Great Review, this is the best board I own for Powder at the moment, it absolutely flies through powder. On our mountain in British Columbia where we get 4 feet a week, this is my go-to board for flying through trees and going down back side drops. Anyone who steps on this board knows it is the sickest f-ing thing
Hey man ik this is an old video but I thought it would be the most relevant. I love your channel and everything you put forward for snowboarding. I just bought a Camel Two Gimbal God and am super stoked! For reference I am 5’11” about 175 with a size 11 boot. I got a 157 camel two and am trying to decide on what bindings to pair with it. Avran - thanks as always for the honest reviews, I purchased the ‘22-23’ version of the Camel Two and could not be happier with my purchase. I’m a southerner, and as such own a quiver of boards since once I arrive at the resort it’s luck of the draw in terms of conditions, and man-o-man did I get lucky this year in Utah! I’m 5’10” and 173lbs but I sized a bit down with a 153 Camel Two since I intended this board to be my tree-stash powder-hunter. What most impresses me with the Camel Two is the near-effortless turn initiation in the powder. It almost seemed like all I had to do was just think about turning and the Camel Two would do it for me. I couldn’t ask for a better board for riding trees. The ‘22-‘23’ version has a beautiful graphic and it’s almost annoying trying to convince people that Camel Two rides better than it looks! Thanks again for hosting a great channel.
I have an OZ Custom Woody as All-Mtn and look for something better for Pow Days but still option to go groomers. On my list: Jones Hovercraft - Bataleon Camel Two and Salomon Dancehaul. The Dancehaul I can get for 350 brand new - the others are 100-150 more. Can you tell me differences and maybe a recommandation - I know it depends and is preference as well - but maybe one has such a drawback or outstanding feature that you would go for that one?! What wood be your choice for riding trees and next to piste? I assumed the Hovercraft is the sufiest one. The Dancehall is the most playfull all versatile one and the Camel Two is inbetween !?
Hey avran. I'm with capita mega Mercury 23. Looking for second board for more pow days but also work on groomers. My 2 options are Bataleon camel two 2024 or rome service dog 2025 Which one you recommend?
Love the honest reviews man! But I think we need your "Top 5 Snappiest Decks" review asap. Every board these days seems to barely have enough snap. I'm new to snowboarding and would find that top 5 useful. All the best to you man!!!
This review lead me to buy the 2023 version of this board and it's the freaking best! I'm looking to pair bindings with it now and just wondering if you have any recommendations? I'm leaning towards something on the stiffer end like the Nitro Team Pros, Arbor Cypress, and Salomon Hologram. I'm thinking the Holograms may be an ideal fit to suit the surfy nature of the Camel Two but I'm worried they may be too much of a "loose" feel for steep/technical whistler terrain and groomers? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you Avran!
Great review! Which one do you consider better for carving Camel 2 or Party Wave+ ??? Also, would you recommend the 153 or 157 size for the Camel 2 ?? I weigh 162lbs, 10.5 boot size, 184cm tall
Really Like this board and it would be my first board purchase. I love the directional shape. I am riding mostly groomers, occasional pow pockets and rarely ride switch or in the park. I'm intermediate. I ride blues and some black diamonds. I am also an advanced surfer, so that dictates my snowboard style more. I snowboard 2 to 7 times per year sometimes in the sierras sometimes in Colorado, but a lot in SoCal where we rarely have 4 feet of powder. I am 5'5" and weigh 138 lbs. and I wear a size 9.5 boot and was considering this board in a 149. What are your thoughts?
Angry Snowboarder great. And if you had to pick this or the thunder for a resort pow board to complement and evil twin. I’m guessing you’d take the camel 2?
@@maxnguyen2875 Because I can and realize that one board is more specialized than the other. Thus letting it hit a different demographic. Don't over think things, it'll only confuse you more.
In some of your other Bataleon reviews you talk about how the 3BT can sometimes create a lack of pop if you’re trying to pop off your edge, or be lacking grip if you try to rail a turn off the back foot. Do you find this board lacking in the same way?
Love the reviews man! I’ve been looking at getting either this or the thunder. I mostly ride in Whistler, BC so will be riding a mix of pow/ groomers. Which one would you recommend? I’m about 215 size 10 boot so I’m thinking 157 in the C2 or 158 in the Thunder.
I'm thinking of making a trip to Silverton to charge on some big wide open terrain. My all mountain freestyle deck is a Mercury 55 and I have a Simple Pleasures 51 for laying trenches at the resort and riding lower angle pow/trees. For the Silverton terrain I'm torn between the Camel 2 53, Hovercraft 52, and Ultracraft 52. Which would you suggest and why?
Camel 2 as you won't be on any groomer and that 3BT will help funnel pow better than the other two. It's stiff where it counts but not so over kill that if you hit a flat section you can utilize the flex to help you pump the natural terrain.
6'2 and 240lbs so I'm assuming 157 is the best size for me? Also have a size 12 boot, you think its wide enough? Want it for trees and deep powder days but still like mobbing groomers and occasional drops and jumps... Ive checked this board out at my local shop and I'm really considering it... any help would be greatly appreciated. Also do you have an opinion on the black base vs white? Thanks. See you out there...
Love your reviews so thank you. Been watching everything I can about powder boards the last month and thought I had it narrowed down to the Party Wave+ but the online help at bataleon is saying 157 is too short and try the 162 surfer or 161 camel two. I’ll be spending the winter working at Big Sky so I really want something powder specific to compliment my Yes Standard. Any recommendation is greatly valued and I’m not entirely set on bataleon but certainly interested in that 3BT. 6’4” 215lbs union stratas
Lets put if this way if I was living in Big Sky I'd go with a Surfer or Camel Two over the Party Wave +, they're just better boards for that terrain. With that said you don't want a Warpig, you'd be better suited with a Super Pig if you did the pig series from ride. My other suggestions would be the Endeavor Archetype, Rome Stalefish, Jones Mind Expander or Hovercraft, maybe a Libtech Orca or MC Wayfinder possibly, Burton Skeleton Key or Deep Thinker, Weston Japow.
I’m 5’8” 180 and size 10 boot. Currently on the 2018 161 ride berzerker. Looking for a smaller nimble cambered powder board that can maneuver in trees and is stable enough to charge fast on groomers and get they chop. In between this, the camel two, and the ride ultra mind expanded. Thoughts?
Avran, what's your feelings on 3BT when carving out off the powdery areas??? Does the sidekick by lifting the effective edge ends front and rear reduce the bite you get when laying it over or do you just need to engage much harder.
The thing with 3BT is it comes down to which version they use and on what camber/flex profile. Some of it works fine, others it leaves you wondering why the fuck you're riding it.
Yo Avran I have a Lib Tech Box Knife 154. Looking to add a directional to the quiver Just got two days at Winter Park (last wednesday and friday) I like going really fast unless there is powder. This, or DC HR House of Powder, or Niche Pyre? Thanks 5'10 175

If you are riding on Powder you need that 157 man, that 157 is going to keep you on top of the powder way better than the 151. Also the Camel 2 is absolutely the way to go with the shovel that they call a tip, you'll love this board.

Party Wave is softer, more playful, and a party board. Camel 2 is a ripper, stiffer, more aggressive. If you're riding lower angle mellow pow get the Party Wave.
