In case anyone didn't know, when gaining a curse you don't have to put the cursed item into your bag before moving on. The cursed item will replace the right most item when gaining loot after every battle you don't take it. I'm pretty sure you can alternate use the cleansing lamps after the battle to cleanse a curse.
There’s a bunch of ways to clear curses yeah, pretty much anything that destroys an item will remove the curse, and iirc anything with a cleansing effect will turn the cursed item into a standard item with the same effect
If you are wondering why you need to press the arrow twice when selling items: The first time it only moves items that cannot be used in research. So if there is still a request for footwear for example it wont move boots during the first click. The second moves all the rest too.
BTW, cleansing curses doesn't get rid of them - it just makes them behave like normal items, so if you actually want it (like the hand here) it doesn't go away (but if you don't want it, it stops following you)
The hand is one of my favorite items, and I am a bit sad it didn’t get to shine as much as it could have. Not only is it one of the best item destroyers in the game which unlocks a lot of synergies. If you turn the hand to face an edge, it won’t have anything to pull and could safely have been out next to the emerald bracelet. It will just do nothing, making it I think the only curse without a downside! The synergy with the loot box to stack rage is insane if you have multiple 0 energy weapons such as the shiv, or a bow that fires multiple arrows in one attack. I like the hand even if I don’t do a curse build, but for curse builds the hand is essential for getting rid of bad curses, since it can destroy any item, including curses. All in all, 10/10 item. Would recommend!
that and the lootbox are such a powerful combo! it's rage and free curse destruction that only costs the space to get rid of something you don't care about or want gone.
Joker Cleaver is a purely positive curse too - can work in a cleaver build if you're activating it with other cleavers, the rotation doesn't matter if it's one of the endpoint cleavers.
I just got done with a run with insane rage synergy run. 3 stacks on a crusaders sword, three lightning rings, a rage ring, 14 mana in stones with 3 regen source, - 40 block from armor and +1 energy took out the level 3 lady badger in one turn 12 + 15 + 18 + 21 + (3x13) + (3x14) + (3 x 15) .... (3*27) = 62 + 7(3*40) = 902 damage first turn or thereabouts, or 840 first turn, and then (9*26) + (9 * 28) + 4*40+ 18) = 664 Second turn. and an extra 14*22 = 308 per turn after)
Anyone else notice that at 11:43 the health ring gave him permanent max health since it was destroyed not removed i wonder if you coukd use the cursed hand to infinetly stack buffs like that
That seems like a huge bug. Especially since I'm pretty sure he goes from 50 max to 55 when he first picks up the ring and then from 55 to 60 when it gets destroyed. So double buff for free?
@@MatthewLudwig-mw8uqthe 60 hp is only temporary as soon as he puts the new item in his backpack it goes to the correct amount i do agree though that it might be a bug but hopefully they make it a feature cause its kind of a cool niche use of destroying items
Placing buildings in a town randomly makes me think thats how Tyler keeps his home. Things everywhere, food under beds, piles of energy drinks around the computer screen. I am feeling claustrophobic thinking about it
The fish sword is an incredible weapon. I was able to get the fish hook as well during my run with it, which allowed me to both easily get me fish to boost it, and give me a steady stream of consumeable items to use.
@@SpawnofChaos nope, transforming items have a sorta uno reverse symbol at the top right. unlucky horseshoe is literally just at item that generates curses. it's a good idea though, flip it over and it generates blessings.
9:34 Notabily, Blood Bow does not increase in cost each use. Meaning either it costs 2 energy to use each turn (1 to flip back) or you need 2 sets of arrows.
Love the variety in the game now compared to when you originally played it. But would love to see more long-form videos of the game like the last one! Feels like the ~20 minute ones are too short haha
Hi Tyler, loving this series so far. Wanted to leave a comment since I've played more of this game: some unlockable characters you'll get come with a tutorial set of missions - do those ASAP because there are some really unique gimmicks for the other characters. Also do the Mayor quests please, I know you hate him but it's worth it.
I wish there was ways to get the seed for that run. The relic you found with the cursed hands is so op. Free 4 rage generation per turn and the braclet would give 2 energy for the 2 gloves. So good. Wow.
i think the lootbox only works once per turn, so you only get 2 free rage a turn, but tbh even if you had to actually feed it with items it would probably still be strong enough to be worth it with the right build
Hey tyler, 2 things, first off if you get enough exp to level but are not in a battle, open your backpack. Second, last video you got the "trade a rare item for a curse" it is "Get a rare item AND a curse" just incase you get him again :)
That run was awesome! Future reference though you could have turned the second evil hand towards the edge of the bag and used the first one to essentially cleanse you of the curse by destroying it.
Much like Joker Cleaver, Evil Hand is a curse that is... a lot more harmless than it seems. Once you realize the hand is silently directional (and thus controllable, if a little scary), it's a free, compact item destroyer, useful to trigger on-destroy effects like the lootbox... and dispose of other curses!
I think backpack hero became my favorite in this new age of rougelites that have been coming out. I have been playing it since you put out your first video. It would be interesting to see how you're developing your village or what you think of the mechanic. I feel like the main quest and base building is slightly underdeveloped for a full release but it's still pretty fun to organize and decorate the town.
i actually finally got this game yesterday!! i dont consider myself much of a deck builder expert (i’ve failed four expeditions in a row now on the 2nd area 😅) but thank u for encouraging me to try it out. despite all my failing im having a great time :)
There have been a few curse items/events so far. I think it would be an interesting/challenging build to explore. Especially with the limited items that have been discovered so far
11:50 What exactly happened here? Cause it looked to me like the heart ring added 5 max hp, and then when it was destroyed it added another 5, but then it was counted as removed so it removed 5, leaving him with a permanent +5 max hp. Did I miss something or was that a bug?
found a really cool game recently that I think you should play! its a demo for a game called die in the dungeon, you use dice on a grid to make different effects and defeat enemies. there are attack, heal, and shield dice, as well as relics that give you special abilities permanently! you can upgrade the dice, or give them effects. there's even events that can give you special dice or relics! at the end there's also a boss. I really liked it and I think people would enjoy watching it.

You think rolling the 1/6 for the curse is bad, I once gave it 4 tries and got the same cursed item 3 times :D Luckily the negative effect didn't stack and it actually gave me quite the boost in damage :P (It was a shackle that took away an energy each turn, but gave you 5 rage.)
