Hi Mary - love the painting of the cabinets. I'm wondering if you sprayed any primer onto the cabinets before spraying paint? I sprayed all the cabinets in my son's house, they were that honey oak, time for a refresher... but I sanded, primered, and then sprayed 2 coats of paint, then sprayed the polecrylic in hopes to keep down the paint from chipping. Maybe next time I'll try the Annie Sloan Wax to try to protect the paint, thanks for the tips. Do you prefer the wax or polycrylic? I love your videos.

There former Amish Heritage. Really came out with this project. That is what they do for their young couples. I have been told by the Amish their self. They give apple trees, strawberry bushes, blueberry bushes, peach, and pear trees all as Wedding gifts. To provide food for the young couple now and every year after. I admire the Amish so much they take care of one another.

I think the ceiling wood looks even better now because it's a feature and doesn't get lost with all of the other dark items. The paint really opened the rooms up, looked twice as big. So clean and fresh. Love the ceiling!!! The contact paper turned out really nice. The front porch is Sooooo adorable. They will be so happy living there.

The marriage certainly started off on the right foot with all that family love. I must say, having lived in northern Wisconsin for many years that the house was a typical bachelor's home. I would have found coming home from the honeymoon a bit bleak! But, wow, it was fabulous when the family refreshed it all.

I help my sister with her kitchen cabinet refinishing company. We once had to refinish a kitchen that had wax on the cabinets. She will never do another. It basically had to be sanded or stripped back to get the wax off so the primer and paint would stick. If you are never going to refinish the cabinets again, not a problem, but if you are, be prepared for lots of elbow grease removing the wax. The cabin looks beautiful. Wishing them many years of happiness in their home.

Awesome transformation! The white paint really does open up that space. Before, the fireplace was dark and dull. Now it and everything else there is so inviting. Your family must have been elated when they walked into their 'new' home! Nice job!
