  • Congratulations in advance to ‪@pyramydair‬ I know there is a lot of anticipation for the release of this rifle based on how many folks watched our SHOT Show interview of Tyler Patner on the AvengeX, and I think you've delivered on the promises.
    I think the new AvengeX, or Avenge-X, or whatever it's technical name is, well, it's going to be a hit. This airgun is everything the Avenger was, and more. A bunch more.
    In this video PJ takes us from the Box to the Bench, showing you what you can expect from the latest offering from AirVenturi. You'll get trigger pull weight, a features overview, 32 and 50 yard accuracy without tuning, velocity without tuning and an overview of the features of this Tactical-Tube version of the .22 cal pellet rifle. I mention "without tuning" because just about everything that you'd want to adjust on this airgun can be adjusted...but a Box to Bench video is meant to show you what to expect on Day 1, and that's what this video is.
    For those who are wondering, this video was filmed on a private range and all reasonable and necessary safety precautions were taken. The rifle depicted is a pellet gun, shooting .22 caliber pellets powered by compressed air. It is not a firearm.
    Mounted on the airgun is an ‪@Element‬ Helix 6-24x50 SFP riflescope with ‪@Leapers_Inc‬ QD rings, and bipod duties were handled by a Scandanavian Airguns bipod. The pellets used were 18.13 grain JSB's from Predator International.

    Just ordered an Avenge X .22 cal. I'm new to PCP air rifles but grew up with BB guns and spring piston air rifles. I had my heart set on a FX Maverick but it was just more than I could spend (maybe a good thing after reading some of the comments). Worth mentioning is a PCP has a higher initial cost because you need an air source of some kind. After much debate I'm going to use an air tank rather than an air pump. That cost as much as the rifle so I'm saving up for that now. Geez

      @@ebikes2xs159 if you have ready access to a fill source the tank is a good way to go. I always recommend that people sort out the air source first when joining the PCP family.

      I received my Avenge-X classic wood stock in .22 cal this past saturday and I am planning to start the tunning process today with my chronograph but from my experience with my other first generation Avenger wood stock the first thing I will do is degassed and set the regulator to 1 bar only around 1500 psi to start from there. I only shoot with relative lightweights pellets my lightest are the crosman 14.13 and the heaviest are the JSB exact jumbos in 18 grams and also shoot with the 15.89 JSB the FX and the air arms diabolo fields 16 grams. I don’t shoot with slugs because they are not as accurate and precise as the pellets especially is we compared with the JSB pellets. The sweet spot to reach the best groups and consistency with all this pellets is to tune this airguns to shoot between 870 and 890 psi, this is the same tune I use in my three airguns including my Kaliburgun cricket II tactical .60 and use Arkens SH-4 second generation FFP 4-16x50 scopes with Arkens medium size rings in all my airguns with great success.

    How did you manage to remove the baffle from the shroud with out marring up the steel end cap? I have tried and also tried to remove the barrel from the shroud so I could clean and polish and can't get those caps to budge. The end cap come off nice no problem so I was able to mount my moderator but no luck on the others.

      There was no need to remove the baffle stack so mine is still in place. I think it might be epoxied in there.
      Removing the barrel from the action is pretty easy, just two set screws. I've not had a reason to take the shroud off of the barrel, so I'm not sure how that would be done.

    Hi... Perhaps (hopefully) you can help me with some information about this ?
    I've been reading about the Air Venturi PCPs and within the information text on the Avenger, this was part of the text : "The Air Venturi Avenger is a powerful PCP air rifle with moderating fully shrouded barrel and a maintenance free synthetic barrel. "
    What sort of synthetic material are the Avengers barrels made of since they're "maintenance free" ?? I'm used to steel barrels as well as barrels made from lightweight steel/aluminium alloys, having carbon wrapped around for rigidness and stability, but I can't seem to find any information on the subject of this so-called "maintenance free synthetic material" used for the Avenger rifles.
    Hopefully you'll be able to clarify this matter to me 😊

      Not sure. I filmed this one as it came to me.
      Since filming I dropped the reg pressure a little bit and backed off the hammer to bring the velocity down just a tad. It was easy to do and the re-tune only took about 10 minutes. It's a tunable airgun, so spending the time to find the right balance between the reg pressure and the hammer spring tension will be the difference between a consistent tune and a "bad" one.

      @WiscAirGunners  11 месяцев назад

      The stainless part equates to rust and corrosion resistance, something brass does naturally but mild steel is pretty bad at. Steel is harder than brass, so more resistant to deforming or scratching. Steel will expand or contract less with temperature variations. Which could effect performance. It’s also harder to machine, which effects cost.
