It's a stupid design, blowing everything into a small pile at the bottom like that. Most Chippers blow it out of a chute. That makes it possible to load a wheelbarrow or bag.
I think it's a trade-off. Shredders or mulchers seem to often expel at the bottom so they're less likely to jam.
Hmm, nah, it's a stupid design. Did you see the guy down on his hands and knees clearing the chute out around the 3:20 mark? I have a small 7HP Landworks chipper. It sprays the chips out between 5-10 feet away. It spreads them out real nice so I don't have to collect them or handle them.@@markbifferos2765

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but the design has no benefit over other chippers and just creates a lot of work cleaning the chips out of the bottom. I have a small 7HP Landworks chipper that I purchased in September 2023. I researched wood chippers ahead of time and this was one of the videos I came across. My chipper (and most chippers) has a guide plate on the end so the chips can go into a bag or container. I take the guide off and allow the chips to spread out around the wooded area I'm clearing brush from. I am very happy with my chipper and gave it five stars on Amazon. I have one. Power is too big for this small job which unnecessarily cost too much gas. Top load not easy to shred leaves especially dry hay. Blades not last long and very difficult to replace new ones. Cutting chips size is too fine for me I wish it’s adjustable to big size mulch. Overall, when improved some small parts quality and design it’s a good home owner machine for yard work.

All shredders / chippers are good at chipping fresh cut material. How is this one at chipping dried out debris?? Anyone any experience??

Incorrect. It's the exact opposite. Wet wood is harder to chip, saw, split, etc. Dry is much easier.

I too would like something that shreds wood on a small scale and can shred leaves waste as well as brassica waste without it being bunged up.

@slowboat6021 I emailed Haecksler team which I think is a Dutch firm based in Europe that offer high quality wood chippers/shredders but they’re €6k plus which domestically is too much for me. Perhaps if I was going to start a business then maybe, but I’m not.
Not sure exactly on the price I’m considering paying, but I have had a small look at the Forest Master FMDD-MUL 6HP which says it tackles “all” garden green waste. It’s retailing around £600 and will chip wood up to 50mm diameter.
I guess anything cheaper and it’s electric based and probably designed for dry material like brown matter (leaves) and no good for green.
I’ll update this post if I get anything. Let you know how it works and if it’s suitable.
I recently bought a second hand forest master 15 hp with electric start for £500 .It's like new and very impressive.Also mulches paper etc.Has a tow bar for my lawn mower so no pushing round!

I know that your question is older now, but a couple of weeks ago, we bought a
DK2 OPC513.
I had been looking for an electric model, but none of them could chip up to 3". I wanted to avoid a gas version, but this went on sale AND I got an estimate to take down just 1 tree and that was going to be approx. 2X the full price of the one we bought.
So I figured, I'd rather spend LESS than pros want, do it myself and have something left over to show for it!
NO REGRETS!
This machine is amazing! I had no idea how well they just work.
Plus, this has a Kohler motor! These motors have a history of over 100 years of being high quality.
I can say this, we are not regretting this purchase!
I was able to do all that I needed and rather quickly too.
I don't use the bag, however. Rather, I used it in the areas where we wanted the "mulch" to be on the ground and just adjusted the shoot to spread it for me.
