Like the Pyrenees, went there on a school journey in the late 60s and returned in the mid 80s on a joint parachute/climbing expedition with the UK Military working out of Pau. In fact, that year was when 2 Frenchman leaped from a mountain top with squares and low and behold PARAPENTE was born! Watched the news article on french news 👍👍🪂🪂

@@Andrey_Ostrikov yes mate September /October 1986, I took the sport up in 1987 and my business produced the very first dedicated Parapente harness in the UK. A basic model but still very much lighter, more comfortable and better than the Ex Parascending harnesses schools were using at the time 👍👍🪂🪂

@@carldowd406 That's really impressive! It must've been amazing to see the sport grow from the early days and be part of its development.

@@Andrey_Ostrikov yeah tbh honest Andrey it is and it all progressed very quickly. I was very aware during my parachute career that free-fallers were using places like Rhossili beach in Wales to kinda ridge soar but mountain launching developed very quickly. I had a British mountain guide come to me once to sell for him second hand what he thought was a paragliding canopy when it was actually a free-fall Rig 🤣🤣🤣🤣
