Fan noise (high pitch noise) are common in most thin laptops (ultrabooks) due to a thinner fan, especially with core i5 or i7 processors (even with core i3 processors). Most new thin laptops and ultrabooks have this issue.
If your laptop is new and it is an ultrabook like one of those above, this issue is easily fixable, no need to return your laptop thinking it is a permanent problem. Follow 2 simple steps shown here and you should be able to fix the fan kicking off every time you use your laptop.
No need to open your laptop and clean fan (as it is new laptop ..lol) just these simple two step settings will fix it permanently! Sample shown here is an HP Pavilion X360 ultrabook. Наука

If i get my fan loud silent, then it will be more bad for gaming? i have a acer nitro 5,
@@iixpeterx5545 yeah, it will start throttling only with passive cooling. the dude's problem is that even with light internet browsing, the fan still goes crazy. for heavy tasks like gaming, a fan is needed
Thank you, this worked!
Thank you so much!It works!😭
Worked! Thanks
Thank-you sir you save my life. I had to made the assignment.
Haha thanks, i saved one life
Thank you, your a life saver.
Thank you so much sir!!🙏🏻
if your laptop has a Intel Turbo Boost ,disabling that in bios will solve the issue right away ,also energy turbo boost off in bios and boot option on max NON turbo performance make a difference ,your laptop will be slightly slower on performing heavy tasks, but other then that you should barely notice any difference, and fans will be quiet
Problem solved. Excellent.
Thanks yaar... You saved me... ☺️
Thank you very much. It really helped me.

Hi Kumar, My new HP ENVY 360 (AMD ryzen 5 3500) lap hasn't got an option to change maximum processor speed as you mentioned. any suggestions?
I've had the same problem I kid you not when I say I bought my HP envy Ryzen 4700 U just today. It already has heavy fan noise I was wondering if you came to a solution.
Thank you so much for your excellent and clear explanation. I have a HP pavilion 15 ryzen 3 and had the same problem. I could resolve it but I have a question: why HP people sell the computer in this mode (fan always on)?
That's a very good question well HP has their own Technology of cooling the device that is called HP coolsense there is mentioned in this video this is basically a plugin or software you can say that is by default installed on most of new HP computers. HP things that coolsense is more intelligent in deciding when to cool down down the system and can act as an intelligent bot to cool the system when required and hence give optimal performance to the system. For coolsense to work, the default fan setting has to be always on so they let the Fun Run all the time and then let coolsense decide when to turn it off intelligently. However on contrary we have seen that it ends of keeping the fan on most of the time and it doesn't do a great job in general so the solution provided here is to go by the default Windows setting and not by what HP wants us to go with as its annoying. The default settings are also good enough and it is not going to harm your system if we do not go the HP way. In this particular case, we are switching on the fan only when it is required and that is decided by the Windows operating system and not by a third party application. Hope I answered your question
Thank you for video put i dont have a choice fan in my biose how can solve this problem thank you
I can't hear the sound of the fan over the sound of my HP Envy's fan lmao
Do you know what to do if you have a Lenovo yoga I didn't see the turn off fan option in the advanced settings please help me

Hi. I have a laptop from acer and in bios there is no option to turn off fans. I tried and even upgraded Bios, but it's still not working. Help!
I got to the last step but there wasn't the option ''fan always on''. Do you have any ideas what to do next?:) My computer is HP ENVY 13-ah0000 laptop
Thank You! I recently bought HP pavillion gaming laptop and it was hell damm loud ( even when I on the computer or trying to open Google Chrome ) I got soo annoyed of it !
Same here. Brought home a brand new HP Pavilion today - was making this noise from the moment I've powered it up. Now it's dead silent. Hope we're not overheating anything there as it's somewhat warm at the bottom.
If i get my fan loud silent, then it will be more bad for gaming? i have a acer nitro 5,

Hi brother I have a SSD i5 8th gen laptop , year passed & I thought my laptop is fan-less one,
unfortunately cooling fan frequently turns on & off. now
In task bar , I see CPU usage fluctuating from 2% - 65% without using the system.
If you have any solution or suggestion, Pls share
awesome
Here was the solution to my HP x360 fan noise issue. Everyone is talking about the fan speeds, but the fan should be virtually silent during use. You shouldn't even know that it's on at low speed.
Follow me here... You laptop chassis has flex. It's built to have a certain amount of flex. It's designed into the unit. The fan is inside of an enclosure. Sure, it might be dirty... but, more than likely, the metal plates and case of the fan enclosure is slightly bent, causing the fan blades to contact the enclosure. First, clean it out thoroughly. Take the fan enclosure apart. Careful not to lose the little screws. Take the fan blades out and clean them...REALLY clean them, with a clean, dry toothbrush, or something of the sort. Clean out ALL AREAS around the fan location. We're cleaning for two reasons. To make sure that no dirt or dust get into the fan, AND to make sure that no buildup is pushing against the fan enclosure in any way. Put the flat enclosure pieces on a flat glass table, and look to see if it's completely flat. Reassemble the fan and the enclosure, and plug it into the motherboard. Move the fan around and in different directions. See if you can detect the noise any longer. The fan should be running, but completely silent. No matter what the speed is. If you still hear the fan, that means that you're going to have to go back into the enclosure and do some bending and adjusting of the enclosure. Run the fan without the enclosure cover to see if it makes any noise. If it's silent, then the contact of the fan blades is probably occurring with the cover. Press it out gently with your fingers, and visibly inspect where it might be rubbing. Observe the fan's ability to spin freely throughout the process. Plug it into the motherboard before reassembling, and turn the computer on. Observe the fan and listen to the noise level. Once you've bent it to the right position, there should be no noise.
Now, you may want to remove any stickers and labels on the outside of the fan enclosure. The thickness of that sticker might be the difference between it being pressed out of shape again. This also might be a good time to reapply fresh thermal grease/paste to the cpu and heat sink. I removed several pieces of tape and some labels on the fan enclosure. Carefully route the wires and cables around the enclosure back into their correct places.
Reassemble, checking for noise at every step of the way.
My laptop is now still cycling and the fan comes on, but you just can't hear it, because of the rubbing issue. The bios and programming wasn't the problem. It was the enclosure being slightly bent.
Hope this helps, I'll post it here and elsewhere.

In my BIOS there’s no “System Configuration” option! I only have “file”, “Memory”, “protection”, “power”, “advanced”. What can I do?
Thanks Bro
Does this works on dell 7567 gaming???
Thanks, bro! You saved my much time!

Hi
I followed your procedure in my HP laptop, still I here the fan sound as same
i got huge problem with my laptop Hp pavilion 14-bk007nw i just bought it and the fan sound is killing me, downloaded speedfan and the fan is constantly on 2500 rpm, ive followed ur instructions but the fan is still raping my ears, the temperature is 40-45 degrees whole time, please help :[[
I did what you instructed but I still had to take My Computer to a Shop. The Fan was broken and there was alot of dust accumulated. What do you expect for a Five Year Old Computer. Either way, thanks so much for the information. Greatly appreciated.
Well in that case the fan had to be replaced
Thanks bro
Wc man
I tried the bios settings but its already disabled & switched off the cool sense. The fan is still on from the moment the laptop is on, the sound is not that annoying but when i use multiple tabs the noise gets really annoying. Brand new lap...just bought it today. Hp pavilion x360 14 convertible i5. Do you have any other tips to resolve this issue ? Thank you :-)
Yes there is another tip
Disable Intel Turbo Boost Technology which is enabled by default. You can disable or enable the technology with a switch in the BIOS. To disable it,
Enter the BIOS setup and from the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration.
Then, navigate to BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Performance Options > Intel (R) Turbo Boost Technology and press Enter.
Next, select any of the following setting and press Enter.
Enabled-Enables the logical processor cores on processors supporting hyperthreading technology.
Disabled -Reduces power usage and also slows down the maximum achievable performance of a system under some workloads.
Press F10 to save the changes and exit
Hi, I did everything what you said but it's already disabled. Tryed to switch off turbo boos trough the bios but my laptop doesn't have turboboost. So fan still loud. Someone says that it's fan controller issue. But it's new laptop HP Envy 13 ah0001na
Could you help me please? I bought 2 exactly same laptops with exactly the same fan issue

I come from a Hp Pavilion Gaming Laptop and I have the same problem ..the one with the coil whine..I bought this laptop 5 days ago and the sound is heard from the first day..I would remain grateful if you would help me get rid of this sound..
I also having same issue with the fan on my HP Pavilion laptop. The noise is sounds like I'm in a airplane cabin right next to jet engine. I've sent it in for fixes and the HP support replaced the fan, but the sound is still there. I'll try your method now. Hope it'll work.
Sure pls share results
YEA MINE TOO
@@mikarofl Follow the video to change the fan setting. Mine got little better, but not by much. Then I found another video. Type power & sleep in the windows search. On right side there is "Additional power setting." Click it. Whatever setting that you are using the most of the time, click on the Change plan settings. Then, click on the "Change advanced power settings." Click on "Processor power management," then "Maximum processor state." Change the setting between 50% to 75%. Adjust the setting according to your satisfactory.
@@jhl9599 It really does works ! The fan is not making much noise anymore . Thankss appreciate your help ! 🥰
Wow I have the same laptop 2016 pavilion and makes loud sound
I have a lenovo 330s with intel core i5 8250u, the pc is amazing but the fan noise is unsustainable. Can i apply your method to my notebook?

+Joe Carl Bunda yes it will run when required only but not all the time your laptop is open. It should work on any laptop with windows 10
Joe i got the same laptop with the same problem
Hi, I have the hp envy x360. In the bios settings the fan was already disabled and there is no coolsense installed. Still the fan is really loud (no programs open, just the laptop being on). Is there any other way to fix it? thanks!

Bios can get to bios screen via F2 or other function keys easiest way to adjust change from legacy boot for example.
The fan noise is on when i disabled it then exit the bios setting and its still noisy .
It doesnt work for me why ..
Call so disable the intel turbo boost from bios

I dont think disabling the fan off is a good idea, you would need it to work when your comp gets hot, otherwise your computer will be overheated. The safest way is to go into Power Options and set your Maximum Processor Rate to lower than 50%.
Fyi its not disabling fan atall... Its disabling fan always on
i still have issue on my envy x360 8th i did all you say still noisy on startup and i did uninstall cooler sense but nothing happened pleas help me
If there are any unwanted or processor heavy applications scheduled to run at startup, you can disable them if not required, like adobe updator, apple updated for itunes etc
does it work for huawei matebook d14?
Yeah fr did you try it??

OMG, my Sony Vaio doesn't have the option Configuration, so there is no Fan option also :(:( sad.
