It stinks that we as fans can’t celebrate a generational talent in Max to the fullest because we wanted either to win but in a way that wasn’t controversial. I may be alone in this but I specifically remember having the thought that this was stuff of movies. That the sport I love was going to give us something magical and my only hope was that it ended in a way that wasn’t controversial. I am of the camp that feels that Lewis got cheated out of it. But it sucks because Max didn’t do anything wrong and deserved to win.
They were divided well before this race. I don't think anyone was robbed. Had they had all the lapped cars overtaken prior, it wouldn't have been such an issue. With all of the distraction of Toto and Christian, it mades managing the safety period more difficult and likely why it took longer.

Not quite what he said. He said both were deserving of a championship and Max had a great season. Today he was lucky with the safety car. It's true, on that day he caught a break. In a season full of bad breaks it sometimes that's what it takes. In the end he is the one that put himself in a situation to win the Championship and yes like anything luck gets involved. If that was true and he truly got fired because of 1 misinterpreted rule that didn't benefit Mercedes, that's pretty messed up and looks really bad on FIA. I like to think it was because of the overall job performance and that he would have been removed either way, but sadly Im not so confident that's true.

I wouldn't call it a massive role as in the end it was just 1 lap on one track, it just gets remembered most because it was on the last lap and the last track. If the same incident happens in the first race of the season, no one is talking about it.
Still that said, I don't really think he deserved to lose his position. Especially when the investigation basically supported him and couldn't find him at fault. But sadly I think him pissing off Mercedes was what it took. It shows you a lot about the state of the sport and who truly controls it.

Looking back, Over the whole season Max lost more position on track by debatable decisions by the race director and stewards then Lewis. And the controversial one in this race was fully accoreing regulation, so I don't understand why people would be salty in 2022.
They haven’t watched any race. They were driving in it. It’s hard for them to know what exactly is going on in other drivers races, plus drivers generally don’t want to get involved with things like this
