Thanks for the cost breakdown. It's amazing sometimes to see just how inexpensively you can make up a really lovely filler item that will bless a child so much. ❤
Thanks, Stephanie. That’s why I decided to include the prices. I, too, was surprised at how inexpensively these came together when I started calculating the prices of each item. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment 🥰
Great filler video! BTW, love the coffee table, no need to explain. Very rustic! I do the same and watch tv as I do pencil packs. Great set up. Very organized. Very pretty pencils! Great find in the pens and crayons. Oh wow, love how you overfilled the box with pencil packs! Fun! Much needed for the processing center. Thanks for sharing your process, Trish! The pencil packs are very colorful, and fun. ✏✏✏
I love making pencil packs. I was inspired after watching videos from you, Denise Rogers and Sharon from East Coast Stories. You all provide such great examples.
I love your setup. You got some great prices on your supplies. I’m done with mine for this year but you inspired me to look harder for better deals and just what to put in. I did fine those black pens for 1.00 and the erasers for 2.00 so started collecting for next year. Thank You for sharing, I always love your videos❤️
Lovely setup! Great idea to use the coffee table so that you can relax and watch your favorite show while making pencil packs. I love your coffee table and the packs are colorful and fun. I will try that size bag sometime. ✏️❤️
Thanks, Denise! I thought I ordered the same size bag that I used last year, but I guess it is smaller. As it turns out, I actually really like the 4 x 10 size, but last year I was able to fit in some mini coloring books that, evidently, are 4 1/4 inches wide. I didn’t have that many left from last year, so no biggie that they didn’t fit in the 4 x 10 bag. Who knows what size I used last year? 😂
Great job Trish! Love pencil packing videos! Those will go fast at the PC and I agree it’s probably best not to label. It goes so fast and the volunteers can decide based on their need! Love it! Thanks for sharing! ✏️🖊️✏️🖊️
Great idea! I had not thought of school supplies as filler items. I only thought stuffed animals or fun things. This is a great idea that is not just fun, but also useful! ❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏
Thank you so much for sharing! I was able to purchase 50 plastic pencil cases for $5 at a bargain warehouse, so I am gathering ideas for making these boxes into filler. ❤❤❤ Your video gave me some great ideas. 💡💡 God bless!
Excellent video! I love those bins you used for the filler items. I may have to go find some of those myself. I just moved and don't have as much OCC space as I did in my last house. I have to figure out how to make one closet work 😂😂
Thank you! I got the bins at Dollar Tree. They usually have them every year, but change the colors. They are great for small items, like school supplies and small toys…balls, fidgets, etc. They are especially good when all the items are the same thing, so you can just reach in and grab what’s on top without having to dig through what’s in the bin to find what you want. Shelves or a shelving unit in your one closet will hold a lot. Adding some of these stacking bins to one of the shelves will keep those small items readily accessible. Under bed chests could work for additional space. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, L O L. Good luck!
great looking packs Trish! we finished ours last night. i love those reward erasers, we got a few boxes when we crossed the border during back to school shopping... thanks for sharing! 💖💖💖
Hi Trish, These are awesome pencil packs. And I am amazed at how organised you are. I didn't have any spare containers/boxes when I did my pencil packs, so I used a baking tray! I also packed my stash of leftover supplies. So some were "basic" and others were just for fun! ( my fun!). 🙃
Thank you, Fiona. A baking tray works 👍. Last year I used mugs and bowls from my kitchen as containers. The bins that I used this year are from my OCC stash set up, which has now outgrown the bins, L O L! They worked perfectly for filling my pencil packs. 🥰
Hi Pat! I got the stackable bins at Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. I’m not sure if they still carry them or not, but check the aisle where they display the storage containers.
These are great pencil packs! ✏️ I have a question...how long are the strings on your cross necklaces? ✝️ I have a bunch of wooden crosses and a spool of soft cord. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Hey! I am so inspired by your dedication and I cant wait till I find good deals to start stocking up for next year! How do you get the box filled with pencil packs to the PC? Do you ship it or deliver it?
Oh, thank you 🥰. I drop off any filler with my shoeboxes during collection week at my nearest collection location. I just make sure it’s in a big carton marked “filler”. They send it on to the PC. No shipping cost for filler. If I am volunteering at a PC, sometimes I just bring the filler with me. That gives me extra time to pack filler between collection week and the week that I work in the PC.

Glad it was helpful!
People who have volunteered at the processing centers report that a lot of boxes come through with NO school supplies. So they are definitely useful.

That is awesome! Thank you so much for packing filler! It is so needed at the PC.

@byrdfeed9071 Yes. I have used mugs, too. I can't count how many times I reached for my coffee and nearly drank the rubber bands!
@fionaedwards6311 😆🤣😂
Fantastic! Well planned and organized, and really great prices. ❤️💚❤️
Thanks, Val. 🥰
Great pencil pouches!

Thanks. The cords came pre-cut at 32 inches long. 🥰
