Given the vast Assyrian empire from 9th to 6th BC some Assyrian look more European and some more dark complication. My family all have green/blue eyes and light hair and skin. The big question is who were the Assyrians kings and their bloodline since they only married their own kind to keep corruption out, but it never worked and their was always civil war. Hope that helps!

May you show us historic connection between the ancient Assyrians and their lineage kinship with the new Assyrian people of contemporary people of Germany? Gaslit world, in fact, the Assyrians are the nation that knew our omnipotent God before any other nation. Remember when Jonah went to Nineveh and he was choked to see that the Ninevites were more religious and pious than himself. Give you an example, Did you remember what Jesus Christ boosted the faith of the Ninevites. REFER this to Matthew 12-41. There are more proves that the Assyrians used to introduce GOd of our times to the people who were heather and pagans. Remember, God himself called Assyria, "My mighty hand". Please try to read the Holy Bible again.

Assyrians certainly were a great people. But what's kinda more impressive here is that they managed to keep their identity into the present-day. True, today's Assyrians are vastly different than those of the Old, Middle and Neo-Assyrian Empires, but they still exist as minorities in Iraq and Syria.

they are not Assyrians just some losers who speak syriac and look weird
these people came from north after the Umayaad Caliphate which means after 2600 years from Assyrians
now they fight with the real Iraqi Chaldeans
funny thing is that we accepted Armenians during ww1 in Iraq and now they also started claiming to be Assyrians

Well, I've read a wikipedia page about you Assyrians a few days ago, so I do realize that I exaggerated with the "vastly different" part, but I still think you also exaggerated with the "exact same" part. Still, I find it very convincing that y'all are the direct decendants of the ancient Assyrians.

I am aware of that unique genetic profile thing. And, in my humble defence, I did say modern Assyrians are the direct decendants of the ancient Assyrians. But, I wouldn't call you the exact same, just as wouldn't call the people of fhe Serbocroatian dialect continuum today as the same as the people of that same continuum back in the 9th century.

@@HistoryTime U r very welcome.U know,on 11th of November there will be 100 years, since Poland came back on the maps after 123 years of Partition of Poland in 1795.Intresting fact is that the only country that did not agree to that and did not erased Poland from maps was Turkey-Ottoman Empire. And here`s the thing:Poland fought with Turkey from1485 to 1699,five full Wars, not including around 150 raids by Tatars. And look-the only country and Muslin country showed chivalry and said -NO!France,Spain,Italy,Enland-did nothing.Maybe this topic could make for a good video some day.Once again-all the best.

It is interesting how pre roman-hellenistic history has gone out of fashion. Around 1900 it was taught at every European university the big thing . Even my first text books printed around 1950 was heavy on Sumer and Akkad and Assyria and old Egypt. With greater emphasis on understanding socioeconomics scholars and curriculums moved on to periods richer in statistics, like the age of revolutions.
