I hit hard when you were talking about someone telling us something we would do 10 years ago and us not believing them.. if someone would’ve told my 18 year old self 10 years ago where I would be at now and what I would have done since then.. I would have laughed in their face. God has definitely humbled me from being a judging man to an understanding one..
I remember when I first read this years ago in my twenties and was horrified. Allen I appreciate your taking the time to share and teach on these verses.
As long as I have been going to church, I have not heard a pastor cover this story of the Bible. If so, I may have not went that particular Sunday and missed it. Allen did a phenomenal job of breaking this story down.
Actually about 8 years ago, I heard a lady give a message from Judges 19, but she included the Good Samaritan. She said do we ignore people based on what we don't like, or we willing to help people no matter who or what they are. Thanks Pastor Allen. It was a good message
Yes, I read this a long time ago and was so disturbed that I had to put the bible down. I came back to that story months or a long time later when I could stomach it more. However, I was still disturbed. It reminded me of Genesis 19:4. You are the only minister I've ever heard teach on this. You've given me some clarity on chapters 20 & 21. I just couldn't understand why the husband cut his wife into pieces. It's probably because the story was so disturbing to me I couldn't see past it. (Just as the Dinah incident and the story of Tamar). Thank God I have read it, and you've explained it better for my understanding. Keep teaching us brother Allen.
I'm at 19:13 in this content. I just stopped it because I remember this story sooooo very well. This was such a tragic story. I was shocked this story was in the Bible. However, a huge lesson was learned in this story. I'm going to continue now. Glory to God for Allen to cover this story.
This is the first time I heard a message from this passage. I read this passage few years back, was so traumatized that I didn't read more about it. But hearing you now has put my mind to rest. Thank you
This was a awesome video... gave me chills and a better understanding of how all my actions will have consequences... even if they are not good... Thank God for His grace and mercy 🙏🏻
That scripture in Judges shattered me when I heard it last year because it is absolutely shocking. But!!! The lessons you gave made absolute sense and I found your lessons to be so true and right. Thanks for your insight. 🙁

I knew which story you were going to mention as soon as I heard you say it's the most disturbing. I felt the same way the first time I heard this story in the Bible in a year with Father Mike. Thank you so much for this video. You picked the story apart and interpreted it so well . Thank you as well for the trigger warning Shared
Such a great video. I had never read through the entire story. Sobering and I too was struck by "You can choose your sin, but not the consequences." Powerful
In all my years have NEVER read this or heard about it…I know of other stories in the Bible of incest and rape but this right here😧😧😧😧…..but your breakdown is on time….everything but God has been first in my life as of late and my life has been spiritually chaotic. I was praying and asking for forgiveness and this just shows Gods grace to remind me of my need for Him daily🙏🏾
Hi Allen. Just wanted to give you feedback. I’ve read this story many times, but hearing it so passionately expressed by you it really touch my soul. Such a devastating story. 😢. I love these types of videos. Great one. !! Thanks.
Mr. Parr, thank you so, so much for taking a historical event that cannot be taught in Sunday School or Bible Studies and teaching a Godly message with it!! I have no doubt that you are anointed by God!! God Bless You Brother and Your Ministry!!
This was one of the most disturbing stories I had ever read in the Bible. The first time I read it - it stayed with me for weeks. When I talk about it with other people, I get so worked up about it. Thank you for talking about this.
EXCELLENT teaching video! God's Word does not shy away from telling the good and bad. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God ..." 2Tim 3:16. I once heard: "Choices are optional, but the consequences are set."
Thank you for going over this I recently read this and was bewildered. It reminded me of of emitt till and how his mother left his casket open so people could see the evil that was done to him when he was murdered. That visual helped move the needle a lil more for us in the movement.
Thank you brother. I love your teaching so much. I am living a life of consequences, but I praise God and I have no right to expect any particular thing. I know that my life is better than I deserve.
I to am living a life of consequences, and regret. But thanks be to God who had mercy on me, because it could have been worse, in fact, I could not even be here. Thank you Lord for being so good to me.💞🙏🙏💞
Thank you for this, it is very insightful, there are some really rough stories in the Bible this being one of them. I love your point about drifting from God how it leads you toward things you never thought you would do and has consequences that you do not control.
I am so glad that you talked about this story because I cry everytime I get to that part. I never understood why this history was added in. Thank you for helping me understand.
Thank you for preaching on this story. It was a horrible story and made me feel sick and sad for the woman and all those affected by it. You explain how sin trickles down from one bad decision on down. God’s great grace is sufficient. But for the grace of God, there go I. So thankful for His great love for me.

So, wanted to say, WELL DONE!
That is funny!!! This very section of scripture did trigger trauma in me many years ago when I was young in the Lord. It made me so angry with the Lord as I thought that He approved of what this man did to his concubine. It took me a while to realize people's actions don't always reflect God's will or heart ❤️

Yes!! First time I read it, I closed the bible and stared at it for minutes, speechless. My mind was what did I just read. It is still so messed up. He wanted take her back with such urgency from her dad's to just give her away like a piece of meat. Then he just tell her to get up, as she doesn't he cut her up. I was born in a Christian home, imagine as a little kid reading this part of the Bible. I was never able to understand why God would allow such thing but now as a grown up I understand, especially now that I see how society is. Thanks for your retelling of this part of scripture. I am preparing a message for this Sunday on the parable of the wheat and the tares and this so fits in with it. Such a great teaching. I have learnt a lot from these chapters. I never quite understood the lesson behind it. “ the further we move away from God the worse we become” very profound! Thank you so much and God continue to bless you 🙏🏽
I Allen, this story has always brought me to tears. I think you for addressing this sadness. This is what happens when you denied God people do what is right in their own eyes. God bless you my Brother in Christ. Amen!!
What you would hope for is every positive decision you make reaps positive consequences as well that are just as far-reaching. Great teaching. I've studied this lesson several times before but was not necessarily able to apply it to my life. Great job connecting the dots.
I couldn't agree more, this is indeed the most disturbing story. Although I never experienced anything like that, I am one of those unable to ever read this story again. The things are deeply disturbing me: the way women were apparently worth nothing (the father willing to sacrifice his daughter and the wife of the man). And then, this cowardly man takes the murdered wife and wants revenge for her - although he is the one who let her getting abused.
Yes so true!! Every bad decision we make have consequences.. Thanks for that lesson .. I have been bless .. God’s blessings and love to you and yours 🙏🏻♥️♥️
@@Talletctotally agree. The concubine returns to her father house might have been because the Levite abused her. Her father wanting him to stay longer, appears the father was aware what might happen to the concubine when she got home. The Levite giving her to the men to gang rape is a pattern that abusers do currently, i.e. revenge porn, gang rape. This is to re enforce most abusers beliefs that women are objects This is quite upsetting but domestic violence was and still occurs. The husband lying is the same thing abusers and their proxies do. Jesus is our hope and the Prince of Peace in our hearts
I read all this months back yet hear your sharing made it seem more real! So disturbing on so many levels! And I did catch the consequence part? Great to have found you! Thank you for your video!
I am really glad you did this summary of the story from Judges, and your preface/warning was well done also. I think it's a great story form the Bible and not one that most churches or preachers ever talk about. So applause to you again for bringing it up and out. There are so many parallel lines to this story in History all over the world. First thing that comes to mind is when the cops bang on someone's house door to arrest someone (especially in America) and why there are so many people who are scared of the cops and do not see them as "heroes" but as villains (who have the power with a gun) to rape, imprison, and torture people. Sometimes people steal or abuse or rape (not cops) and the other people don't know what to do, so they call the cops never thinking that the cops could be just as evil as the evil they want to get rid of. It's a catch 22. Who can we call? How can we save a victim or ourselves? It's tragic, and scary, and this story reminds us that we really don't know what to do. Can you imagine if someone sent a corpses body parts in the mail to the killers today? It would be shocking. Yet I was not shocked when you explained that part of the story, in fact I was smiling because the man who sent those body parts was putting their sin and their evilness right into their faces and saying "Here, look at what you did" and I think that's perfect. Actually, in my mind I could think of even more shocking things to do, but I wouldn't knowing full well of the consequences and trying to live my life longer so that I may experience more joy and pleasure after having spent the majority of my life on work and lies and sadness. I believe in God, Jesus, and the afterlife. I believe that the Bible has very important messages that can always show us what's going on in the world if people are willing to see the parallel lines. I do not think that the Bible is the only story or word of God. I think it's even bigger than that. However, I am worried about the world and for myself and people like me. Technology is becoming a monster and even while I use it to send this message to you, I'm fearful of these cars that drive themselves, and the talk about getting rid of cash and coin, and the desire to put apps and credit cards into the skin of humans. it's getting insane and I want to run to the hills and escape what's happening.
Great job covering this story! I'm watching it again! Goodness, the things human beings can do to each other. Deliver us all, LORD! Keep up the good work on your channel!

I would have laughed in their face. God has definitely humbled me from being a judging man to an understanding one..
I remember when I first read this years ago in my twenties and was horrified. Allen I appreciate your taking the time to share and teach on these verses.
It's hard to believe how much Grace God has for us sinners....praise His name!
As long as I have been going to church, I have not heard a pastor cover this story of the Bible. If so, I may have not went that particular Sunday and missed it. Allen did a phenomenal job of breaking this story down.
I haven't heard it either. I think a lot of Pastors are afraid to approach it because of the content! My opinion only. Awesome lesson.
@laurelpowell5471 I said the same thing to myself. They may be afraid to approach it.
Actually about 8 years ago, I heard a lady give a message from Judges 19, but she included the Good Samaritan. She said do we ignore people based on what we don't like, or we willing to help people no matter who or what they are. Thanks Pastor Allen. It was a good message
I just read this in a Bible study on Judges. You are so right that it is disturbing.
Man, I already knew which story you were referring to before I watched the video. Thanks for engaging this scripture! It’s always so hard to read.
I am a PK and I calling dad tomorrow and asking why wasn’t this talked about. Wow thank you for making these videos.
Join me in this prayer. The more that pray it the stronger it gets. Pray God’s will be done on this earth as it is in heaven. Pray God protects and blesses the children. Pray for the truth to be revealed. Pray God lifts the scales from the lukewarm and lost eyes, opens their ears and soften their hearts. Pray God strengthens His children, gives them more discernment, pours more Fire on them and wakes them up. Pray the end times harvest will increase. Pray God exposes the evil people in the USA government and brings them to justice 💜
I imagine the women and men killed and the women kidnapped were praying. Nothing fails like prayer.
@@horridhenry9920 sounds like a child of the devil to me. I will stay with the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob
Prayer only fails if you ask selfishly, I don't think the people who were kidnapped prayed as they'd all strayed from God.

@@Resgerr Really, intercessory prayers fail at the same rate as personal prayer.
Are you saying if they had prayed they would not have been kidnapped?
I knew which story you were going to mention as soon as I heard you say it's the most disturbing. I felt the same way the first time I heard this story in the Bible in a year with Father Mike. Thank you so much for this video. You picked the story apart and interpreted it so well .
Thank you as well for the trigger warning Shared
Lesson 4: You Can chose your Sin but not the Consequences
Lesson 5: God has Grace for us even in the midst of our own destructive actions
Yes❤️
Amazing my brother. I stumbled into your video, by God's grace and it was very refreshing. I give God all the Glory and may He bless you
Such a great video. I had never read through the entire story. Sobering and I too was struck by "You can choose your sin, but not the consequences." Powerful
"You can choose your sin, BUT you cannot choose your consequences" waw, what a quote! 😲😲🔥🔥
Wow
Man this brother just took us all to church! Love your videos! You stick to the word but yet make it entertaining and interesting. Good word!
Great one. !! Thanks.
This is deep and what we need to hear. No one wants to talk about these situations in the Bible. Thank you.
Thank you brother for bringing light to this part of the Bible. I won’t lie I shook me when I read it but God is good always. Be blessed
I'm truly speechless this is so powerful they don't preach this in church today My hat off to you for standing up and preach the truth 🙏🙏🙏
EXCELLENT teaching video! God's Word does not shy away from telling the good and bad. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God ..." 2Tim 3:16. I once heard: "Choices are optional, but the consequences are set."
Was I the only one who ran to my Bible to read this book??!! 😂😂 I had NO IDEA this was what the book of judges was about. Such great lessons!
Judges has some SERIOUS lessons!
Judges is so wild! Jaw drop after jaw drop😂
Ok but why are yall laughing??
@@mahoganymuffin2628 because that’s how I talk. I didn’t realize I had to filter my emojis.
Finished your book yesterday! Going back through it now transferring notes and scripture references to my Bible! Thank you for making things so clear.
Thank you Lord for being so good to me.💞🙏🙏💞
Amen..ALL glory to our God Most High, always n forever Amen!!!

But didn’t God permit all of this, just as in the book of Job?
@@horridhenry9920 Yes, due to our sins. It was never God’s intention for us and had Eve not given in to temptation, we would have had very different lives. 🙏
@@giorgismama8024 An omniscient God would know the outcome even before the event happened. God knew this would be the outcome and he allowed it. Nothing can happen if God did not want it to happen. It’s called omnipotence.
I always hate listening to this story, but thank you for taking the time to review it. No good ever comes from doing what we think is right in our own eyes.
You are one of the bravest men out there! I'm new to your channel, but not new... I'm 69! All my life when reading through the Bible i could FEEL that 19th chapter in Judges coming up with pure dread! I've been so appreciating you taking on the tough topics (& blowing away all the fluff in which theyre cushioned), but when i saw this come up, i knew EXACTLY what story you were going to tell... & honestly, i do have a past that could be triggered, so I waited awhile, but came back to listen (I'm ok🙂). So, wanted to say, WELL DONE!
And, I got your book after listening to your interview with Sean McDowell. Thanks for that, too!
That is funny!!! This very section of scripture did trigger trauma in me many years ago when I was young in the Lord. It made me so angry with the Lord as I thought that He approved of what this man did to his concubine. It took me a while to realize people's actions don't always reflect God's will or heart ❤️
But God knew this would happen and permitted it. Is it not Gods plan?
What’s funny??
@@tiffanydaniel8996 sorry... More so strange 🥺
@@horridhenry9920He creates purpose from it but it is our will
@@stephenxadonai What purpose doe he create, and how do you know. If everything that happens has a purpose how do we ever know what that purpose is. How does our will override Gods plan?
Yes!! First time I read it, I closed the bible and stared at it for minutes, speechless. My mind was what did I just read.
It is still so messed up. He wanted take her back with such urgency from her dad's to just give her away like a piece of meat. Then he just tell her to get up, as she doesn't he cut her up. That was so disturbing
Watching your video till the end to see your input.
I was born in a Christian home, imagine as a little kid reading this part of the Bible. I was never able to understand why God would allow such thing but now as a grown up I understand, especially now that I see how society is. I have the privilege to have God with me since I was in the womb and He takes care of me, even if I don’t understand everything around me.
I came terrified of God and could not understand why people were not afraid of him

Can you explain what do you mean when you say "I was privileged to have God with me since I was in the womb?
Thank you
This is the best video you've ever put out (and I love your videos!). This passage in Judges has always upset and disturbed me, and I really got a lot out of your analysis, especially the applications you drew. Thank you, Brother Allen
The moral of the story you can't correct sin with more sin. That was really sad and unnerving.
Exactly, it's about sin not bad decisions. A bad decision does not always correlate to sin.
I have a similar way of telling stories as you do, but you do it so much better. I need to practice. The way you tell it help with mental visualization and emotion in the situation. It was very good revealing the lesson. Very good video. Thank you for this!
Thanks for your retelling of this part of scripture. I am preparing a message for this Sunday on the parable of the wheat and the tares and this so fits in with it. The more we try to “fix” the problem caused by the weeds, the more wheat we destroy in doing it. The harvest is what God seeks. Be blessed.
Thanks!
Thanks so much Ariel for the support.
I cried the first time I read this story a few years ago. So terrible. Thanks for the lesson.
Absolutely great message as always can’t stress enough how much I love watching your content because it’s always Bible based you go and read the Bible as it is even when it gets uncomfortable..
Brother, continue your work. I always look forward to your new videos because I know that you are feeding the flock. !!
I have such mixed emotions because woman have always been treated as a less than😢men can't have kids, woman have to be dad + mom. Men don't work shouldn't eat 2Thess. 3:10
*Moral relativism ultimately leads to horrific depravity.* The world is a slave to the sickness of sin & Christ alone can save us. Mercy Lord Jesus😔
Thank you for covering this scripture
I know this story, and it saddens, and upsets me every time I read it. I am part of a women’s study at a church in my area, this story definitely definitely spoke to me, and I will share this story with my group.
Thank you Allen for making this video.
Amen!!
It goes to show that we can do things we were convinced we could never do
What you would hope for is every positive decision you make reaps positive consequences as well that are just as far-reaching. Great teaching. I've studied this lesson several times before but was not necessarily able to apply it to my life. Great job connecting the dots.
Love this type of content and teaching brother! Thank you!
Excellent study, I don't remember this story! I will be going back to my Bible to read. Thanks so much for your dedication and diligence.
Excellent video. So much conviction especially about living with accountability 🙌🏾
I KNEW this was the story you were talking about!! I agree. I was disturbed. There are more disturbing also, but this one stood out.
ThankQ allen parr , I’m learning a lot from your content all the way from South Africa
God has to be the center. Theres no other way!
This was so powerful!! I had to go back and listen a few times!!
Yes so true!! Every bad decision we make have consequences.. Thanks for that lesson .. I have been bless .. God’s blessings and love to you and yours 🙏🏻♥️♥️
What kind of fathers are these?! What is behind this lack of love for women…amongst God’s people? So heartbreaking. 😢💔
Do you honestly not know what goes on in this world? It is far worse than this
@@Talletctotally agree.
Thank you for your video!
thank you for the message brother Allen!
God truly spoke to me through this video. Praise Jesus.
Thank you brother Parr for your helping me to understand scriptures better. God bless you always 🙏
I am buying THAT BOOK! THANKS!
Thank you brother Allen, I needed to hear this message.
