Andy Minter, the reader of the first story, has past away in 2017. I would like to give my thanks for the effort he put in to help others, even if it was through reading a book.

I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Andy Minter, he was very talented and is a huge loss to us that enjoy audio books. I'm sure I've heard him before, I wonder did he record for work on Librivox too?
The female narrator's voice is like nails on a chalk board. Literally the opposite of soothing. I can hear the echos inside her chins as she reads. It's sad because i love these stories, but i will never listen to this recording again. Take it down, redo it with someone else, and repost.
Why do they allow a guy on the audio who's accent is soooo THICK I had to skip past the chapter! I work with Indians as part of my job, so I am used to it to an extent- but this was TERRIBLE...
Because all the readers are volunteers who give their time free of charge for the public benefit, so come back and whine about them after you've done the same, personally despite their occasional deficiencies I remain extremely grateful to all of them.
Simply skip the story. I skipped his reading than comment how terrible his accent is. Maybe volunteer your voice for reading as he did than complain. Kudos to him to taking time out of his own time to read.
This is borderline moving onto Streisand effect. Now I am genuinely curious if it was a typical 711 Indian accent. Hahahaa... I am from subcontinent, btw if any one wonders...
@@cuteasabutton4363 Why would he volunteer to read in English? The lady with the Russian accent brought a lot of charm to the readings. The voice and accent are very important, not just the fact they recorded the words.
I am looking for story, origin is Russian if it takes place in Russia and 99% positive! The story is about an old minor, old man who narrate about both childhood daily life in the mines. Early in the story there is a collapse, as a last chance ever to be saved the old man is it is knowledge of the mines “while he swears he sees an angel or Jesus” so all of the miners with nothing else to lose listen to the old man that happens to see an angel, living and working on breaking down a dead end, only to break into another cavern eventually they are saved they make it to the top because of the old man “who is only been guided by an Angel” I'm looking for that story I found it on here it was an audiobook intertwine with a whole bunch of other stories I think! These are great. But...as a native Russian speaker, the fake accent was so bad it was hard to listen to 😅, better off just using your regular voice. 😂 This must be how Brits feel when Americans butcher the accent.

His voice is perfect for kids...and adults!
May his soul rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏

1:26 The fool of the world.
Enjoying this. The woman narrator from Texas is very good. Thankyou for posting 🙂
Andy Minter is great , unfortunately it is apparent he is not with us any longer. I will miss his readings.
He had a beautiful voice.
I wish he had read all of the stories aloud himself.

Also now that I've listened to it, it really isn't that bad anyway.

Not you being an ungrateful human.

Excellent readings with one exception, the guy that did chapter 8 quite frankly was horrible.
Ronald Ronca time stamp?
I skipped that one 😅
That man gave his time for free to read that chapter. Frankly it's quite rude, if you don't like it just skip the chapter.
@@cuteasabutton4363 true but i really doubt that he'll see it

I think milk in tea is gross, it's honey and lemon, lol no way on the milk
Audio needs work. At my max setting in volume, these are difficult to hear still with thier production volume being overall low.
