For the dutch commentator this was his last race in 30 years he could commentate on after this he wouldnt so its a beautiful moment for him after 30 years he finally sees a dutch racer win the championship

Can we talk about the French commentator's voice cracking for the whole commentary, the passion of the sport is beautiful to watch
I don't give two sh*ts about whether this was unfair or not, this was f*cking epic to the absolute end and when we are honest, it was also damn unfair that Verstappen had his tyre blowout in Baku, Hamilton had mad luck in Imola with the red flag and Bottas played bowling with the RedBulls in Hungary. Verstappen did deserve this title

@@matthewruss Hamilton never really deserved the title. Sure, he closed up in the second half, but all in all, Verstappen was pretty unlucky, while Hamilton was very very lucky. The FIA was bad the whole season, not only at the last race. It was pretty much doomed to happen regardless of Hamilton or Verstappen being in front.I mean even the Saudi GP was already a shit show by the FIA. Anyways, I'm totally fine with Hamilton winning the race. The race was his, the title on the other hand was not

Olav Mol has been commentating over 500 F1 races and this was his very last (as official commentator) It could not have been a more perfect fairy-tale ending for his amazing career. I've listen to Olav for the past 25+ years. If you want to hear something really special, look up Max's first win (and the first win of any person from the Netherlands in F1). Olav gets really emotional, just like me while typing this

@@lila7-7 Well, I've been listening to this commentator for years (I'm Dutch too) and it's always annoyed me how bland he is. Which is why last year I switched to the English commentaries instead.
@@gammaraider To be honest, I have always hated him-Olaf Mol-and that effing dentist. They really did Allard Kalff dirty too. However, only when I heard the new ViaPlay commentators I had to admit to experiencing a classical case of “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” Switched to F1 TV only to learn the thick British bias in this British sport called F1.
The Hungarian commentator said: "Verstappen can open DRS, because he was behind at the detection line."
He forgot the rules for a moment, because it was too epic.
Same for the french. He was like "Hamilton will have DRS on the straight". In the heat of the moment they forgot the rulebook they know so well.
He did correct himself right after but it was cut out in this video

this still brings tears to my eyes know this was the last year Olaf Mol was doing the commentary on dutch F1. He was able to witness the first dutch win, the first dutch pole, and on his last race he got to witness a Dutchman winning the title!!! He did the dutch F1 commentary since 1991 (for 30 years) This makes me so happy it brings tears to my eyes!!

For me, this was by far the best sports moment that ever took place. I had tears in my eyes. I will never forget this moment. 🤩
I only started to watch F1 back in 2016. Since his first race for RedBull I instantly wanted to see Verstappen as a World Champion. When my Father, my brother and I watched this race in live, we immediately started to cry and shout out in joy when Verstappen overtaked Hamilton. Since then everytime when I rewatch these videos I am crying. We didn't wanted the championship to be decided like this, but we are glad that it ended with Verstappen's victory.
(By the way, I Am Hungarian and I think our commentators made a really good work during the last 5 laps. Respect)

But then, I'm Dutch.
The videos showing just the RB garage or Christian Horner during that last lap are just as epic to watch. When I feel a bit down or tired, I just watch that 🙂
He would have been second after his tire change, and never have beaten Max from the nr 2 position, without DRS. Max is one of the best and smartest defenders on the grid.
Must feel bad to win in those awful conditions…

@@MaFd0n we just had 2 crazy good races with Zandvoort and Monza and behind Max it's very exciting, the 2nd until the 5th team (Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin and McLaren) can change every race. If you think F1 is a complete snooze fest you should watch another sport because the dominant era of Schumacher or Hamilton was way worse. If you can't see the exciting things in the field right now F1 clearly isn't for you. 21 was by far the most exciting season in a long while and that is definitely not the standard for F1.

Merc lost because they didn't pit 44 with 42-lap old hard tires, and Max pitted and got fresh softs.
Toto and Merc got outsmarted by Horner and Red Bull - it's that simple!

In all my years of watching F1, that was the most exciting season with the perfect ending. I was delighted to see Max win after following his career since 2015. Absolutely brilliant to hear the excitement of the commentators. Best lap ever...and I'm British.
Max made F1 a sport again. i have been watching F1 since 2006 and the major issues at those times were that there was not enough info available on the screen to know what's going on, with all the info that's available on screen along with the more fighting that can happen with the new regs, it's absolutely great. as soon as i saw max i knew he was a generational talent and the guy proved me right
I went to my first few F1 races back in the early to mid-nineties, and after the first pit stops nobody had a clue anymore who was in front. 🤣
Later we brought a transistor radio to get the necesary info.

Every time I see this it is confirmed that Lewis had a fair shot. Got alongside Max twice. But Max defended the corners while Lewis kept the door wide open.
In a corner where simulator racers know overtakes are possible. Lewis never appreciated simulators.
One thing is for sure, Max will consider his thousands of hours of simulator practice time well spend.

Masi made the only right call. This epic and absolutely thrilling Formula 1 season finale, is giant formula 1 history. Imagine if this thrilling season, with both competitors on exact equal points in the last race, would have ended behind a safety car...
There were no right call, he decided to create entertainment but broke rules and damaged sporting fairness. People were angry.
If he followed the rules and ended the race behind the safety car, people would complained he ruined the championship and would have been angry.

@@denishuber7758 That's the thing, they couldn't plan for rules being bent at the end. If all cars had unlapped and the safety car had come in at the end of the next lap following the message, Merc would have won. Red Bull had nothing to lose, whatever Race Control decided.
It's the whole safety car procedure that I dislike. You can drive perfectly, with perfect strategy throughout the race, build a 20s gap and have it all go to waste because the car in P21 crashed 5 laps before the end.

Masi deserved a statue for this, and should not have been sacked for this. He made the only right call: end the championship racing. If Lewis would have changed his tyres as well, he would have had the upperhand.

Well, his "call" broke the rules. Therefore it was not the right decision. If Lewis had pitted, he would have lost track position to Max, which would have cost him the championship if the rules were applied correctly.
I love the fact that rent free in my head is that, u cannot even blame red bull or verstappen. They took the gamble to make a pit stop and they win it. If u want to blame them for radio comm with masi, mercedes does the same too.
