Ur information about Emergency medicine course is very good .
But, fear is still there to work in emergency department due to the aggressive behaviour of public in all states, against the doctors, in emergency department.
I still can visualise one HOD medicine in a city in Madya Pradesh, who was manhandled by a politician and locals as despite his best efforts, he couldn't save a pt. He perhaps resigned after that incident.
I also visualise another doctor killed in West Bengal during corona time.
I also remember a Gold medalist Gynaecologist in Rajasthan, being framed by a local politician, and she died due to suicide.

Now that NMC has scrapped out EM as a mandatory requirement in medical colleges, is it a good idea to go for EM as a speciality?

    Speciality for adrenaline junkies.
Emergency medicine is one of the top paying speciality for a fresh passout DNB/MD post graduate today.
Lot of opportunities in India and abroad.
In present situation Radiology and EM are the top paid specialities.
    More opportunities in south india.
