That dresser is stunning, Mary! I love the idea of showing the wood under the stencil… The flooring warms everything, the overall look is gorgeous! Great job as always!
Mary, your creativity is on another level. The master bedroom makeover is absolutely gorgeous. A perfect reflection of you; beautiful, peaceful and calm. So happy for you and John.
Everything is just beautiful Mary and that bed is fabulous! Love love that dresser, really sets the whole scene off I think. Never feel like you have to justify yourself Mary by painting a old piece of furniture, it's each to their own so no-one has a right to say anything to you you do what you love and they can do the same..
Your bedroom is such an oasis of calm! You found just the right bureau, upcycled it wonderfully, and selected a gorgeous pitcher and bowl to put atop it.
Ohhhh your bedroom turned out so pretty, I love the airy not cluttered look as well. The dresser turned out so beautiful! And oh my the floor is gorgeous!! Job well done John and Mary, God Bless ❤
Personally I'm also a huge fan of "the airy not cluttered look"! Simplicity is key. A heavy overload of 'stuff' brings a stressful & cluttered feeling over me. An uncluttered space is also easier to dust and clean. So for me less is definitely more. However, many people such as my own Mom absolutely love an overabundance of décor items, in contrast it brings her a feeling of being "nested and cozy", to each their own.
I usually hate distressed furniture, but the way you did it on the dresser really highlighted the beauty of the details in the piece. 👍. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
The dresser looks like Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak, if so, it's quite valuable. When you tire of the farm paint, it would be absolutely stunning refinished to it's original warm finish and would look so stunning in your room, wouldn't have to change another thing. Perhaps a future video?
@@mandybewkes5300 Completely understand and painting is always better than the piece winding up in a land fill. However, of the few glimpses of the dresser as it was being unloaded, it looked in very good shape structurally and only the finish seemed worn in the edges. The piece looked solid front with dovetailed drawers. We did not see a full or examination of it. In addition the close up of the graining during the stenciling process and the age seemed to be genuine and looked to be a candidate for a refinish. I've watched videos of experts taking pieces that looked truly unsalvageable with extensive damage and brought it back to amazing. My point was only to suggest a possible future alternative to the direction it was taken and give it new look still in keeping with Mary's home's aesthetic with a fresh curated look.
I had gritted my teeth when she started painting that beautiful tiger oak dresser. I love tiger oak n this dresser looked in great shape. I didn’t see any veneer broken off either. I have to agree with you if ever she tired of the black paint she could refinish the dresser to it’s original n would look just as beautiful in their bedroom.
A fresh and airy update so inviting for sleep! I love the way your beautifully refinished black dresser ties in to the black & white pattern of the tile floor visible in the bathroom. I love that you and your husband have the talent to just whip up and make anything you need!
Mary, you're ALWAYS such an incredible inspiration to watch! Everything you do seems so easy, but I know it's not! Your room came out meticulously beautiful and you are an AMAZING WOMAN! You know they make A/C that sit on the floor and you can get rid of that A/C in the window! Go check it out! See ya soon! ❤️🙏🤗
A nice idea would be to sew up a ruffle and just attach it to the inside of the wood frame you built. That way it would hide the legs but still show the BRILLIANT wood frame. Such a fantastic idea for a bed frame! I am going to remember this one.
I have used Pattersons and they are a treasure. I would encourage your viewers to try some of their decals. This dresser job was a perfect project for me to watch. We have a camp that was furnished when we bought it years ago. I have wanted to paint the dressers a black paint. Yours came out beautifully.
We raised four little ones with a double bed . They’d all crawl in during a thunderstorm. They’d fall asleep and we would then go sleep in their beds. After 30 years we upgraded to a queen and now a king. It seems so huge. Your room looks lovely. As always.
❤ looks good! How about if you put your bed skirt on the “inside” of the faux bed frame? That way you would still see the wood frame but cover those legs. Just a thought. I love your videos, thanks for sharing. 😊
Loved the dresser makeover. At first I was thinking, "OH NO not black", but as usual as with all your projects it turned out beautifully. Love the new flooring too. I am amazed at your strength. I cringe when I see you moving furniture. You are so strong! OH, I love the the relaxing music you play. So nice.
Mary, I LOVED this video. Here is what I LOVED: Efrims tie dye shirts, Bed frame, flooring, John is so handsome and what a help he is. You hit the jackpot Mary. Your Bed would look so nice catty corner in your (you almost have it that way), the peonies from Marlene and wood at bottom of Bed is to die for. Tyfs your talents and that bureau/Dresser with crystal knows is gorgeous. I am almost finished binge watching your video! Donna xoxo
Mary,Mary, you are just amazing, I am addicted to your video's really, get quiet down when I look and don't see a new one everyday😂 Thank you so much for teaching, showing and sharing your talents, You should consider writing a book on your life, From Amish girl to Entrepreneur, it would really be a best seller, may our Heavdnly continue to bless you and your family, with much admiration and appreciation for lighting up my my life, Mary - South Africa. ❤❤❤❤
I hang my pillow covers on skirt hangers. Sometimes I can get three or four on one hanger. Wow! Love your new bedroom and the tie dyed shirts! Your son inherited your creativity! And John is an amazing carpenter!
I don't know why I'm thinking this is one of my favorite makeovers when all of your makeovers are positively fabulous. I ❤ that dresser! Wow! La Coiffeuse is the hairdresser so you need a hair jar 😁 for your dresser.
Wow 😮🎉🎉 Just beautiful... Plain simplicity... May The Lord 🙏🏻 Almighty give you and husband the health to enjoy your new bed.. Outstanding job with THAT DRESSER beautiful... and the picture with basin just gorgeous...
Mary! You showing the Norwex cloths made me want to try them! They are amazing cloths and now I'm a consultant! Thanks for sharing all you do, you are an inspiration to many! Keep up the wonderful videos!
You both get an A+ Mary--I love watching you and John work together on projects-you are a great team. Loved everything about the makeover-glad you kept your headboard- but my favorite is how you refinished that dresser--so beautiful! And I thought the peony's were fake because they were so perfect. We can't grow those in Louisiana-it's just too hot and humid for them and they are my very favorite flower. Tell Marlene they are the prettiest one's I've ever seen. God is so good for making so many beautiful things for us to enjoy. Have a great weekend everyone!
Mary I couldn’t visualize the bed in your room, but you have such talent. The bed looks so cozy and good for your back etc. love the chest with the mirror....everything you touch becomes beautiful. Thank you for sharing your bedroom redo Blessings lovely lady 🌿🌸🌿
You could tack fabric on the backside of the wood frame, so the pretty frame would still show, but the metal legs would be covered. Turned out so pretty!
Hello Mary, my name is Sylvia and i'm living in France. The words "La Coiffeuse" 😢means " the hairdresser " with the adress in Paris and the street name is "Rue de Versailles". What a wonderful dresser and your bedroom looks so bright now, good job 😀👍
I like to add Dixie Belle’s “Big Mama’s Butta” for a wonderful scent to old dresser drawers. I love all of them but Orange Grove is my favorite. I also love the matte black paint. Beautiful makeover Mary. ❤❤❤❤
Your bedroom looks beautiful!! I especially love your “new” dresser which turned out absolutely gorgeous. The pitcher and bowl with the flowers from your sister are just lovely.
Love the bed away from the window! Beautiful! Maybe John could make wood covers around the metal legs. They would look like extra support but would match the maple bed frame he made. Also love the black dresser! Never did like the blinds though. God bless! Connie
Love your new bedroom! As far as hiding the legs with a bed skirt…you could always staple fabric to the INSIDE of the wood bed frame you guys made. This way the kegs if the bed frame are hidden and you still see the beautiful wood base your husband made 👍🏼
That bed looks so comfy. It’s very nice. Your bedroom looks beautiful. The floors are a perfect color that pulls everything together. A piece of my heart cracked a little as you painted that beautiful tiger oak dresser but you wanted to get your bedroom put together. I have to admit it does look nice n like how the wood shows through the saying. Maybe some day you’ll want to put it back to its original. It would look just as beautiful in your room. All in all the bedroom is so relaxing n fresh looking. Simple yet done in great style. Love it! ♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🌟
I love this video. We have an adjustable bed and I love the versatility of the table. If you want to disguise the black legs under bed, do a faux bois ( French for fake wood). You could do the ones on end that you see without moving bed. Maybe try to match the wood color of floor and they will "disappear". Blessings to you my friend, from SW Ohio (Cincinnati).
Oh, the bed, the beautifuI bed!!!! I would love to have a bed like that! Mary, again you have managed to change a room and make it even more beautiful. You have lovely taste and an eye for beauty. 💜
Dreamy! The dresser came out so nice and the new floors are lovely. The white pitcher and bowl is perfect, especially with those gorgeous peonies. I think you could make a simple bed skirt that you could easily velcro to the inside of the wood frame you made.
Flexispot has an incredible line of reasonably priced, quality furniture that is accessible and perfect for age-in-place. We have an ajustable standing desk and love it. It would be perfect for someone in a wheelchair.
I love your style of decor Mary. Once again you did a beautiful job on the dresser and flooring. The brown wood coming through the black painted dresser on the stencil is just beautiful. Your make over is wonderful! 👏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Hi Mary, I love your bedroom makeover! Your dresser is beautiful…and the pitcher/bowl set is SO lovely! The flowers are awesome in your room! ❤
Beautiful transformation Mary. How fortunate that your husband can do the floors as he did. I love the dresser!! Everything looks so cozy and warm. As usual it is so fun to watch your videos!! The bed looks great and comfortable. Thank you for sharing!
Great job on the dresser and making the bed yours. A great vintage lamp would make it all pop on your side table. I've had my eye on one on Amazon. I'm so glad you have a new space in your bedroom that's beautiful and cozy.
Beautiful Bedroom refresh Mary!! You mentioned a possible bed skirt, one with elastic. I suggest you use Velcro instead of elastic to fasten a bed skirt. I did that on my bed!!😊
It looks so nice, Mary! I love to refresh rooms every now and then, too. I really liked the decal idea. I am redoing a piece of furniture and may have to steal that idea!
Absolutely love the makeover. That bed is to die for it looks so comfortable and I adore the pitcher and bowl so lovely. You always make everything so warm and cozy. God Bless your beautiful family.
Mary, you and hubby did a fabulous job on your bedroom. I like the new floors. The bed and wood frame around the bed and I love the dresser you got off the marketplace. Everything looks great. I bet the sound of nature coming through those windows a heavenly. Great job! I really enjoyed your video.
Oh my goodness! We spent A LOT of money on our king sized adjustable bed. Thankfully, the motors are still going strong about 8 years later. The Flexispot is so much more affordable than what we spent! So good to know if/when ours gives out. Love the bedroom make over.
I enjoy your makeovers so much because you don't purchase the same things everyone else is furnishing and decorating with but you make it your own simply and on a budget! Can't wait to see the other finishing projects you have for the space which turned out calm and restful. (Just a thought, We have added little inexpensive white noise machines from Amazon to the bedside tables in our vacation rentals.)
The bedroom is just lovely! You did such a great job. I do think that a hanging light over in the corner would add height and fill in the empty space. Thank you!!
The room looks so serene! The dresser looks so nice in the room and the pitcher and bowl look gorgeous on top of it! I bet the peonies smell divine!! Can't wait to see what you find to add or change as time goes by!@
I am always mesmerized watching you make over furniture with a new vision! What a perfectly beautiful antique dresser to complement your makeover, and a brilliant idea for John to make the wooden frame for your metal bed to warm it up! :)
You did a beautiful job, you and your husband. I wasn’t sure about the dark bureau in your bedroom and the decal, but it looks perfect-and matches nicely w your iron headboard. Some pretty light curtains for summer and a pretty rug and you’re all set! Loved seeing you paint and craft again!❤
Mary, I love , love , love that style dresser. Beautiful find and adore it done in the black paint too! I wish my husband and I had gotten the individual adjustable beds like you have. I am now sleeping in a recliner because of my bad shoulder and lower back. The single adjustable bed made my husband feel like he was going to roll off the bed! So I graciously stop sleeping in the bed and went to a recliner which bends in all the right places for me “ thankfully or sadly” …haven’t decided. But I don’t miss his snoring 🤷♀️ I feel like the Cardinals are extra loud this year OR we simply have more around our home! They start singing at 3:30am in the pine tree by my bedroom window! So pretty though. Amazing transformation and love the color of the flooring. I like that type of flooring. I have really nice “ red and white oak” hardwood flooring through this house that my Dad laid down 60 years ago. But in the add on rooms we placed that flooring down and so easy to keep and long lasting!
Everything is so fresh and homey! Great job! I bet your and John’s backs are so happy with the new mattresses! Can’t wait to see rugs, curtains, artwork and any other special Mary touches you add!!!
Mary I really love what you did with your Master Bedroom. Also, the sign you were working on, “La Coiffeuse Rue De Versailles, Paris”, means in English , “The Hairdresser Palace of Versailles, Paris.” Hope this helps. ❤❤❤ Your Bedroom looks absolutely beautiful. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️
I always talk to my husband about my friend Mary, and he knows that I'm talking about you. This was a great video, I was shocked to hear you say you were going to paint the dresser black (not white) but it turned out awesome. I wish I had your energy. Love the bedroom makeover ♥
Love the dresser…suggestion, the brown window shade would look good black(spray paint it )and maybe a large tall fern/palmy plant behind your hanger stand.
What a lovely makeover! I just love the peacefulness that seems to penetrate your home! I feel sure it’s because of your gift of design! Thank you for sharing
Instead of a bedskirt that would cover the wood, you could use the adhesive velcro on the inside bottom of wood and attach a short skirt there to hide the metal legs of the bed.
I admire people with such talent to take a plain space and make it something so warm and inviting, you could move right in and make it your own ☺️♥️ If I were rich, I would hire you to redecorate my entire home 🤗
Beautiful transformation Mary! 😊 I thought coiffeuse meant hairdresser - from my high school French - so I looked it up and it does, but it also means dressing table, so your name and address on the drawer are exactly right for your new dresser! Such a calm and restful space you have created, so peaceful and serene. ❤
Hi Mary, You could always Velcro material to the back of the wood frame to hide the metal legs and also help with dust under your bed. It will look like a dust ruffle but not hinder your new bed's functionality.
To cover the bed frame legs you could make some small curtain panels and staple them onto the backside of the wooden frame. It would look like a bedskirt but not interfere with the mechanics of the bed.

I love how it turned out! You always do a lovely job making over furniture!
Where did you buy your mattress?? I didn’t see any when visiting the website!
That is what used to be called a hospital bed and bed tray :)
Love your projects. Heading to Patterson Art Studio!
Do you you still like your mattress?
That dresser is stunning, Mary! I love the idea of showing the wood under the stencil… The flooring warms everything, the overall look is gorgeous! Great job as always!

Your bedroom is such an oasis of calm! You found just the right bureau, upcycled it wonderfully, and selected a gorgeous pitcher and bowl to put atop it.

I usually hate distressed furniture, but the way you did it on the dresser really highlighted the beauty of the details in the piece. 👍. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
Such a simple and restful space. Some old-fashioned black ticking would make pretty curtains.
What a difference the flooring makes. The room looks beautiful!

I just bought a dresser the same kind. t was very beaten up and the veneer was damaged, so I painted it too.
@@mandybewkes5300 Completely understand and painting is always better than the piece winding up in a land fill. Yes!!! to the beautiful wood of that dresser!!!! I am distressed by the paint. What's more country than a beautiful old hand me down dresser?
You did such a wonderful job on your bedroom! Very minimal, love the walls white and the dresser redo is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
Love the simplicity and the cleaness to it. Also done on a budget, it inspires me!

Thank you so very much for your kind words! Blessings ❤
WHAT A TREASURE THAT DRESSER IS AND THE REFRESH TO IT THE FOCAL POINT OF THE BEDROOM WITH THE BOWL AND PITCHER ADDING TOUCH OF VINTAGE
We raised four little ones with a double bed . They’d all crawl in during a thunderstorm. They’d fall asleep and we would then go sleep in their beds. After 30 years we upgraded to a queen and now a king. It seems so huge. Your room looks lovely. As always.

EXACTLY! It would look beautiful.
The dresser turned out great. The wooden bed legs and sides makes the bed look like a country or Shaker style. 🥰
Loved everything about this makeover! So fresh and clean looking. In love with the bowl and pitcher. Great job!❤️❤️❤️
I have a bowl and pitcher like that my mom made me in ceramics 40 years ago❤❤❤❤
You both work so hard on your projects. I can't believe how good things look in your bedroom. Boy, when you clean, you clean!
Loved the dresser makeover. At first I was thinking, "OH NO not black", but as usual as with all your projects it turned out beautifully. Love the new flooring too. I am amazed at your strength. If you don't like seeing the bed frame legs you could add a second skirting board to the frame John made. The bedroom turned out beautifully.
Mary you and John are so very talented and creative, what a lovely job, sweet and loving couple you are!!❤️☺️
I love when you show the buggies when you ride by in your videos. Can’t wait to see the makeover.
Oh, the bed, the beautifuI bed!!!! I would love to have a bed like that! Mary, again you have managed to change a room and make it even more beautiful. You have lovely taste and an eye for beauty. 💜
Absolutely love how you changed the dresser. Love the matte black with the knobs. Love all your videos.
Dreamy! The dresser came out so nice and the new floors are lovely. The white pitcher and bowl is perfect, especially with those gorgeous peonies. I think you could make a simple bed skirt that you could easily velcro to the inside of the wood frame you made.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Hi Mary, I love your bedroom makeover! Your dresser is beautiful…and the pitcher/bowl set is SO lovely! The flowers are awesome in your room! ❤
I love what you did to the room. The dresser looks great and looks much better than the wardrobe. Beautiful peonies!
The room looks so much bigger now! It looks great! I have pitcher and bowls in both of my bedrooms as well, they have so much charm.
Beautiful Bedroom refresh Mary!!
You mentioned a possible bed skirt, one with elastic. I suggest you use Velcro instead of elastic to fasten a bed skirt. I did that on my bed!!😊
It’s always nice to have a fresh, clean room with an updated look. Just lovely.
Mary, I love your room update! The dresser is stunning! Love the bed! And the flooring is so pretty! So well done!🤍
It looks so nice, Mary! I love to refresh rooms every now and then, too. I really liked the decal idea. I am redoing a piece of furniture and may have to steal that idea!
As always, you’ve inspired me to do a little something to spruce up our personal space. I appreciate you and hope you are filled with joy and peace.
Absolutely love the makeover. That bed is to die for it looks so comfortable and I adore the pitcher and bowl so lovely. You always make everything so warm and cozy. God Bless your beautiful family.
Ah quarter sawn tiger oak...what a beautiful piece.

I love how it turned out, especially now that the headboard is away from the window 🌟. Always great watching your videos
The new bedroom is gorgeous Mary! I am doing a little makeover in our bedroom as well. You are such an inspiration!
Perfect! Love the black dresser and how it coordinates well with the black and white floor in the restroom.
What a lovely transformation. The best of both worlds - modern convenience with the charm of your beautiful style added.
Your bedroom refresh is beautiful. Loved how your dresser turned out. You certainly amaze me with your creativity and design. ❤
Your bedroom is so beautiful. I love how you take the old and make it beautiful.
The room looks so serene! The dresser looks so nice in the room and the pitcher and bowl look gorgeous on top of it! I bet the peonies smell divine!! Can't wait to see what you find to add or change as time goes by!@
I love the angling of the bed in the corner
Mary your bedroom turned out so lovely. The dresser is beautiful.
But I don’t miss his snoring 🤷♀️
I feel like the Cardinals are extra loud this year OR we simply have more around our home!
Your bedroom is gorgeous.
Gorgeous makeover Mary. I wish I had your energy. Love the sign. Steal on the dresser. Can't wait to see your final treasures.
BEAUTIFUL...THIS IS MY RETIREMENT DREAM!
I love the beauty that you added to your work table.
Simple, elegant, relaxing, zero visual chaos. Perfect. Love it!!!
I like the black dresser so much! It coordinates into the bathroom with the black floor well!
I love that stencil of the birds
