- Rick Rubin connected with Pharrell Williams over Zoom recently to talk through and listen to some of the biggest hits from Pharrell’s illustrious career. They chat about what Pharrell is currently working on (Rihanna!), the French powdered drink mix that helped P write “Get Lucky” with Daft Punk, and why Pharrell thinks he sounds like a sick billy goat on the hook for Snoop Dogg’s “Beautiful.”

These 2 geniuses have made more music than most people have even listened too. Legendary interview
Pharrell and Rick gushing about Beck is so wholesome
pharrell endlessly inspires me. endlessly
These are the recommendations I appreciate from RUclips
Man, honestly, Pharrell and Kanye are the most talented guys from hip hop....they can produce, sing and rap and they been doing this in a high level for 20 YEARS
They really CHANGED the sound of hip hop and music in general, making hits for every artist from every fucking genre...35 grammys together (Kanye 21 and P 14) true GOATS
And Timbaland
There is talent, there is gifted, and then in a class of its own, there is Pharrell.
I love ThunderCats "Them Changes".It blew me away too!
Wow he loves Don’t Disturb This Groove. My hero.
“I’m not any of those super legendary people” yeah okay 💀 much love to you brother
Yeaah ahaha when he said that, i was like wtf are u sayin' P? i mean you are hands down a super legend in your field
Lol right. Like just saying the name Pharrell doesn’t instantly remind people of great music
Pharrell always inspires me to trust my vision 💫
I loved this so much 🙏

GREAT INTERVIEW WITH PHARRELL & RICK BOTH LIVING LEGENDS WITH REAL LIFE & ARTIST MUSIC HISTORY-LANCE ROMANCE 😊
This is an amazing interview such great questions
Love this interview
Underrated interview, studied it multiple times
In 2019, Pharrell was highlighted at the Essence Festival. It was LIT! He came onstage as they played his hits. There were too many to count and all were bangers.
This is awesome
how could anyone dislike this video?
This was amazing to listen to … His work at the time of N.E.R.D. is incredibly underrated but someone really needs to play P “My Drive Thru “….his work with Santa Gold was very good ..I enjoyed it more than most of his other collaborations ..I wish he could’ve remembered it … as much as it’s a worry the “album” as a format is coming back it just needs a leveled up medium..
I feel the exact way about Let’s Get Blown but I love Beautiful
so good.
thankkk yyooouuuu skateboard P
Yes!
Pure love of the game
Pharell, you are for sure a legend lol
A lot of good stuff came this week with P in it
Great interview
💥🔥💥🔥💥!!
Thank for this. How do i know which song they are talking about ?
Pharrell has the best analogies! Lol, every time
I MEAN I NEVER LOSE NEVER CHOOSE TO!
thanks dank je #Mooi
I know for rights issues they didn't play the songs, so I stopped and sought out each song and listened to it then came back. It was great because I felt like I was right there with the two of them in a way that just having them played in the video didn't.
RTJ (Featuring Pharrell) - JU$T ?

@@eduardosolis2424 right.... I feel the same
There’s something cold and very limited about Americans really inherent to a culture that’s so young and closed on itself. Those limitations allows space for insane focus in professional achievements but little room for real human complexity, intelligence and depth.
Pharrell like few other really great cultural figures from the US like Madonna are aware of that void and gravitate towards European and other cultures as they get older consequently, making them stand out from other American artists.

Pharrell is from the last generation of music before everything got...messed up, the whole thing, wtf happened to everything?
he godfathered it. the blame is not off him completely. You will probably never meet a bigger N.E.R.D. fan but the fact is he did hits with everyone. Meaning he was a big part of all the music you here today. The Clipse were the 1st true drug rappers. Nothing but coke bars lmao. And Pharrell ushered that sound in. Mix that with Kid Cudi and you have...tadaa...todays sound.
Music is fine. It’s you who stayed the same and didn’t change or accept. That’s ok but don’t blame music. Music is fine.
@@JayOneAlumni different on the rap game other music genres progressed.
All of it changed and progressed. You didn’t. This not hate. Some people don’t like change. Some do. Some blame and some are honest with them selfs.
I do not like rock or country currently. But that’s me not liking it. Not the music being shit. That’s on me not the music. This is speaking from a producer, song writer, missing and recording engineer. I used to be like you. Since I worked on my frame of mind I’m a lot happier and understanding of things. God bless.
What happened you ask...?
Kanye happened. We’re still digging through the rubble
