I've always been deeply impressed by composers' ability to make a song about two (or more!) things at the same time.
This is the most common example, where a song about a game is also a love song, but it still hits hard
I listen to this song whenever I need a stress release. I swear, I'm a 28-year-old man with chest hair, and this song chokes me up every time. Everything about it.
One thing that I've been wondering ever since watching the translation here is the line "I can't wait for you, you know?" It's kind of ambiguous. Does that mean "OMG I can't wait to see you! :)^_^smileyface" or "I'm getting sick of waiting, and I can't do this anymore, so I'm going to completely contradict everything I said before about waiting as long as it takes"? I still love the bittersweetness of the song either way, but it's very much going to affect how I understand the ending.
it's definitely the former - the translation is pretty much literal and i guess out of context the japanese is as ambiguous as the english, but in the context of the song the meaning is clear

@Matheus Pereira they screwed up the lyrics. They say Katamari twice instead of "Katarai kasanari Katamari karamari". They don't say "Karamari" at the end of that clever phrase.

Even though I was only introduced to this song via The 8-Bit Big Band's AMAZING arrangement of it, I definitely agree.
Even if you don't understand the japanese, the chorus just punches you in the feels and makes it hard to not cry.

in order to sing a japanese song in english you actually need to change some of the words to be able to get the same meaning with the same notes otherwise when you end up singing it it will end up a mess
a good example would be the them song for cells at Health comes first, there's the original sung in Japanese and the English version compare the lyrics of the English version with the translated lyrics for the Japanese version and you'll see what i mean
