Yeah, definitely don’t sell that Fox Rapier. It’s required to unlock another item, and despite beating the game I think I’ve only seen the fox event two times.
each luck effects a random dropped item when you finish a fight, so sometimes they effect the same drop. It seems luck increases the rarity by 1 and great luck increases the rarity by 2
Every time an item is discovered (including "reorganize now" items), a random number is chosen. The higher the number, the better the rarity. When you find an item, other item rarities become likely to be found. So if I find an uncommon item, rare and legendary items become more likely. Once I find an item of a certain rarity, my luck for that rarity is reset to 0 and I need to rebuild luck for that rarity. Getting "luck" from an item, increases your chances for all rarity types.
@@olivergobrrr2935 @gostlyplays is correct. That's not how luck works. Luck in Backpack Hero effects all rarities. The longer you go without seeing a certain rarity, the more likely it becomes to see it in the near future. Example, I found a bunch of common items, but nothing else. That means the chance of finding any other rarity goes up and once you do find a higher rarity item, the luck value resets back to zero for that rarity. Having luck means the value is not reset back to zero, but instead to your luck value. This means that having luck will make you see rarer items more often, but it doesn't mean there's a magical luck value to obtain to guarantee legendary items every roll.
You can always right click an item and click "View Card", useful to hover over keywords with icons for a short explanation, or if it's too long. It's shown in one of those really long popup text tutorials unfortunately. Another thing that's not explained but I noticed is that light blue text means that it changes based on what the item is pointing to, just like the Citrine (yellow pointy gem), though not like you could've done that with the Tusk, but it's good to keep in mind to immediately remember that an item means "pointing to" instead of "strictly above" Also to level up between fights you just have to go to an empty room after the EXP Flower room
@@imsteve3493 Agree. Sometimes you don't even get an opportunity to hover over text for an explanation, the first thing that comes to mind is when you get the cursed forger. I thought "adds pierce" meant it attacks all enemies because I'd never seen that on a weapon before. Turns out it just bypasses armor. And some of the icons are so damn small.
@@Benisuber1 Best thing to do is look it up on the Atlas, but not only is that not explained or pointed out as having any use outside of the Lore (Vivienne telling you she added the lore to it), it's not even foolproof and you can't find every-everything in it
Yeah Tyler is aware of the light blue meaning pointing to, it's just that this run obviously he couldn't rotate anything. The wording in this game does leave a bit to be desired though xD I guess that just comes with a bit of time, especially if the developers are not native speakers.
fox rapier with some haste is super OP, if you get angel armor (+2 haste per turn), fox rapier is super OP! you can "ignore" curses if you don't like their downside, although they will replace a combat reward until you pick them up the black cube thing that speaks binary just gives you a rare or rarer item and a cursed item
Funny thing about curses, I've discovered and confirmed 2 ways of neutralizing them, and one which I suspect works. I won't totally spoil that fact though, but you can get rather creative with them once you have a particular NPC (as the two confirmed ones rely on meta-progressing to him being available). Edit: quick correction, I forgot Tyler has that NPC already.
It's also so easy to get away from curses. Just destroy it turn 1 with the dynamite or that blue candle, or don't take the curse and use the dice to reroll the rewards

if you want more components for your town, consider building some more buildings in it when possible. selling things in the town usually isn't worth it unless it's intended (i.e. the food things you get for completing a mission) but rather from letting the town build resources passively while you're in the dungeon. I currently have around 2k of each and i dont sell anything because i always forget what i should be bringing back for research lol. Love the stuff. I haven't played this game yet, but with the potential of magic-focused builds I'm just imagining there being some kind of 'spellbook' item that causes 'pages' to appear in loot tables that can be added to it rather than filling up your backpack further. maybe it has a drawback of flipping through its pages costing energy and you just get a random spell you've got in it every time you do, and you have no other option for changing what spell it casts on standard use
29:51 it is poor wording but it most certainly means exchange. lol like you’ve been carrying a curse with you and it suck’s so you get to trade it in. It has some nice relief and a possible benefit.
The pouch I noticed during the run as an option after you met parcel, when you put the key in the chest, I noticed for half a second there was an option to store the key in one of the visual pouches on the side of the backpack, either that was a glitch in the game and pouches always worked or you unlocked it as soon as you met parcel
The plushie quest took me over 10 attempts, because I forgot to activate it each fight. If you don't, you die. Sometimes they died too fast to my full burn build with the burning axe, two burn gems and one burning forge upgrade. Not to mention I had plenty of spikes.
