It's a blessing to see the laughter n joy these children have while opening their box ,I'm a teacher who will be going through the books this coming week for the twelve weeks .love being a part of OCC.We gave out this January 23
Here in the Netherlands we do this for a charity called Schoenendoosactie. Been doing it for about 6/7 years together with my young children. Some years 6 or 7, other years just 2 when life got too much. I love this tradition and hope to keep it up and expand over the years. Shoebox season is my favorite time year!
As a child growing up in Romania I was the recipient of the shoe box for a few years in a row. I can attest that it definitely means a lot for a child. I still remember my first diecast car ever was from a shoe box. As a family we are so honored to be able to do the same for others, and our children get to learn to give as well.
@@SpiritLife yes. We were part of a protestant church. We would invite other friends from school, or neighbors to the Sunday School around the holidays and they would get a shoe box as well.
I was afraid to click on this video because I thought it might be shedding some kind of negative light on Operation Christain Child. I am so glad I finally did, because you had some very interesting insights into the organization of Samaritans Purse. Thank you.
@@SusanHarrell530 I understand. That's a valid concern. My goal was to attract skeptics, not plant doubt. I hope it's clear from watching the episode that they are indeed an incredible organization. I often use satire on my channel like in this video: ruclips.net/video/klAjM57Gt6I/видео.htmlsi=N9l7TBYOJmygxg2E ...but when it comes to Samaritan's Purse, there was no sarcasm to give despite the eye-catching title. Thanks for tuning in!
@@SpiritLife I did likewise...but when I saw your shirt I figured it was ok. I purchased plastic boxes from OCC this year...I like them because I don't have to wrap them and they're sturdy, but, they taper down at the bottom, so I decided not to use them for older children (I couldn't fit a composition notebook, and the deflated soccer ball took up lots of space). Thanks for the insightful video ☺️.
My family lives in Appalachia and we did do the boxes but what other children found out about us and teased us later wasn't funny. Our Christmas consisted of things like a toothbrush, hairbrush. A t-shirt and a marker each. A picture book most years. Sometimes soap. Our house was tar paper. We were content and gave what we could, some children bragged about what they gave and we said nothing. We gave more than we got most times and although they weren't brand names they were thought out. Eventually our home was fixed up better and better times came.
Your story has so touched my heart. I can only imagine how the Lord felt as you packed your boxes in you most difficult times. You gave your best. The widow with the two mites received honour from the Lord saying...others gave out of their abundance ( their left overs ) but she gave all she had...He valued her gift the most. I had a situation the same during a difficult time and the criticism still hurts somewhat. What they received was as if they were my own family. You gave your very best ...sacrificially. I’m so glad you didn’t quit even during adversity. Your love filled gift was of great worth in the sight of the Lord. Blessings dear ones ❤
Back in 1997 on Easter, I was 12 years old at a time and lived in Ukraine. My church was involved in distributing shoebox gifts and I got one shoebox gift. I was excited and amazed that there are people in America packing these gifts for someone they don’t know. Later that year my family moved to America. Years have passed here in America and I came across Samaritan's purse. I learned that this is the organization that’s doing a shoebox gift that I received back in Ukraine. So I began to pack shoebox gifts for children that I don’t know just like someone did it for me. And I have volunteered in a warehouse processing center in Minnesota.
As a Kid who grew up in Guatemala I still remember the joy it brought to me and is a core memory from my childhood. God bless the people who would make it possible.

A couple of years ago, I felt that my child was becoming too selfish and didn't understand how fortunate she was. I told her I would use the money I normally spent on her Christmas, and send it to SP. I had already done my due diligence and determined SP was trustworthy. I had her read a different story on their site each night, for weeks, and then choose 2 programs. Her: "I can't choose just 2. There's so much need." She chose the shoebox and mosquito tent programs. I told her the cash would go into gas and maintenance for the planes and forklifts, which is very important though not as exciting as putting boxes together. Her birthday rolled around, and she wanted to do the same. She chose the shoeboxes and a field hospital in Ukraine at that time. I've seen a big difference in her whining level since!

I have family members who served in Jordan and they said the same thing. Samaritan's Purse is an organization of integrity! Thank you, Franklin Graham, for honoring the Lord Jesus Christ!!
Honoring the Lord? Yeah right. By making a million and more a year, living in a fancy house most of us can't possibly afford, having all expenses paid trips all over the world. Yeah right, honoring the Lord. Sure. I can't stand Franklin Graham. What a total humbug.
@@annkynaston3605 Nah, he's right. I don't want to bash Samaritan's Purse. I do believe that it's fully of genuine believers trying to wanting to spread the love of Christ. But Franklin Graham runs the organization and is a false teacher. He really does collect over a million dollars a year from Samaritan's Purse, plus more than a millions dollars a year from the Billy Graham Foundation. Instead of pointing people to Christ, Franklin Graham is pointing people to American politicians to save them. It's really gross, and really sad.
I volunteered at the Atlanta warehouse and was completely blown away by the genuine Christianity and level of excellency I saw in the whole process. My students and I were so blessed by being involved!
yes! They have been involved in so many projects over the years: From hurricanes and wars, to Christmas gifts and just letting people know that others are thinking and praying for them as an individual person.
Many years ago, I'd included a photo of my son holding his little dog, with our address on the back. (I don't know if it's still allowed to do this). The following Christmas, I was astonished to receive a beautiful card, with an enclosed letter, written in Russian, from a little girl. I was able to find someone to translate it. She said how happy she and her sister were to receive their boxes, and told me how the school she'd attended had been destroyed. I was so touched knowing that she'd taken the time (and I'm sure the expense) of writing to us.
We do this in Canada too. We got a lot of family together for a potluck and told all to bring things to pack in shoebox. It was a lot of fun and we took in 72 boxes the next day. Glad you didn't say anything negative
I went to Mexico to deliver shoeboxes…….3000 in 5 distributions. Gut wrenching in one sense. Exhilarating in another to see the joy on the children’s faces!! Tip: please, please, please put a picture on the inside top of your box! I often saw the children take the picture out, hold it to their hearts, not even looking at what’s inside! And I had one mom who was visibly upset because her dgt didn’t have one! We were told they would take the pictures back to their homes, put on wall, and pray for us. I do have one question for the upper management……can balloons please be banned from shoeboxes?! Children in other countries often have no idea what it is….a recipe for disaster! Speaking form a nurses point of view! 😉 I consider balloons a dangerous toy. Thanks for considering.
Ooh good point! I'm not there this year but yeah balloons can be a choking hazard for sure. I loved when I stumbled across photos and notes from the families giving the boxes, very touching
excellent point! Sometimes the love of a gift is the most impactful gift.. a human connection and to know someone is actually sending love and caring sincerely is worth more than the greatest physical gift. What a wonderful comment to learn from! thank you!
Thank you so much for the advice! This year marked my First seven boxes I’ve ever done!! I was happy to say, I think I included wonderful items, a wonderful note, but I never thought about putting in a photo or picture of myself! What a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful idea! I must tell you that this has done more for me in a way, then will ever done for a kid!
When we started having grandkids we started packing the same number of shoeboxes as grandchildren . Some times the grandkids would come over and pack one and put a note in it for the person receiving it . We , as a family would also pray over them , each of us taking a turn praying . I wish I would have recorded more of these moving family building moments. We got up to 14 shoe boxes because we ended up with 14 grandchildren. We have not done it for a few years . Maybe it is time to start up again , only now include our great-grandchildren too . God is good !
When I was teaching, my class would bring in gifts for us to put in shoeboxes, each year. We would pack around 40 boxes each year. I encouraged my grandchildren to pack some shoeboxes every year as well. We are in Australia so it is not just America that sends shoebox gifts. 😊
Our church is packing 1,500 boxes next month. The last few years we had the blessing of our local police and firemen coming to assist us. It is something to behold to see how much they care about this ministry and are so helpful in doing the heavy lifting of crated shoe boxes for us. I can't say enough how this has blessed me by being a part of this ministry.
Samaritan Purse does many wonderful things. When my family lost their house in a tornado in 2013, Samaritan Purse learned that my parents were elderly and came and helped clean off the entire lot. They did not expect a thank you, but we could not help but be thankful for all they did. When they finished, they made a circle with my dad, prayed for us, and then gave my dad a Bible signed by everyone who had participated. It truly was amazing what they did. Yesterday, I helped pack Christmas boxes with the church I attend when home. There was much enthusiasm around the tables where we were working.
Amazing! Many people in the comments section have asked about why they don't do local charitable work but I tried to explain they do. Blessings and check out the rest of the channel when you get time ruclips.net/video/MAkUa5Cz1Ok/видео.htmlsi=17sQgQW4dCLRBf7V
During a mission trip to Romania we saw shoeboxes in every home with children. The gifts were cherished but a family photograph was the real prize. We were asked if we knew these people, they are from America.
I'm in Jamaica and our church, community and other churches have benefitted from these boxes. The children in the outreach communites are always excited when they receive a box. If there is a return address inside, we always encourage them to write a Thank you letter, which we gladly mail on their behalf. It is amazing the variety of items in each box. All boxes are kept sealed and only opened by the child gifted.
wow! that would be amazing to see them actually receive their packages! You are so privileged there with that! How amazing to hear you talk about this!
One year many years ago…I had to sign my son up for the Salvation Army Angel Tree. I will never forget such kindness. He received what he asked for and more. This person went to great lengths to fill his box. I will never know this kind person…but many blessings to all the Angels. Bless you Operation Christmas Child.
Oh my gosh, the title made me go what? Sam's Purse is the ONLY organization I totally trust and send donations to. Don't even rain on my parade here dude, but I said wait, he's wearing one of their shirts. Don't scare me like that, LOL !!! Much relieved he's actually saying they really are what they claim and even better. We already knew that.
I saw them @ the dayton airshow & it looked legit until I did some research. The CEO rakes in 800k/year & 180 other employees pull in over 100k/year, absolutely disgusting using volunteers work & peoples hard earned $ to line their pockets
When I read “ the chocking truth behind….” I was worried about the boxes I had donated, however, everything is fine, the videos with many kids smiling, fill my heart with joy. Thanks Jesus for every people that works for your kingdom. 🙏❤️🎁

Love, love this! Warms my heart to hear how the Lord blesses the integrity & purposfulness of this organization. I have been sending shoeboxes since my daughter was in 4th grade. (She is 26 now! 😂) Praying that God continues to use this mightily for His Kingdom.❤
MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN MISSIONARIES FOR OVER 53 YEARS IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES. WHEN WE RECEIEVE THESE BOXES, THEY ALWAYS OPEN UP DOORS OF MINISTRY FOR OUR CHURCH PLANTING WORK. WE THANK GOD FOR EVERY BOX AND FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THIS MINISTRY POSSIBLE. IT IS SUCH A BLESSING AND HELP WITH GOSPEL WORK.
Our family has participated in this program through our church for many years. Our daughters really enjoyed going shopping for the items to be placed in the boxes back when they were growing up. I did discover a "shocking truth" revealed in this video a few years ago. I was always under the impression that the deadline for turning in your box was so the children could receive them by Christmas. As you mentioned, not so due to all of the logistics involved. I was certainly disappointed when I first discovered this fact but certainly understood. Besides, nothing wrong with spreading Christmas throughout the year! Thanks for producing and sharing this video and best wishes for your continued success.
Glad it’s year round as they will be cherished year round. Imagine getting a box on the Friday Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for us or on the Sunday when he rose from his tomb. A great introduction to his great gift to us all.
You had me going for a bit! I was waiting for the bad news. My wife has just very lovingly packed some boxes and I was dreading giving her bad news. But, thanks, none the less. It's wonderful to know that those boxes will spread real joy around the world. God Bless
@@lindae1980 well, that's EVERY title, some are more effective than others. My goal was to attract skeptics though and so far is been helping spread the good word about them. Thanks for tuning in!
For sure! Of course I love the humanitarian component, but the fact they share the Gospel is the true benefit. The kids can see the love of Jesus in a practical way
Thank you so very much for making this video! I am a year round volunteer with Operation Christmas Child Samaritan’s Purse and hear from time to time false information and it breaks my heart because people give their whole lives to this endeavor and I know first hand that these boxes have an eternal impact on thousands of children! I have heard back from many of the children who have received my personal boxes! They get where they are supposed to go and bless many children. These boxes are truly taking the gospel to the ends of the earth!
Indeed! And thank you for your feedback! I admire the fact you volunteer year round, that's incredible! Subscribe if you haven't already, I'd love to hear from you more! God bless :-)
I worked in the lines in Duluth Ga (thru my church), where we went thru the boxes, checking for things that they asked Not to pack. Ex: Don't include foods/candy/gum; No liquids (soaps Etc), Bar soap is good. Etc. They are pretty specific as far as asking you to pack items by the specific gender & the specified age range on the label, so they know who to give the box to. IF we had to remove something, they had plenty of replacement items to add back in! I always put some kind of bag; durable sak in the box because we don't know where it's going, or their circumstances. This way, they can keep their belonging together! It was a very Cool experience working out there!
I have packed shoe boxes many times. I have never doubted that Samaritan's Purse did the right thing. They are truly, earestly, trying to spread God's word!
As a child growing up in Latvia when I was around 10 I think, my brother and I received one shoebox each. I can say that it was so amazing. You could feel the love that it was created with. We had letters from kids around our age. I imagine doing the same for other kids with kids of my own. It is such a beautiful idea that has changed so many kids childhood.

I love Reverend Graham, very selfless as his father was. I have put together the boxes for the Christmas Child, in this day and age, it’s wonderful to take care of the children. God bless everyone involved!
Thank you so much for this gifts,I'm a mother from Fiji,my daughter received her gift from church and she was overjoyed ,she was so so so happy, she's wanting me to buy her a church shoes cause she normally wear her slippers and it wearing off to a point where she can't wear them anymore but I couldn't cause her younger sister's 1st birthday is coming soon ,so i told her after baby's birthday cause our budget is tight ,she received her box and she got a pair of pums ,a beautiful dress, stationarie, notebook a tote bag, lunch bag beautiful bracelets and even hair accessories and toothbrush ,Thank u so so much Samaritanpurse and everyone who have helped filling up this boxes and putting a smile on this children's faces,May the ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES ABUNDANTLY WITH LOVE,JOY,PEACE AND BLESSINGS BEYOND MEASURE. ❤❤❤❤
Wow, gnash such an encouraging story! Thank you for sharing how much Operation Christmas Child impacted your wonderful family! How did you find my channel by the way? Jesus bless you!
Thank you for telling your story. It's so cool to hear that God put exactly what your daughter needed on the heart of the person who was packing the Shoebox. Amazing!! It helps to know the effect a shoe box had on a young girl. It also gives us ideas of what we can include in our boxes.
I am from Romania and i used to get them a few times. They were amazing, the joy we had thinking that someone thought of us, people that couldn't afford gifts. I still have a Hotwheels diecast from the last box i got. I remember the yoyos that would light up, the few sweets that we only seen on TV. This brings back some memories...
my favorite part of volunteering at the atlanta processing center is when we stop and pray over the boxes...yes, it is a huge, loud, organized chaos filled warehouse but...when we stop to pray over the boxes...you can hear a pin drop in there! i live in west central florida and every year some of us come to atlanta to volunteer. we work on shoeboxes all year long at my church packing hundreds of boxes with great things...many of which are intricately hand crafted including teddy bears and dresses and shorts and purses and jewelry! we include fishing kits and tool kits we have assembled together along with school supplies and hygiene products and of course some great toys like soccer balls w/hand pumps and dolls, books, etc. our church is also a county drop off location during collection week. it is an incredible ministry to be a part of and i seriously don't know who gets blessed the most...me or any number of people along the way right down to the kids receiving the gifts! praise God for OCC and samaritan's purse! thnaks for sharing the video...blessings! \o/
I have packed a few, but also had the privilege of working at my church, which is a collection center for several cities in California's Central Valley. What a joy it has been to see two completely full semi truck trailers of boxes, knowing how many children the contents would bless. I wouldn't miss being a tiny part of this for the world. God has given us so much, and it is wonderful to be able to share some of it with children across the world.
Thanks, I can attest that we have always received a huge blessing out of filling and giving a box of Jesus Love, through our heart! It is enjoyable to shop throughout the year and put items aside to go in an OCC shoebox. We could have told you, Franklin Graham is the real deal! Anything he is involved in is the real deal as well. Mr. Graham has a heart for God and wants to see others come to Christ any way they can. Even if it's something as simple as an OCC shoebox!
We have a group of people who pop in our shoe shop for many boxes and they start prepping early in the year. A few of them accompany the donations to their destination and their stories are heartwarming. I’ve filled many boxes over the years and have no problem whatsoever wondering if they reached the kids. It’s a better way of giving than just sending money. The volunteers say the happiness they bring is overwhelming and the recipients share the contents and make no one misses out. ❤
Knowing how inflation is hitting us hard right now, my church has decided to tackle the OCC differently this year. Typically they may start the collection of items in September or October. However this year it was May or June when they asked for toothbrushes and toothpaste. The next month they moved to small toys, then soap and washcloths, hair brushes and accessories, etc. I appreciate being able to add a few things to my cart instead of trying to buy a bulk of items all at once.
Please check the website. Toothpaste is no longer allowed due to customs issues. savingtowardabetterlife.com/2017/05/operation-christmas-child-shoebox-packing-update-2017/
This green box absolutely made my Christmas a few times, and that of other children at my church. I used to wonder who packs these boxes and how do they manage to always get it right. The joy and excitement and gratitude they bring are indescribable ❤️❤️❤️
I am from the USA, but currently living in El Salvador, my husband's home country. It has been so beautiful to see OCC's work and impact from this side. The Kiddos are so blessed receiving their boxes. I love how blessed my friends and family are State side when they pack them too!❤
For many many years we have supported a British version called Blythswood and latterly Operation Christmas Child. I remember my son’s school doing these shoe boxes in the mid 1990s (from the UK) and sending these to Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. We put a little note in ours, wishing the recipient a Happy Christmas, and we actually received a reply back as a thank you from the child (his family). It was unexpected but really nice to receive that.
I love this ministry. So thankful to be a participant packing and working with my local church in this ministry. I get so excited seeing the boxes returned to our church and the smiles on the faces of children and adults alike proud of their boxes. Praise God if you think America is lost take part in this ministry. The love pouring out of these boxes will change your thinking.
What is interesting is that many churches have promotion drives and collect these boxes to ship out to the collection centers, and I see every single box laid hands on and prayed for to be a blessing to a child in need. The number of prayers laid on each and every box is simply astounding. To hear that the center's staff stop and pray for the boxes is yet another layer of prayer and concern placed on these gifts.. It just blows my mind with the ultra-genuine care and compassion these boxes bring... not only to hte receiving boy or girl, but the hearts of the people filling the boxes.
I enjoyed this inside look at what Samaritan's Purse is and what it does. I have been donating to Samaritan's Purse for several years and will always believe the Lord led me to get involved. I am on their mailing list which is very inspirational and a calling to prayer. God bless this worthy operation.
My friend and I look forward to doing our boxes every year. We've turned it into a tradition of giving and we go out to eat after dropping off the boxes at a local church. I've often wish I could be there to hug my child when they opened their box.
Love Samaritan’s Purse . Some of the best people I know have the highest integrity and character as pallet workers. So much hard work and skill to move all the stuff we buy and use daily around warehouses and into trucks.
My niece received a gift box through a local church...can never forget the happiness on her face... unfortunately she had epilepsy and died of covid 19 in 2021 She loved the Lord dearly...
I organized packing parties through my church and throughout my community for years and then I decided to see for myself what it is like for the children at the other end. I went on an Operation Christmas Child mission trip to Chile in 2009. It was just as you said Bruce, everyone involved in the process of getting the boxes in the hands of children were Christian believers, and even the last stage (handing them to kids) is bathed in love and prayer. I recall that our Chilean bus driver got saved in the process!!! Some locations had vacation bible camp events for the kids. Some would come from 50 miles around to receive a box! There was so much planning and coordination of the local Chilean churches for months before we got there. The people there were all so grateful! Even the mothers cried and hugged us with gratitude. It was such a privilege to serve in God's Kingdom this way for the furtherance of the gospel.
We packed up a shoe box and sent it to the Ukraine a few years ago. The little boy who received it sent us a thank you note and we stayed in touch. They are such sweet people and we felt so blessed to share Christmas with someone around the world.

So glad to hear this good news. My 2 oldest great grand children and I pack 4 shoeboxes online from my 4 great grand children. We pick kids ages that relate to my gg children. They choose toys online as if it were for themselves. We just wish we could see the actual kids' faces when they get their boxes.
let me tell you, not only children in africa enjoy this. i grew up poor in central europe, i got a box like this one time when i was a kid. i still remember the lime green slinky, the smell of a blue soap(i didnt even use it i just kept it in my bed because it smelled so nice, i didnt want to use it up. i smelled it every night before going to sleep for years. i remember the "life saver" candy, i remember how they smelled. i remember everything. it is one of the most precious moments in my life. A gift like that for a kid from a poor family is just unbelievably impactful. I mean there are no words to describe how happy i was. to think that for like 20dollars/euros you can bring so much happiness to a child's life and give him a memory that he will carry the rest of his life. thank you to everyone who participates in making these gifts and all the logistics of it.

In our materialism-driven culture, sometimes it's difficult to realize how much so little (by Western standards) can mean to a child in a third world country. This video helped open my eyes to the significance of these items to these children.
@@SpiritLife YES--Please tell them to PLEASE do longer videos and send them to each church group that contributes so the givers can see what its like for the kids to open their boxes.. So many people have NEVER had feedback like that and it is so discouraging for them. Especially children--if we want them to keep doing this as the years go on--you need to SHOW them the results of their labors, at least once to inspire them to continue. Make it a RUclips accessible video as well, so it can be more easily shared with the church--not a CD, which limits it to only be shown at church.

I have worked with their Canadian Operation in their warehouse and they do great work. In Canada, they have volunteers that come into the operation and not only pack up the boxes but make up more boxes for those who want to just donate and the volunteers make it up for them. You can donate online. Or if you want just donate online because they could also use the funds to help pay for the shipping of boxes. The demand is very huge around the world. Some great stories come out of those countries. They have had stories where they pray for all of these boxes and God directs it to those who need certain items in their box. When the child opens the box the coat or t-shirt, or school supplies they need is in the box. The other part of Samaritans Purse that is huge is its disaster relief program where they go into communities that have been devastated by hurricanes, floods, tornados, and much more to help them with temporary shelters and much more. They are very organized in all they do to get to those areas of the world.
@@drdecker1 so true! I just got done volunteering in Western North Carolina with their flood relief. They are very organized and so fruitful! God bless you!
Love this video! I have served at the Charlotte processing center many times. I have a friend who is an area coordinator in Ohio. We both can attest to all you said. I love not just the physical value but the eternal value!
I really want to thank all those who pack these gift boxes with so much of love, care and sacrificial giving and to the organizers. I was so glad when my boys received one shoe box for Christmas and I just didn't have to worry about getting them Christmas gifts.
I had never even heard of OCC shoeboxes till 3 yrs ago...through my sisters church. Started with 8 boxes...now up to 26 this past year..not as many as some are doing...but making quality boxes filled to the brim. No junk items. This year I will also start making "filler items"...have started buying clothes, toys, etc for 2023...love doing this!!
It's fun to get decent quality items on clearance to save for box-packing time. Many stores sell crayons and other school items cheaper in late summer, too...I like to stock up 🙂
Thank you for putting our organization in such a good light Bruce. You give an amazing testimony that honors the Lord, and would put a smile on Franklin’s face for sure. Blessings brother.

As someone who had packing parties in several churches over the years, it is always a joy to have the children pack and leave brief notes to the receiver of the gifts. We wished there had been a way back then where the kids could communicate so they could each others' faces.

Iv been packing these shoe boxes since I was a child, I can 100% say they are doing what they are saying are doing from volunteering myself, highly recommend doing it with your kids, churches or schools please remember to pack your box as full as you possibly can! Even though they don’t judge on cool please think about what a child would need of that age/ like.
Just packed and labeled my box along with a prayer for child, what a joy to participate thank you samaritans purse for all u do in jesus name blessings!
I love packing shoe boxes and seeing the videos! I also love watching the videos of their agricultural programs where they bless people with chickens or honeybees and help them get stated with a self sufficient income.
When I saw this video here on RUclips I thought is was going to be a attack on Brother Grahams operation and was going to pass on watching. I'm glad I opened it and watched. Thank you for taking the time on this! God Bless
I have contributed to this wonderful organization through Operation Child Shoe Boxes many years. It is awesome. This year I am going to include Christmas cards with a note. Thank you so much.
I volunteered some years ago at the Charlotte facility. Just like you explained, I too was amazed at what the people were putting in the boxes. It wasn't the gifts so much. It was the notes. It was a very moving experience.
I was able to participate in this for the year wit my church. It was truly a blessing. praying my gifts bless the little boy that receives it. Both physically and spiritually

My family had been packing them since my mom was about 8, she’s now 35 and we are still packing I’ve been helping my grandparents since I could put stuff in a box pretty much, we have probably packed over a thousand boxes, it’s just us, we don’t have help from our church or anything, we just go searching at garage sales and thrift stores for new items, we have done 150 a couple years in a row and we packed them all in 3 days. We have had many people come to our house to help us put them together and I’m happy to tell people about them. Let’s just say occ has become a part of my life❤️💚

Several times years ago and even volunteered for a truck packing event! Planning on planning a few this year with my boys.
@@respawncheetah that's amazing! How did you first get involved with it?
That's an amazing testimony, thank you for sharing! Was your family Christian at the time you received the gifts?

Same here. Scrolled halfway through, saw it was good, and went to comments. I don't appreciate click bait, especially from a Christian.
@@SusanHarrell530 I understand. That's a valid concern. My goal was to attract skeptics, not plant doubt. I hope it's clear from watching the episode that they are indeed an incredible organization.
@@littleredhen2894what do you use instead of the OCC boxes. I find it very hard to fit everything into them-especially things for the older boys.
What an amazing testimony! Thank you for sharing this. We would love to hear more from you on other videos on the channel too! Bless you
Beautiful story. You gave from the heart, not expecting recognition. You know what it means to be grateful for the "necessity of life "VS. Wants.
God bless you, dear soul & your family!!! Tyfs your wonderful story. ♥️
That is a sweet story.

I have a sad story; my church dropped Samaritan Purse shoeboxes because we couldn't get enough volunteers

💯 agreed! It was a great honor to work with them!
It's the ONLY charity I give too. Love the Graham family and can't wait to see Billy when I finally get to Heaven. ❤❤❤
I was so touched knowing that she'd taken the time (and I'm sure the expense) of writing to us.
...would be a letter that goes straight into my scrapbook of memories from life changing events.. just.. wow!
We do this in Canada too. We got a lot of family together for a potluck and told all to bring things to pack in shoebox. It was a lot of fun and we took in 72 boxes the next day. Glad you didn't say anything negative
Its amazing how focusing on others' needs brings joy to a group or a person. that is an amazing story! It sounds like a lot of fun too!
A wonderful idea!

What a wonderful comment to learn from! thank you!
I also suggest "always" a toy of some sort or another - even if it is just a Hot Wheels. Don't just send gloves and hats and toothpaste.
Indeed! ❤
When I was teaching, my class would bring in gifts for us to put in shoeboxes, each year. We would pack around 40 boxes each year. I encouraged my grandchildren to pack some shoeboxes every year as well. We are in Australia so it is not just America that sends shoebox gifts. 😊

I've been wanting to do this for awhile. Thanks for this review which confirms this wonderful program.

I am from the USA, but currently living in El Salvador, my husband's home country. It has been so beautiful to see OCC's work and impact from this side. The Kiddos are so blessed receiving their boxes. I love how blessed my friends and family are State side when they pack them too!❤
I’ve helped with the processing of the boxes before. It is overwhelming to see the number of gifts that are being given by so many individuals.
For many many years we have supported a British version called Blythswood and latterly Operation Christmas Child. I saw the title and watched with trepidation as I expected you to be "slagging off" the whole idea. What a wonderful surprise and blessing to hear your report - thankyou, God bless you and may Operation Christmas Child continue to grow, (From South Wales, UK)

What a great video, it’s wonderful to see the entire process! My husband & I pack shoeboxes every year & it’s my favorite part of the Christmas season. It always fills my heart with joy to tell kids about Jesus!😊
Amen, keep up the great work my friend! Thanks for running in to the channel!
My Mom and I did shoe boxes for several years thru our church. We would spend $40-$50 a box or more. We would collect all year for the boxes. We both really enjoyed doing this

We loved having you, Bruce! You made a difference and brought Jesus into that warehouse. Endlessly grateful for your yes to serving!
Thanks, as I said in the video it was an honor to work there. Godly people like you made it a joy! By the way, the song on your channel is AMAZING!
I enjoyed this inside look at what Samaritan's Purse is and what it does. I have been donating to Samaritan's Purse for several years and will always believe the Lord led me to get involved. I am on their mailing list which is very inspirational and a calling to prayer. God bless this worthy operation.

I'm so glad there's still honest Organizations.
This organization is worthy of our support. Great job.
My friend and I look forward to doing our boxes every year. We've turned it into a tradition of giving and we go out to eat after dropping off the boxes at a local church. I've often wish I could be there to hug my child when they opened their box.
Love Samaritan’s Purse
. Some of the best people I know have the highest integrity and character as pallet workers. So much hard work and skill to move all the stuff we buy and use daily around warehouses and into trucks.
Indeed! Thanks for tuning in by the way! God bless you and check out the channel if you have time :-)
I'm from Philippines and this is the First time i received a kind of gift ❤ Thank you so much

My niece received a gift box through a local church...can never forget the happiness on her face... unfortunately she had epilepsy and died of covid 19 in 2021
She loved the Lord dearly...

I can attest to that after having just returned from an OCC vision trip 3 weeks ago to Ecuador.
We packed up a shoe box and sent it to the Ukraine a few years ago. The little boy who received it sent us a thank you note and we stayed in touch. They are such sweet people and we felt so blessed to share Christmas with someone around the world.
I live in an age care home in Australia. Our activity group made up quite a few shoe boxes for this organisation. ❤️
That's a great thing for y'all to do!

So glad to hear this good news. My 2 oldest great grand children and I pack 4 shoeboxes online from my 4 great grand children. We pick kids ages that relate to my gg children. They choose toys online as if it were for themselves. We just wish we could see the actual kids' faces when they get their boxes.
That's very sweet! Also, I like your profile picture! Bless you
From Michigan. We do this every year. A great way to share Gods Word.
let me tell you, not only children in africa enjoy this. i grew up poor in central europe, i got a box like this one time when i was a kid. i still remember the lime green slinky, the smell of a blue soap(i didnt even use it i just kept it in my bed because it smelled so nice, i didnt want to use it up. i smelled it every night before going to sleep for years. i remember the "life saver" candy, i remember how they smelled. i remember everything. it is one of the most precious moments in my life.

Praise God! I'm glad it had a positive effect! Tune in to the channel more if you can :-)
Blessings
@@SpiritLife YES--Please tell them to PLEASE do longer videos and send them to each church group that contributes so the givers can see what its like for the kids to open their boxes.. So many people have NEVER had feedback like that and it is so discouraging for them. Especially children--if we want them to keep doing this as the years go on--you need to SHOW them the results of their labors, at least once to inspire them to continue. Make it a RUclips accessible video as well, so it can be more easily shared with the church--not a CD, which limits it to only be shown at church.
@@jlotoo850 I'm not on staff but I can pass along the message to some folks I know there. Meanwhile, here's their RUclips channel:

My former church in Canada had these shoe boxes at Christmas. It was such a pleasure to pack these boxes

That's absolutely AMAZING!! People like you are why this ministry is so incredible. Blessings!
Good for you. Sounds like some kids will really be blessed to get the boxes you've packed.
It's fun to get decent quality items on clearance to save for box-packing time. Many stores sell crayons and other school items cheaper in late summer, too...I like to stock up 🙂
Good for you and God bless your efforts.

My hubby and i help buy items for bout 5 boxes last years. It was a blessing to help with the 5 boxes we both filled up. Our experience was so fun and wonderful. My name is Amy. God bless u.

Great advice! Good bless you!
Just packed and labeled my box along with a prayer for child, what a joy to participate thank you samaritans purse for all u do in jesus name blessings!

Let’s just say occ has become a part of my life❤️💚
that's amazing! Keep up the great work!
Please ma how can I get this for my children and my friend's children 🙏 because I love this really I will be very happy for my children and friends.!!
