DK2 Wood Chipper/Shredder Review: We will demonstrate how our wood chipper works with large branches and share our two years of experience with the chipper.
Great video. Every chipper has a learning curve. Thats an awesome machine.
Thank you !
This is very helpful, intelligent review. Thank you so much.
Thank you :) We like our wood chipper a lot !
@@Peek-a-Lake where are you from
I live on an urban lot in Seattle. Some leaves and branches, but far less than in the video.
So I've never been in the market for a chipper, but I do have some leaves and branches to dispose of. I will outline my methods, in case they might be useful to someone.
I have a hedge that needs to be clipped twice per year. I pile up all those branches in a corner of the yard, and let time compost the leaves so that they fall off the branches. Once the leaves have fallen off, they get raked into the compost pile.
Other twigs and branches get cut off and reduced with two handled loppers. Bigger branches get cut to size on my table saw, dried and burned in my wood stove.
The smaller branches get run over several times with my lawn mower until they are reduced to very little. My old lawn mower gets a workout, but I've been doing this for many years without a problem. When completed, I'll sharpen the blade using a file.
That works for me!
Thanks for sharing your process! That sounds like a pretty effective system you've got going on! Utilizing the natural composting process is a great way to manage yard waste without needing a chipper.
You can use branches down to 2 inches for firewood, I do that.
Yes, good idea!
Nice review, how has the machine been holding up? Thanks
Perfect machine, chipping it all for us !!!
Love this machine but I am from Nepal. Is it possible to ship? Also like to know about life and warranty of machine. spare parts as well
As far as I remember, we have a 3-year warranty: 1 year from the manufacturer and an additional 2 years through VISA. Simply contact the nearest dealer or the factory for shipping details
those chipper blades look really chewed up
Yes, we use the chipper a lot, but blades are still strong
How often are you sharpening/changing your cutting blades? Looks like a great unit.
We have never sharpened the knives yet; they are dual-edge, and we will simply flip them by the end of this season.
@@Peek-a-Lake thank you. I am looking into one of these units or a pto driven unit for the rear of the tractor.
We have a Kioti tractor, and I thought about buying the rear chipper for the tractor. However, I decided to buy this one because we use the backhoe a lot, and I wouldn't want to remove it every time.
@@Peek-a-Lake that is where we are in the thought process!
The problem with most of these are that they are not self feeding
looks like a self feeding for small branches
If it’s 6 inches I’m using it as fire wood
agreed, 6 inches are good for firewood !
Mine just died. Battery after 2 days? Waiting to get battery replacement as it wont recharge
Oh no, our battery is still good, so there's no issue
is this wood chipper shipped world wide?
yes
