- Welcome to Next Stop Please | Eps 1 Your Hot Question answered. This week myself and Carly from Rosso Bus Co. Sat down together to answer all your Question about the life of a bus driver. We chat in depth about Behind the scenes of what it's like to be a driver for Rosso and Blackburn Bus Co.

On the route side of things, the X41 wears Rosso yellow on the rear part of the bus and has Rosso contact details inside bus is run by Blackburn license and drivers...and now seemingly the Irwell Line is losing it's identity with Burnleys E400s starting to appear on it. I think the 464 will be put on the Blackburn license, the 481/3 will go on the Burnley license as with the Rossendale Rovers and the Rossendale Transport license will go into dormant status. When I was there, Blackburn drivers used to always complain about going on the 464 and it being a too demanding route but were (at the time) paid more...
I do believe that so many of our Blackburn colleagues are not a fan of the 464 but once you get used to it kinda like another 6/7 just a bit longer
I used to work for Burnley deport for around 9 years, left at the start of Covid when I moved to Leeds. My partner now works for Harrogate. Finding you videos, and listening to my partner talk about his day is seriously making me miss being out on the road. Love watching your videos, keep up the good work. Also, your hair in most of the videos is fine! Stop worrying lol :p

It was a good crack when I was at Rosso, I used to enjoy doing the 481/483s, my funny moment on 464s was doing it on a Sunday and catching up the bus in front because it was that late...I used to volunteer to do a 6/7 or X41, always used to enjoy Sunday duties because of the split nature of the duty could give you quite some time off in Accrington rather than taking it back to Intack for a break. Luckily, I never learned the 4 in Blackburn so never had to do it, never got the opportunity to drive the 152, same with the 22(5) and 1.
Oh I miss doing the irwell buses. It was a cracking route.
My pet peeve is passengers not having their passes ready when you’re running late 😅
Oh it hurts when you're late. I got frustrated today and just told the customer to politely sit down
Here in North Manchester (Ashton Under Lyne) at junctions/turns we have white background black character signs for buses, with service(s) numbers with an arrow indicating which way that service is to go. Maybe First, have had a lot of lost bus drivers! We are a bit rural round here ;)
We have some stops like that in Bolton but customers try to signal you at the wrong stop but we've been told to only stop our stops in GM areas.

brilliant video! (if this comes of any help to yourself or anyone) in bee network tranche 2, whats supposedly happening is transdev is loosing the rosso business and first will be operating the rosso network, with firsts current operations in oldham being taken over by stagecoach, not too sure on if this is definite but it seems that way, which is happening this month
We were aware some of these are more just about if we will be contracted as Rosso alongside the Burnley drivers. Or will be become Transdev

Have you ever had a bus breakdown, then change to a diff ent bus?
I've had it a couple of times where you limp back to the yard and then get a different bus. Takes a bit to get used to swapping to different bus

No I've not seen him in a little while. I might have to reach out and check he's okay. Not like him to not be around
heard he was on holiday but that was months ago so surely he would be back now he has told me he wants to leave and go into coaches so wether he has already done that i dont know @@anthonyleecooke

Do you think the 464 will be moved to Blackburn? Would it not be better to integrate with your Blackburn colleagues so your one team?
So the 464 and The b Team do operate out of Blackburn as Rosso. Now the B Team will be taken over by one of the two companies but Rosso 464 is staying we're just not sure if they will call us Rosso or move us to Blackburn bus co or back to being Transdev. Nothing really been said to us
It would be nice to feel like one team and we're still kinda hoping for it. As it will give us some other work Todo. I spoke to Carly yesterday as she really enjoyed the filing so we're planning some things with her next

Hello Anthony, Thanks for answering my question, Will there be another episode out soon if there is another one will be glad love these, Have you ever been in a crash while driving a bus and have you got any pictures of it and have you ever had someone press the emergency exit button on the outside to get onto the bus at a junction?

No worries. Thank you for watching. Oh that emergency button gets pressed all the time and it's really dangerous on our 464 buses as it puts the electric handbrake on
@@anthonyleecooke That’s so dangerous is that stock from optaré or aftermarket
@@J4CK574 I'm not 100 percent certain but it's 464 buses are the only ones in our fleet that have it. You have to keep your foot on the break before the doors close before moving away from a stop.

In ireland u have to be 21 to get the bus licence. Very few drivers here under 30.
Wow that's really strange and surprising 😲 I would if they will change it as it's an aging industry. There's not many young ish bus drivers here I think a lot of them move on to coaches
@@anthonyleecooke yeah I don't know why. I've heard it's coz it's very expensive to train for a bus licence so not a lot of younger would have the money to it although if you're unemployed you can do it for free.
@@stephenhyland4256 our government have been offering the company training grants to help the shortages of drivers you can even get a hgv Grant as well
I don’t know if you can answer this but In your next one. What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen a passenger do on a bus/in a bus station if you can answer that?

Say this to carley don’t worry I’m always on with Toni and when she pulls out of Blackburn bus station when she go round to the railway station she think she is a car not a bus and 9 odds out of 10 she takes the car route and think she is going home it not just you Carly it’s Toni as well

Agree Toni probably think so as well but don’t worry as long as you both get us to our destination in the end there no hard feelings as long as we get there in the end
