That could be said for anywhere. I’m from ireland, and other folks I know who wear nice watches or jewellery a. don’t live in areas where that would happen, b. wouldn’t step out of a taxi earlier than the 5 second walk it takes to enter a building (like their surgery or firm offices etc.) in areas where it would. This goes for my friends in London as well. Also city centres in Ireland aren’t that bad. Don’t go to the rough parts and you’re sorted. Like London, I literally don’t know anyone in London who walks. Anyone. Then again, if you deck yourself out in stuff that can be seen to be valuable from kms away and then go for a leisurely stroll in places where the wrong sort hang out, it’s on you… also most big city centres in Europe where this could be a problem ie. Dublin, London, Paris etc. have private parks for city centre residential areas with locked gates and security to be used by townhouse’s residents.

Enjoy this video, I have the 124060 no date with the new caliber 3230 which I purchased from the AD new two months or so ago and I will be looking forward to ten years of wear just like you. Cheers
I got the 12 years old Sub no date from my mother last year, which was worn nearly everyday. It has decent scratches etc. but this thing is alive if you know what I mean. Loved it 10 years ago and still doing when I'm wearing it nearly every day :)
Great “experience review”, thank you! I prefer the no date too. If I could make a suggestion, you forgot to mention the reference number of the watch in the video (unless I missed it). I believe it’s a 114060, but it would be good to mention it at some point or ideally the beginning either spoken or in writing. Keep it up 👍🏻
I agree on the no date. I don’t get date complications. Obviously the time is forever changing, so you might look at your watch dozens or hundreds of time per day. The date changes once, that’s it. Why do you need it on display? Add one to yesterday and that’s today’s date for the entire day. Nothing changes
@Lee-pf2uv Are you os an opinion that everything revolves around what you do or don't get? The date on the Submariner is a useful and practical complication. The Cyclops is an iconic Rolex design trade mark. That's why! Whether you get it or not! If a date complication triggers you, get some help.
So nice to see a proper review like this instead of someone having a watch for 2 days, doing a review about how great it is and it being an exit watch and then selling it after a month to get the next fad - often for some random minor reason. Once you commit to a watch and don’t have the intention or possibility to sell it, you can enjoy it so much more I think. I got a Reverso duoface as a gift, but all the watches I buy myself I treat like a slush fund and sell them every 2-6 months to get something new. I bet loads of them could have made me happy long term but mentally I’m already looking at “what I could get if…” from about a month! The Reverso could get me so many watches hypothetically but it’s not for sale so I don’t look, or convince myself the next watch will be better. Great review anyway, thanks👌(liked and subscribed)
Thanks for the comment. I agree and I tend to have 2 category or pieces in my collection which aligns with what you’re saying. I keep some sentimental pieces like the gmt and sub as keepers and have other pieces that rotate in and out and the ones rotated never feel as special as the keepers.
This applies to most things like knives and shoes too. You don’t get the full noy out of wearing and using tgings untill they get a few scuffs and scratches and you actually start using them as intended, because you stop worrying about getting a scuff mark here and there. (Obviously I don’t mean neglect or abuse things)
I know the feeling of having The same watch on your wrist for ten years. I’ve been wearing a Pepsi GMT since 1967. For me it’s 56 years of looking at a red & blue bezel. I’m on my fifth sub. Buying a 2022 sub from my AD. Also I wear a 2022 Pepsi on a oyster bracelet since that is what my first GMT has. My sub is on my watch winder. I’ll sell it soon as my AD calls me that my SS Daytona came in. Then the sub will be sold.
Fantastic video and photography 👏🏻.. 12 months in for me owning my first Sub. I’ll look forward to many more years with mine. Thank you for the video, and the recent GMT Pepsi video ( which is a watch I’m aspiring to purchasing in the future ). Cheers.

Yes in my collection it is for sure the most worn easily on my wrist 60-70% of the last 10 years. Lots of sratches and a few bad ones but no dings on the edges which is a blessing. If the ding bothers you, you can always go get it laser welded which will solve that problem without breaking the bank or polishing it to death.
I had a pre-ceramic Sub for ten years and my dislikes were the poor precision (+6.1 secs/day), the easy-to-damage bezel (mine needed replacing within the first five years), the short 5-year service interval, the high price of servicing, the feeling of unease wearing it in public due to it being a thief magnet, the stamped clasp and the lack of on-the-fly adjustability.
