- It’s a talk+performance to heal your soul. Shayan’s music talks about peace, pluralism, tolerance and personal and social values. She talks about living a mellow and harmonious life.
Farzana Wahid, popularly known as Shayan is an eclectic musician, lyricist and composer who can only be described in one word as 'different'! Each of Shayan's songs is born out of a story or an idea that picks your brain and moves your emotions, they talk of random tales, politics, freedom, art or culture. Often her songs are more of statements of an activist rather than popular numbers. They keep breaking barriers and transcending from music to literature, to slogans and posters.

her philosophy really touches my heart. so highly underrated genius found in our BD.. after so many years people would love to hear her sparking songs.. from generation to generation, from heart to soul, from decade to era, everywhere Bengali live just like me.. still listening after 5 years but looks ever fresh now.. that emotion, that feelings.. just wow.. She is one of my favorite Bengali singer..who really create song from daily life..and her songs definitely touches heart and make us think about life again..

Shayan you opened my eyes and opened my heart. I was born in Kolkata well after the partition, but I never accepted or believed in this forced and senseless division of the land of Bengal. So I always fantasized or nurtured the picture of the one Bengal as it used to be. But after listening to your beautiful songs and words my fantasy has become reality. World has only one Bengal and you are my hero and guide. So keep living your life and keep singing and spreading your words of wisdom.
Just don't know what to say? your understanding and interpretation of life is just amazing. Your thoughts somehow resonates with my own. If you are nobody then nobody is anybody.

Hi, Shayan. I first fall in love of your song when I was 12/13 years old teenager. It's very fascinating to see you in a right place. Always love for you and your songs in which I find my inner voice.
When we have really shallow intellectual, moral and ethical value among us, she is a breath of fresh air. Apart from being a great singer, song writer I cant believe there is still someone in our country who can talk and see life in more humanly and simplistic way, yet does not require a pre-written script.
