Almost all third party fx plugins - different compressors, EQs etc make almost no difference to a mix compared to the stock ones in any major DAW. They're just selling tiny idiosyncrasies from legacy hardware EQs and compressors (which you can get 99% of the way there by setting params differently in a stock plugin) as "essential". You don't need a LA-2A plugin for example. Either your DAW already has one that models it, or you can achieve the same sound with the compressors your DAW has by playing with the params. Any difference wouldn't be visible to the listener (or matter, even if it was). Neither does "oversampling" and other such features have much of a role. Thousands of #1 hits and well respected albums were done with bog standard fx plugins with no oversampling at all.
Getting into music production recently, and you’ve honestly showed and taught me so much since I started watching you and I’m very appreciative for it. So massive thanks to you! Keep it up!
I'm starting music production with no background in music, and after watching almost the entire music nerd youtube library, your content is the one that helped me the most !!!!
Girl you hit those high notes, that's all that matters 💅🏻😂🤣 this was so educational for me as a beginner! I'd love to see you do more of these if you ever feel called 🙏🏻
crazy close, I sometimes host remake challanges on my discord server and it's always cool to see how different people get different elements perfectly right so that if everyones best parts are combined you get the actual original haha
Bro! You 100% need to know that this video was worth all the effort you put in to it and also a great move to shine a light on the other great work you've done and have on display within your library. Keep glowing! This is special
I cant remember the word, but there is a concept that Ive heard around Irish traditional music where you cant recapture the same vocal performance twice cause you are singing at a different time and in a different headspace. I think there's alot of power in embracing that fact and bringing something your own to the table.
I'm as new to music production as people get so this is insanely awesome to watch. I wish I had half your skill! Don't ever apologize for being nerdy because I loved learning about all this. Crazy how when you start putting your own tracks together you start paying attention to all the individual drums and things in the songs you love. I beg of you, please turn this into a recurring series. I need this.
Saw this video and got really inspired by seeing you recreate this song, soo inspired that I wanted to do it myself. i used up the whole day to recreate "Marcel" by Her's, proud of myself and happy I found this channel again. Thanks for the inspo
This guy is a good singer, trying to remake the beat is one thing which I think is the best exercise you could do as a producer, but then his vocals took me by surprise. Sounds more in tone with joji which is actually a great sound in itself Great job man
Please please please make more remakes this is so cool and educational thank you so much for this there’s a lot of remakes but this is the closest and it’s really cool to really see the person make it live
Ive loved frank ever since i listened to him for the first time when i was 17, this was a rlly beautiful remake. You’re very talented, keep the videos coming! Sending love from Argentina 🩵
I have been doing this for like one month, it’s so much fun to recreate your favorite songs from scratch and see how they’re made. I even recently learned that this whole technique has a name! It’s called Master Study!
Man, i love this song from the bottom of my heart. You taught me so much with this and made me notice parts of the song I didn't pay enough attention. About that intro, i think the producer sampled a song made by odd future called "bitch suck dick" from about 14 seconds into the song. Thank you for this lesson.🤝🏽👏🏽
the bass was how it was played - normal palm plucking v the last two notes soft slap bass,, but dude you went abs crazy I love this content you're gonna go so far,, much love for a fellow artist in sydney man
This is amazing, so glad I found you!! Love your style of explanation, and how clear you are with your thought process and what plugins you are using. I always say remaking is the fastest way to get better, and just watching you do this taught me SO SO MUCH!
AMAZING video man. There are so many remake videos, but your flow was so great and love all the attention to detail. I realize I gotta do more remakes to step up my own songwriting game. Thanks bro.
I enjoyed watching the whole 20 minutes. So Inspiring and entertaining at the same time. And when you started singing 😳 your voice is special. Great video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Such a nice remake and walkthrough! One thing I'll add on is definitely do warms up for your voice to really hit the highs without scratching or tearing. Take care of your voice!
@@camus.mp3 I’m don’t a combined choir at my high school and that’s what we start with, warming up because it’s very hard and becomes a chore to hit the high notes and low notes for a sustain. so if you do some lip trills to get blood moving and just yell from highest to lowest pitch then you are cooling.
this is pure talent my brother!! The amount of work you put in this remake is crazy and it sounds the exact same 🔥👏🏻 Here you become one my favourite ❤
I have been repeatedly informed that was Beyonce thanks guys I feel way better now

Fun fact Pharrell produced this beat and ngl pharrell uses a lot of stock plugins in logic and sound designs them a little
REALLY I had no idea
I really didn't feel like it needed much fancy processing at all
Wait Fr????
no way??!!

I was genuinely blown away when your vocals first came in, you’re an incredible singer... brilliantly done, this was such a fun watch :)
nahh too kind
your workflow is so sick to watch, seeing your face when you listened to the final product and realized that you pulled it off was mad inspiring
that's so cool to hear I was about to cut the end off more !
PLEASE DO MORE THIS WAS SO WELL PUT TOGETHER AND EDUCATIONAL
amazing man! btw, the "female voice" is a casual hidden Beyonce feature, and I've got to say you did a damn good effort to hit those notes
ofc he felt no need to mention this
definitely my new favorite production channel. big ups

That's stunning will, glad to have you
I was NOT ready for those strings at the end to sound as majestic as they did after processing 😮
6:34 “that is so mega epic” that was so cute I understand that feeling 100% 🥺

This was a crazy mad breakdown. It's so good to see a fellow Aussie hitting this out of the park, keep doing you bro!!!
Yo this claps. I've listened to the song loads but never noticed how much the bassline variants keep the track so fresh. Impressive work!

You've gotta love RC20, works for literally anything.
Those string layers were so nice 🥹
Drums were KNOCKIN too 😂🔥
Fire fire fire you went crazy at 11:25 on that midi keyboard

New sup!!! I really appreciate the fact you play actual instruments in Abelton and not the typical drawing in notes!!! Love the attention to detail!!!
sick video bro, absolutely right about remaking stuff being a hack for improving!
6:30 wearing a pink and white fit for the whole video is perfect
Just the work of a super fan. I’m sure the amount of hours you put into this are second to none. Nice job man 🫡
