Still gives me goosebumbs and tears in my eyes. Max fought so hard all season. He so deserved this. And I still so admire his strength, focus and determination to not give up until the finish. The whole race he gave everything he had, never gave up, the team did awesome on strategy and his engineer GP is something special... Merc tried to influence Max through press, by constantly feeding the press. Such a strong performance by Max to stay focussed and not buckle under the immense pressure 👍👊💪
Exactly this! MB/Toto/Lewis tried e verything to influence the raceresult. No Michel, no. The saftycar is not going full throttle at the straights (4 times!). There is still a lot of debry on the track and so on. But no, MB never gives up trackposition for new tires. Max surely needed a miracle, and what a miracle he got! But hey, remember for example the blown-up tire in Baku. Max didn't asked for anything of this. He just kept racing untill the chequered flag. That's what racing is all about! And to be hounest: he simply was the deserved champion of 2021.
@@jjgwjcew Well if we are being fair both Merc and RB did everything they could to get their way in the negotiations in AD21 but yes i see where you are comming from. Max was 100% the unlucky driver of the 2 in the season both in what happened with the car and FIA decisions over the season, but thats racing at the end of the day. And he finally got some luck his way and it was enough

My daughter is 14 years old, she never got into any sports, but for some reason, she really got into F1 in 2021… specifically rooting (with me) for Max. This was the only joyous sporting moment we’ve ever had together and may be the only one. It was pure joy, we tackled each other and fell to the floor. I’ll remember it forever.

As controversial as that last race was, he totally deserved that title over the season. Especially taking into account Silverstone and Hungary where Mercedes wiped him out of the race.

The moment Max Verstappen crossed the finish line, I went crazy with happiness and started jumping for joy. Thanks Max for the beautiful seasons 2021 and 2022. I'm looking forward to his third championship title in the 2023 season.

Being known has to do with a longer history as a champ, the sponsors and marketing, Lewis' starlike behaviour and a lot of black fans and british speaking fans. Max' career is much shorter, comes from a small country and he doesn't seek publicity that much thusfar. Still, many millions of F1 fans all over the world were undeniably rooting for Max to win the 2021 season.

People didn't watch the entire 2021 season live and especially this final lap won't understand what it meant! All the stars aligned for the perfect end of the perfect season. This will NEVER happen again and I am so happy to have witnessed it.

After witnessing Lewis try to kill Max at Silverstone this was the perfect ending to say screw you Lewis …. Max deserved the title and Lewis deserved Prison time for his dirty filthy driving.

You are absolutely right. It was an all out assault on Max. A few laps later, Leclerc did the same thing and then it went well. Lewis still had a small chance to be #1. He did this at Silverstone to drive Max out on purpose.

The whole influence of Merc and Totos team with FIA and trying to bend things burst like a bubble. Max truly deserved the championship. He was given penalty for pushing Lewis out in first lap. In the last race Lewis did the same but got away with the penalty. Cry baby Lewis never deserved it anyways.

I think social media statistics will say otherwise about popularity. You can enjoy someone's success without putting anyone else down, that just makes you look bitter and jealous.
Not everyone hates Verstappen. Sure there's nationalism in F1 somewhat but not everybody supports Hamilton just because he's British. Obviously at Silverstone you're going to get alot of Hamilton fans though, but that's not a representative crowd of overall British fans.
Ik ben een Max fan maar Hamilton is een fantastische coureur met buitengewone klasse waar ik enorm van genoten heb. Vooral in zijn jaren bij McLaren.omdat hij toen meer weerstand had en zijn klasse meer kon tonen . Beetje respect kan geen kwaad. Van iemand kleineren wordt je zelf niet groter of beter van.

Tell me why are we all so crazy to pay and watch the F1. I'am a real big fan but since Max became worldchamp we have to pay 60,00 euro to watch. And how many people can't afford this??
Yes maybe you can mis the money, but because you pay for it the poor people can't watch and thats why I don't ever pay for F1.

Here is a way to compansate:
Take the outherline of the screen. 4 sides and keep it full of commercials while the race goes on between these lines.
So like this if you think that everyone deserves to watch F1 and not only the people how can afford it.

You can criticise me all you want, but rules are rules and they must be upheld. Ok sure, as a Lewis fan, i agree, it was a bit boring at times. You simply cannot change rules just to please crowds. Social media portrays both drivers in a very negative light, but in reality they were good friends.

They both deserved it. Imo Massi had unlapped the cars 1 round earlier just what Alonso also asked for. Then we had not so much trouble and hate reactions.
