My Predator started chipping about like that this year (3rd year using at home). Took a little over an hour to get to the blades, sharpen them and reassemble. Was well worth it. Chips are around 3/4" square and nice and flat for the most part. I keep all of my White Oak chips and use them in my smoker. I also did a couple of Hickory trees, I use those chips as well. Then I make lump charcoal with both those hard woods. I also have 52 Cedar trees that I work as well. My wife takes those chips and makes closet sachets out of them. Sells them to a store here in Branson. Anything left that I have that is big enough, I make cutting boards and/or Cedar planks for grilling.
Depends on your needs watch the video and look the piles they each make. This is done for fuel for gasification. The blue drum chipper is the best for that application. But for garden Id go with the HF unit or the Orange unit. The orane unit makes nice fine chips for composting. If for landscaping with a drum chipper.
Matt I wonder if they would even chip running on wood gas. I was listening to the chippers you were testing and they bog down pretty good running on gasoline. What’s your thoughts?
If you are doing small engines under 1000cc forget this and go see my charcoal units. That is a better way. This is a dead end and waste of time and money at this scale. Wood Gasifiers are for Trucks / Charcoal Gasifiers are for power generators.
Now I know what I want to buy 🎉🎉🎉

🎉🎉🎉 I love it
🎉🎉🎉 Thank you
After ~6 years, maybe your old Harbor Freight chipper needs a good blades sharpening?
That's what I came to say. A little unfair comparrison.
The bonehead didn't think of that prior.
thanks for the information, I was wondering as to what type of wood chips can be used in the gasifier.
So which one won out? I am looking for a chipper..

@@Thrive-Off-Grid thanks .. I need gasification.. I am looking at a pto chipper for my tractor.. I have a lot of wood to chip :)
@@bradmesserle999 Look into charcaol first. Learn crawl before you walk then walk before run with 100% wood fuels.
@@Thrive-Off-Grid yes I agree.. but I am up to my eyeballs in wood.. I don’t know what to do with..
@@bradmesserle999 Look up the Whitlox Tilt barrel charcoaling method. Time better spent making charcoal.

The Harbor Frieght unit has ran on more wood gas than gasoline. I just recently took the adapter off as it is sold to a new home.
I will be adapting the Landworks probably this week and will be doing a video on that as well. The Handy is also sold.
What is your screen set up? Size and dimensions?
Quarter 1/4 screan. I just made a tray using 2X4's and invert it at a 45* angle.

@Thrive-Off-Grid i make chips for bbqs, restaurants, resorts and need a better screening method.
That super handy doesn’t feed very well.
Get a Champion. It will chip quicker and smaller-20-1!!
