Agreed, but unfortunately the people who own them, don't give a s**t about them, as long as they are making money! that's why I would never ride them when in Blackpool no matter what! If they aren't getting rides, they won't put the horses (and donkey's on the beach) through what they do!! AVOID if you love animals!!!
Thanks for braving the elements, be safe. Have a look tomorrow morning and see how much damage there's been, hopefully everyone got home safely. And hopefully they take the horses home now.
I stumbled across your channel a couple of years ago, I watch religiously but don’t usually comment. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work, the way you portray Blackpool in a positive light is fantastic. It’s a gem of a channel. Thank you ❤️❤️
Thanks for venturing out in that weather for us Stephen i can't believe that in that weather the horse and carts are still on the promenade take care and STAY SAFE
Hi, another great video, it started off nice and calm but the winds sure got up! Great shots of the sand whirling on the beach! Mother Nature is amazing sometimes.ill leave the ride in the big one lol!
That was a great video Stephen the blowing sand was incredible, and the lights tonight just seemed brighter than ever just fab. Hope Storm Ashley doesn’t cause, any more damage in Blackpool.
Best video of Windy Blackpool, and yeah, comments are amazing, too. Thanks, stevie, going outside with yah camera. Proper brilliant, and I hope you were ok 👍 you do anything for yah fans 😅❤
And it's now on it's way towards me here in westcoast of Norway. Mostly rain so fare, but the wind is now gradually picking up. I just pray it's not ending up with hurrycan as forcasted.
I remember this sort of sandstorm in the 1960s. Dad would get us up at about 5.00 a.m. to walk on the beach, obviously depending on the tide. How it hurt my legs as we wore skirts and socks then. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Thanks for going out in that sandblasting event and sharing the video. 👍
You was brave tonight with all that stormy weather, great vid, and yes the council definitely had a job on tonight securing the stuff on the promenade.
Gosh Stephen looking bad there in blackpool hope you kept safe, such a shame, all the hard work for the light pool and the marquee, hope everyone was safe there taking it down, stay safe Stephen thanks again for your continued hard work for your channel fans, bye 😊xx
Yes Stephen the Gales have been bad here 😅 I've been out picking neighbours dustbins up that been blown over. I was surprised at the people out and about. Another great video Stephen thank you 😊
Stephen. What an incredible video ! Such exciting scenes. I was having tea snugly in Fleetwood. But heard the roars of the storm and everything was rattling! Thank you for the video. X
I always wondered why back in the day Butlin's didn't build a site there. Would have made a fortune. I believe they had that hotel. Also there was a Pontins where they have built houses now. Someone told me that Billy Butlin thought that building it on the site where Pontins was would have not had direct access to the beach. Just the dunes. There was no land available on the opposite side where the beach is, and not possible due to the tides. The closest places would have been St Annes, who didn't want it there, or Cleveleys, where again not enough land.
It's still gusting at 11.05 pm on the East Coast....... Been a good evening in front of the fire....... Who in their right mind wants to be out amongst it......??
When I lived in Bispham I can remember clinging tightly to the railings at the top of Red Bank Road to avoid being blown in front of the traffic when there were gales. Initially it was a novelty....less so after a few years.
My girlfriend and myself were in Blackpool last year in November and there was a named storm then also and the noise off the wind was incredible we stayed behind Coral Island on one of the side streets and during the evening trams got called off and suspended because parts of the dungeon signage exhibit had been blown down onto the street and across the promenade.
What idiot thought it was a good idea to put a massive tent up on the prom during annually predictable windy/stormy Illuminations weather in October? And then to put a highly technical robotic light display with delicate electronics inside a massive tent, just meters away from the high tide of the Irish Sea with it's corrosive seawater and sprey. I'd love to have seen the Risk Assessment, if one was even completed in the first place.
Those poor horses being made to work in that. Shame!
You know in the days before cars? Horses were used.
Yes but do you know it's 2024 and them days are long gone @@danielledewitt1
@@danielledewitt1 wtf has that got to do with it. 2 Wrongs
Stop being so fragile, those horses are tougher than you think and probably aren't too bothered at all. Get a grip.
@@Mixedmash13Oh glad you know exactly how those horses feel, you Doctor Doolittle? 😂
Shame to have the horses out in this weather.

Thanks Diane. I will.
thank you for going out in it so we can share the drama from the comfort of our homes
Poor horses
@@PlottingAlong shouldn't be allowed to have horses if they're putting them out in this weather.
Take care and stay safe Stephen
Good evening Stephen. thank you for going out filming in this stormy weather . hope you stay safe. see you in the next one. xxx
Well done for braving that! Wicked wind!
Excellent video! Thanks for braving the sandstorm for our entertainment!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The sooner they ban the horses on the prom the better
Totally agree.
@@michelledigweed178 Bloody criminal having that horse out in that storm !
its disgusting.....hate seeing animals used like that 🤬
Well said i agree with you.
@@OfflineSetup I think they should ban cars and have more horses

My wife says the same! 😂😂😂
I feel for the horses. We get sand blasts more often in Lincolnshire aspecially near the coast. The wind is 40mph where I live

Hi Steven your a brave man walking on the beach in this weather
Thanks for sharing Stephen! Stay safe out there :)
We knew the storm was coming, why didn't the baffoons at the council take the marquee down in advance...
Hi, another great video, it started off nice and calm but the winds sure got up! Great shots of the sand whirling on the beach! Mother Nature is amazing sometimes.ill leave the ride in the big one lol!
Thanks Paul. I’m gutted the Flux display got exposed to the waves earlier. I can’t see it being repaired for the rest of the festival.
Horses should not be working in that; they should be indoors with fresh dry hay.
and always good to see you out there

Windiest place in Blackpool tonight?
Top of Red Bank Road, Bispham.
Try it next time it's windy Stephen - you won't be disappointed!
Well, it is pretty high up there!
When I lived in Bispham I can remember clinging tightly to the railings at the top of Red Bank Road to avoid being blown in front of the traffic when there were gales. Initially it was a novelty....less so after a few years.
People will be ringing the council tomorrow moaning all the bins have blown over on bin day haha
oh boy that looks like some good glider wind

It’s such a shame, as I wanted to film the display properly this week. I doubt it survived when the tent was torn open this afternoon.
Your "dead fox eye lashes" are working a treat tonight what with the wind and ting.. loloolo great coverage
I wonder what its like being in a sea facing apartment at 205 Promenade, the white block of flats after North Pier.
Interesting, I’d say.
