    I’m glad I found you! I got my CR-V as a tow vehicle knowing I’d also be doing short camping stints in it. Wasn’t quite sure how I’d go about it as I’ve had large vans and mini vans for almost 30 yrs. Camping in a mini van easily sleeps two but could one really do it in a CR-V? And then I found you, showing me how!! Looking forward to many more videos. Thanks for helping me work out the kinks before I even hit the road! 😊

      I follow two rules when it comes to camping gear. 1) No single purpose items. Everything has to be dual purpose or more. 2) Miss it twice before adding it to my gear. This keeps me from impulse buying. I have found the more I camp the less I need. We invested in good cookware and functional/versatile clothes.

    Just bought a Honda CRV and did this as my set up :) You can fit someone up to 6ft 2 onto a sleeping platform in this vehicle without removing any seats. Definitely agree with how useful that side chair is, and you can fold it down when you need more floor space next to the bed.

      Do you think someone who’s 6ft4 could make this work? Really want to try but am worried my hight would be an issue. I’m considering trying with my head in the back so my legs can go over the front seats if needed.

    • @taylortwostore
      @taylortwostore Год назад

      @@kolethatcher3343 Yes it would work, 6ft 2 fits with the seat pushed a bit forward but the seat can defo push forward by a further 2 inches required to fit you in. Just means more of you slightly poking into the cab driving area is all, but that bed length will still fit to the side of the single chair.

My 75 inch foam mattress I have won't fit unless I take out the front passenger seat I don't want to do that, So I am going to be using something similar to what you have. My plan is to build out a camper like yours. I think you could put many of your vids together, like Foresty Forest does in his. Just to chime in on the idea, I’m a big fan of the “one topic“ video. Yes, if we don’t want to watch the rest we can stop it or zip through it, but those dang RUclips algorithms don’t miss a thing. Stopping a video part way is interpreted as disinterest in the entire
      video. :(

    Nice demonstration. Like you say, looks to be plenty of space for one. Feet and shelf area at the back is obviously the key part to get right. That sunroof is great for light and ventilation around your head there, too. Any thoughts on adding a roof rack to yours? I custom made one for my CRV from electrical tubing so I could cover the entire roof and have it sit closer to the roof than the factory bars allow.

    I have $1700 mattress at home... And 3 med-high quality patio cushion in my car..
    Sleeps 2.. We put 2 nice patio seat cushion next to each other and the 3rd one goes across at foot end..we don't notice the 3rd one is of lower quality.
    Homestore patio cushions better than walmart types.
    Patio bench cushions tend to be water & mildew proof. Extra firm..but not like a brick.

    It's great that the dimensions of a 3rd gen 4runner are about the same as a crv of this year. Only difference is the seats, mine has about 50/50 split in the back seat which isn't a huge deal. Otherwise this setup works great.

    Maybe you've mentioned it in other videos, but you didn't mention here that you removed the passenger side rear seat. I don't want to do that in my 2016 CRV, plus I want to sleep on the wider side of the rear seat division. Now that I've seen your setup, I may see about switching the side I sleep on. I appreciate your demonstrations of getting into and out of your rig; most of the other "tour" videos brag about the setup but never demonstrate functionality. Some of what you do I think I can do as well without removing the rear seat. Thanks again for the content.

    Thanks for posting! Inspirational! I'm using a Kia Sorento which has a longer interior (I'm 6'2"). It's actually an SUV body on a minivan frame. I have just enough length. My wife has a CR-V but it is a little short for me without modification which she's not going to allow me to do, haha.

      Can you explain about an SUV on a minivan frame? I’m currently in a Dodge Journey, but I’ve been wrestling for the longest time about which minivan (or possibly something else including another SUV) I should get. I’ve also been looking at the Kia Sedona. How would it compare to a minivan?

      @@lindasue8719 I have a 2017 Kia Sorento. That generation was on a European minivan frame. Generations before and after were / are on an SUV frame same as Hyundai's Santa Fe. I have the first year (2003) amd it is absolutely beefy on a legit steel frame. Don't know why they changed them. I think they changed the back seats too. Mine fold flat but the bottom cushion flips up shortening the length for sleeping so I unbolted one bottom cushion and pulled it out. I'm only 5'5" though.
