Mountbatten(s)
Philip's mother was Princess Alice of
Battenberg (great-granddaughter of
Queen Victoria) who married Prince
Andrew, son of King George I of
Greece. Her royal style became
"Princess Andrew of Greece"
(As son of a monarch her husband
out-ranked her)
*1.)* The only grandchildren of Prince
Philip who carry the Mountbatten-
Windsor names are the son and
daughter of Prince Edward Duke
of Edinburgh.
Prince Andrew of UK Himself
CHOSE to have his daughters
titled as Princess (per. 1935 law
by George V.)
Prince Anne of UK and her husband
CHOSE NOT to have their children
given the prince/princess title
According to the law of 1935 only the
children and grandchildren of a
monarch can have the title of Prince
or Princess.
Queen Elizabeth had to issue a special
directive to allow George, Charlotte and
Louis to be designated as Prince/Princess.
(because they were the grandchildren
of the heir. This set them above the
other off-spring of any royals of their
generation -- There were none at the
time) George, Charlotte and Louis
are Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren.
That is why Archie and Lilibet were not
given prince/princess titles *until* Charles
ascended to the throne. -- NOT because
of "RACISM" -- per Meghan Markle (lies)
The last time Anne’s hair looked presentable…

too pretty to play princess anne tbh
Princess Anne was indeed a pretty youg woman in her earlier years, age has not been kind to her.

Just looked her up. Holy shit you weren't kidding. Margaret and her got all the looks in the fam. @@Ariana-wv4pf
All these actresses who played the young generation were too pretty. Clare Foy is gorgeous, no disrespect to the young Queen. Same thing with Vanessa Kirby, playing young Margaret.
