  • Let's pack more shoeboxes, so more children can hear the Gospel! Check out Blessingsinashoebox.com and our Facebook group: Blessings in a Shoebox for lots of helpful ideas and inspiration!
    God provides His children with really great gifts--through friends, family, and unexpected places-- so we can fill shoeboxes for the children (even as prices keep going up on so many other things)!
    I hope your passion for spreading the Gospel compels you to get involved now with Operation Christmas Child. We love to send shoeboxes to children all over the world! Operation Christmas Child & Samaritan’s Purse desires to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We are creating beautiful full Shoebox gifts to help make that happen. Please join us in this special mission!
    *Our goal is to send quality special items (with soft textures/colors/sounds) in every shoebox, so the children will feel God's love and desire a relationship with him when the Gospel message is presented at the OCC event! We are praying this will be the case for each and every child and beyond (family, friends, villagers, leaders, etc.)!
    Let's keep moving forward! Run the race to win! Let's live out Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Amen.
    Check out the multiple resources for Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing! Look on BlessingsinaShoebox.com for: 107 Rubber Bands and many other fun and useful items on the Best Deals Page, Printables, Tutorials, age appropriate recommendations for items to pack in your shoeboxes, videos, and links to many items for your shoeboxes!
    And check out: Blessings in a Shoebox Facebook Group for many links to deals on school supplies, plush, toys, socks, and more!
    ***It's fun to imagine the joy these shoebox gifts will bring to the children, but even better is the eternal impact I hope they have. My prayer is that God will be preparing the hearts of this little girl and her family, so that when she receives her shoebox she will believe the Gospel message and receive Jesus as Lord of her life. And, God willing, her family will follow suit!
    Keep packing shoeboxes to glorify God and share the Gospel. And keep looking up--the Lord is coming soon. Let's be found about our Father's business when Jesus calls us to meet Him in the air!
    * Franklin Graham says PRAYER and Personal Notes are the most important thing and he wants us to send MORE TOYS in our shoeboxes and to the processing center as fillers! And that's our aim! We want children to experience delight when opening their shoebox gifts. And may that delight cause them to feel a deep desire to know more about this Jesus who loves them. And may they receive Jesus as Lord and Savior!
    Want to know more about OCC and packing great shoeboxes? Watch Yves Dushime's story: From Hatred to Love on blessingsinashoebox.com. It's the first video on the page of videos at www.blessingsinashoebox.com. His podcast with Kristi Graham is even more enthralling. His testimony underscores the importance of school supplies in a shoebox!
    Are you interested in an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ? Believe in Jesus, admit you have sinned and ask him to forgive your sins. Trust Him and receive him as your Savior and Lord. Read all about God in the Bible, starting in Genesis with creation to understand God and sin and the punishment for sin. Also, read the New Testament to understand what Jesus did, so that we could have forgiveness and redemption from sin. The Bible reveals God's plan for his children and the world. It tells us that Jesus will come soon for his children and we get to live forever with him!
    We are blessed to have the Bible so we can know all about him.
    I am very glad I can participate with Operation Christmas Child to bring the good news of Jesus and eternal life to the children around the world who have never heard about him. We are making a difference for eternity!

    LOL! Your boxes are bulging like mine do! Yes, I am packing for 2024 now, and my Shoeboxes look an awful lot like yours. I was just getting ready to pack some more 10-14 Shoeboxes and decided to check out some videos to get me moving. I printed out a dinosaur coloring book after seeing yours.
    Looks like we have even more in common... I love your Longaberger basket! I was a basket addict before becoming a Shoebox addict.

    For 12-14 boy I like to include math compass, directional compass, curved ruler, straight ruler, paper clips ( always room for a few) ball of string or spool of wire, a harmonica, a jingle bell just for fun, small Lego, small tools (hammer, screwdriver, pliers), comb, plastic magnifier or bug boxes, baseball cap. Love it when grandchildren are around to help shop.

      I’m new to boxes… sent my first seven in 2023 and am trying for 13 in ‘24.
      I read somewhere that we are not allowed to send tools anymore due to customs? I have a few little screwdrivers and a little wrench or two… Do you think if I sent them not as a kit, but as a loose tool it would make it through our customs?
      Thanks for the ideas in your comment! Soooo many good ideas!

    I've enjoyed your video and great ideas. I discovered safe-painted wooden blocks, box of 40, at Ikea for an excellent price. Great for the 2-4 year old boys. I also utilize a rubber band like you do, on size 5 deflated soccer balls, then put items in the resulting space and include a ball pump then put rubber bands around the full box. Thanks for doing this helpful video. Yup, fill every cranny as we don't want to ship air!

    Wonderful box -- thanks for sharing and showing! I tend to pack my boxes "to the brim" and not bulging, although some of them inevitably bulge a bit. Usually when I pack a soccer ball, it limits what else I put in -- such as flip no flops. I sometimes wonder if the processors at the PC will get everything back into the box the way I packed it!

    • @christym.814
      @christym.814  Год назад +3

      My experience at the processing center has been positive. I never saw people dumping everything out. They were carefully thumbing through the boxes trying to see everything while also making sure there were no items that needed to be removed. Bulging boxes are nothing to worry about compared to the big boot shoeboxes that come in. Now those are very hard to fit, compared to the standard OCC shoebox.

    • @loissorensen3109
      @loissorensen3109 Год назад

      @@christym.814 I have sometimes seen people taking everything out. Some folks do it that way. Maybe they assume there's something at the very bottom that may need to be removed. Other people take everything out just to see what's there.

    I'm having a hard time with soccer balls. I'm making 6 boxes for 10-14 boys. I'm using the SP plastic shoeboxes. It seems they are a little smaller than the cardboard ones you have. I guess I should have gotten #4 balls but the #5 were several dollars cheaper. I hate to have to leave out the water bottle. Just those 2 things doesn't leave room for much else. I'm open for suggestions if you have any.

    I appreciate the tips on ideas for what to include and how to pack more. I love seeing your videos of items Michelle has personally made. But this box screams quantity over quality. I'm looking to build so many boxes, that I need to buy cheaper quality items in order to meet budget.

    • @christym.814
      @christym.814  Год назад +3

      I don’t know what you mean. My goal is quantity AND quality all for God’s glory-so the maximum amount of children will hear the gospel AND the very special quality items in their shoeboxes will stir their hearts to feel God’s love and receive Jesus as Lord. 😊 It’s the Lord that will provide for my shoeboxes above and beyond what I can hope and imagine.

      This box screams quality, and it is not cheap. The gospel is way too costly to be presented cheaply.❤ Let's do as many quality boxes as possible instead of more boxes cheaply. God looks on the inside.

    • @Michelle-b6y1v
      @Michelle-b6y1v Год назад

      I firmly believe that Children's Place clothes, flip flops and drawstring bags are all poor quality items. Children's place clothes are designed to fall alart and are made with sweatshop labor. Flip flops damage your body, they don't last long and are in the garbage before the summer is out. Drawstring bags damage your spine if used regularly for more than just a very short walk from your car to the soccer field or into the gym, not as an everyday backpack. These are all facts easily found online. The homeless in my area will not even touch flip flops.

      I don't know what you mean, either. I see both quality and quantity here. I've seen boxes that were way overboard. And I've also seen people packing dozens of low-quality boxes at a time. I think this strikes a happy medium. I just learned about "filler" items being donated for boxes that need extra help. Please consider packing fewer boxes with high-quality items.

    I'm sorry, but the method of sharing the Gospel via the shoeboxes is not the most fiscally responsible. The $9 (or whatever the current shipping and handling rate is) per box could possibly do much more good *helping parents* in the receiving countries to get vocational training or to purchase a goat or chickens, etc., or to provide a micro-loan to begin a business. That would allow the parents the DIGNITY of purchasing items for their own children. Or the collective funds could be put toward sponsoring a child or financing a community well for clean drinking water - a natural bridge to a local missionary teaching about the Living Water.
    Aside from the shipping costs, the donors who put the boxes together could very possibly make their contribution go further by allowing a reputable mission agency purchase the items at wholesale cost to be distributed by local missionaries. Whenever we’re purchasing items for the shoeboxes from Dollar Tree or Hobby Lobby or wherever, a portion of the purchase price is PROFIT for that store.
