Last spring I began following the Lawn Whisperers lawn plan. My grass looks great this spring. I began cutting it 2 times a week and it is green and lush. Just like you mentioned, no fertilizer needed until growing season! Truly enjoy your vids and the rest of the lawn care community.
Mowing will make it or break it! I've cut twice already just knocking a quarter to a half inch off the tips. I put pre-emergent and a light dose of fert down on Tuesday, lawn is perking up and so are the trash cans flying down the street with these crazy winds today 🤣🤣
Your grass looks great! Things in common. I’m a MS PE teacher suburbs of Chicago and love to take care my grass. Thank you for your educational videos!
The first mow is in the books. The season has officially started and your off to a great start. Mow , mow , mow your lawn gently down the ....... lol . Looks great already
I live in Cincinnati Ohio about five hours from Chicago and as of April 15th I still have not fertilized my yard. Spring I worry about Bio Stimulants getting my roots better and my grass thickened up first then fertilize second
I will be putting down bio stimulants with my first application next week. You can definitely put them down now if you would like also. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great results 👏 your grass simply looks great 👍 I used to mow with a machine just like yours in a golf course( the greens) here in Wisconsin, and the results were awesome 👌 👏 thanks for sharing this great video
Greetings from Canada! I was binge watching your videos today, trying to pass the time until my mowing season starts… Hopefully soon! So happy to see you out in the lawn for 2022! I have a quick question. I know you are using more liquid fertilizers now but I’m still a granular man. When you start fertilizing, would you recommend spoon feeding with 0.25-0.5 lbs all throughout the summer or just in the prime growing seasons? Appreciate you taking the time to answer my question and I can’t WAIT for more of your videos!
Thanks so much for watching my channel, Taylor! I appreciate your kindness. I’d recommend throwing down around .5 pound of nitrogen/1000sq ft. after your 3rd mow. Another application after your grass has its seed heads in May, then you don’t want to fertilize much at all during the summer.
What’s up, Spokane Guy?! This is a golf course greens mower I bought a few years ago. It gives the best clean cut and allows me to mow very short. Thanks for watching and commenting.
😂 Over the period of a few years, I cut my grass slightly lower and lower to get it used to a short cut. I had to do some leveling but now it's to the point that it's like carpet at 1/2 inch. Thanks for watching and commenting, Kdglock44.
I have Kentucky bluegrass and perennial rye. It took a while for the grass to get used to being cut that low but now it has no problem with it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Chicken Poo worked good then? I just used so far The Andersons 5-5-25 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide And 7-0-1 greene up from next with prodmine and neighbors are asking me what the heck did I do so far .
Can you cut the grass too often? I have a robot lawn mower and has set it so it cuts the entire lawn every 2nd day. half the lawn each day, so total of 2 days for the entire thing to be cut and i have set it to cut every single day

I slowly adjusted the height of cut lower and lower throughout an entire season with my rotary mower. Took it from 3 inches down to 1 inch then started cutting it with the reel mower.

I’ve mowed 3 times a week and did liquid iron and it looks amazing. But all my flowers are really doing well so maybe it’s the weather and rain?
Awesome! There is no better approach than mowing frequently. The rain definitely helps, but that liquid iron will give it a nice deep green color.
Your lawn is looking great ❤️
Thank you, Bertie! I appreciate you watching and commenting. Cheers!
It's all about that initial tip job! 😂👊
Great looking start!

Love your videos, we just got 18 inches of snow here in Winnipeg. We’ll be lucky to do a first mow at the beginning of May.
Thank you, Will! 18 inches?! 🤯 Say it ain’t so. It won’t be long until you are out laying down some stripes. Cheers my friend! Thanks for watching.

Is this suggestion for Bermuda grass as well in Texas ? I being mowing 2 inch high once a week.
Yes, your Bermuda will thicken up and spread laterally with frequent mowing. Thanks for watching, Jose!
