Do you have any personal opinions on what Jon’s purpose is? It has to be more then just uniting everyone against the long Night because if so then he would have died in the end of the Last episode like Beric and Melissandra right?. It was supposed to be facing the NightKing but that’s clearly Arya now; what could it be? I hope it’s not something simple and boring like just being King of Westeros because that’s both Predictable and something he doesn’t want.
All For One&One For All it’s a good question ..one I’ve been thinking about too...his purpose Was to unite everyone but also he does have claim to the throne even though he doesn’t want it he might realise that he has to ...also I think his destiny will have something to do with the third twist that was promised ..something to do with the NK and the Lord of Light....we can only wait and see.

I feel like, if anyone would've been _the_ pirate radio host of Westeros, it would've been Beric Dondarrion. What would the medieval fantasy equivalent of that be? Spreading musical notation of the latest songs from indie bards via raven scroll?
Truly underrated character, and definitely one of the truest "Good" men on the show. Sad to see him go but at least he went down protecting Ned's daughter, true hero.

The redemption of Jorah is a story for the ages. I see many of my own flaws and strengths through him; devotion, power, courage, dishonor, disgrace, and remorse. Undoubtedly one of my favorite characters in cinema and literature, right next to Theoden King. I know you will knock this out of the park. Can't wait!
I think it's a good idea to wait! Cause i'm pretty sure in Episode 4 Dany would remember him in one scene and would say something about him.

Hands down my favorite character in the series, he was an extension of Ned Stark, just as honorable.
@eddiewinehosen Ned wasn't a fanatic, but then again Ned was never brought back from the dead 7 times.
@eddiewinehosen I disagree, I think Beric was more honourable. Ned Stark made choices that ultimately led to failure and the suffering of the innocent, Beric Dondarrion made choices that saved lives.
In the end the ability to sleep at night is less important than the good that you do. Beric understood this, Ned did not

He was loyal to the lord of light until th end. In the moment when he threw that sword to save arya and then was overran by white walkers, he then realized his purpose...to save her. Thats why he smiled at her when he died. We are all links in a chain. Rip Beric.

Great stuff -- Beric Dondarrion/Richard Dormer totally should get a job as a jedi. God the episode was so epic and everything coming together for Arya's story and be fascinating to watch the show again knowing where she meant to end up and what his purpose was.
Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr were the greatest of unsung duos. Their purpose, although small, was the most significant.

I literally love everything about Beric.Not just him but Richard Dormer is the best fucking man I've ever seen. I also hope there will be some kind of a goodbye from Sandor to Beric. Or maybe if Hound wins Cleganebowl he can say something in honor of Beric since his mission from day one was to kill the mountain.

Loved this! Beric was my favorite character and I was sad to see him go. If I could just change the death, it would have been that Arya died first and Beric used his kiss of life to bring her back.

He was one of my favorite characters - honorable, the man who keeps fighting in Kings name, even after the king and Ned Stark who send him on the mission was dead. Then he was brought six times and never gave up in his faith. I knew he would die this weekend, but I didn't know for what purpose. Now I know.
And I hope there is the Other side for Beric after death, he just didn't see it, because the Lord of Light wasn't done with him in this world yet.
Hats off to Richard Dormer - this amazing actor with silk and rich voice in the show (which sounds hella different in real life because of an accent), that is kinda voice I want to hear reading bedtime stories to me. And hats off to his mad skills - I mean, the actor had to fight with the real flaming sword during all this years!

I just realized that the change in actors could be interpreted in a different way, when you think about how death has changed Berric.
RIP Warrior of the Light! A true Paladin and protector of the weak. His purpose is now complete! (Should have casted Lay on Hands though :p)
