I have the same gaming laptop and am also concerned about it overheating. I upgraded mine to 16gb RAM and put in a 500gb SSD. It is super fast and smooth. Im thinking about buying a cooling fan or pad underneath the laptop while im using it.
I had heating issues for weeks until I realized I left the little plastic coverings on the front vents on either side of the laptop. Check that out, and then if you are having over-heating go ahead and press ctrl+shift+5 and that will turn on the turbo fan function.

it is very very smooth when surfing the web, has a great display along with some outstanding JBL speakers, and battery life last super long (around 10 hours max). I would definitely recommend this laptop!
also I don't have bf4 and the Witcher but I will say this laptop shreds any game u put on it! no matter what game u play u will get 60 fps rather if it's on ultra or low settings, you will achieve it.
Your pc is thermal trottling basically its a fail safe when the cmputer gets too warm to prevent damage from the components it lowers it's clock speed to reduce the heat output. It can be easily fixed man. Lenovo made the y700 with this dust catcher which significantly limits the air flow making it hard for the computer to suck air....just remove it
I just ordered it on Newegg for $950. The one I got has the I7 6700hq, GTX 960m, 16gb of ram, 256gb ssd, and a 1tb hdd.

look up how to remove the dust filter for the cpu on this laptop cuz it dosent let enough air though
