Misty, as a retired kindergarten teacher, let me say…”You are a wonderful teacher! You’re very thorough, systematic, and plain spoken.”
Very good job!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much !
The yoke is on us! We were just talking about how to preserve the eggs we get from the local farmer. Thank you!!!
I was just wanting this video. Thank you!
I get store bought eggs when on sale. I rub each one with mineral oil and I've used cooking oil which both have worked. Just rub eggs with oil, place back in carton & return to refrigerator and they keep up to a year. I've done this for years & never a bad egg.
I am thankful for a neighbor whose family love Dill Pickles and save me the jars. I am blessed over here in South Louisiana. Because the heat has been so terrible I stayed in most of the day and worked at removing the Broccoli seeds from their pods. I always let the last sprigs of the Broccoli go to seed and the Bees love the bright yellow flowers. Today I stopped at two 5 gallon buckets and Have one more to go. So far, I have almost 1 cups of Broccoli seeds. Lol, I only garden in the back yard. Could you use some seeds dear?
lol! Wow!!!!
I waterglassed eggs for the first time last Sept. I still have 2 dozen I have not used yet. We found that using 2 gal buckets will hold 5 dozen eggs each. Then they are not too heavy. Have to have air tight lids. They are fine for scrambling and truly make the best angel food cake. We did not like them boiled. The whites tend to be somewhat watery compared to fresh egg. I have not had any odors or anything. We picked the cleanest fresh from the nest eggs and added a dozen at the time.
We don't eat boiled eggs unless they are chopped and added to potato salad or salad etc :)
Absolutely amazing! I can never thank you and your family enough for all that you teach us. God bless your family and all of the good people in this country.
Thank you for sponsoring the basketball program this summer.
It was our pleasure!
Where we’re you when I had chickens??? Maybe, when I’m feeling better, I’ll get more chickens.
Smaller container is so better! I used a huge container and lost the 6 doz.! Listen to Misty!
So sorry!!
I’ve been freeze drying eggs but I would love to be able to have access to boiled eggs! Thanks for the video God bless
Would love to do this. The city where I live will not allow chickens. I have tried many times to get them to change their minds to be told no. I keep trying and doing all I can to prepare. God's blessing to you and yours
I have water glassed eggs on hand in my pantry. When I use then, they are runny but as you said, they are just great. I'm glad that you are teaching others how to do this.
👏
Thank you!! This is the first year I have preserved eggs by water glassing. I only have 1 gallon. I will now switch to smaller jars. You gave us so many great tips and I really appreciate all you taught in this video. 🥰
I was just wondering on how to do this, talk about perfect timing. God bless and thank you! Oops, you forgot to rinse before cracking open😂!
I did but I wasn't eating it :)
I sacrificed an egg for y'all !
I was letting you know i paid very close attention to your instructions 😁! Again thank you so much, now I can go find a farmer and do this!!!
Thanku, just need to translate to UK measurements x greetings from across the pond
Thank you! I am always giving away eggs.
I'm surprised you didn't mix the lime in the water before you poured it onto the eggs.
❤ talk to much on jars, thought you say,it's about eggs.bummer.have a bless day.jesus love you..
Your wife is so cute and a sweetie!
Enjoyed this video immensely. I buy farmers eggs. I will have to see if they wash them.
Thank you so much for this video. First saw/heard about water glassing when the Walkers visited your place. Just water glassed my first jar this week. Thank you so much.
👏
More interested in how to preserve my store bought eggs.
Dehydrated or freeze dry
@@TheMacsLife0 every way if possible as I'm not able to get farm fresh eggs anywhere near me. Thank you 🤗
The first ones I cracked and I saw how they looked different I still ate them and was shocked that they taste the same.
I use 2 gallon buckets food grade works good for me. Whatever works for you. I just can’t find glass jar at a reasonable price…
Try to ask famiky or friends taht buy pickles to keep their jars - or anyone uiu know that works in a ballpark concession stand for jars
Watching again. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
THANK YOU MISTY!!! I want to water glass eggs once I get out of our motorhome and into a real kitchen! I get eggs from a neighbor and will ask her to not clean the eggs. 👍🐓
Always learn something from you and Colby ❤
Judy in NE TX.
Great details & family
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
How interesting!! Thank you. God Bless you and your family!
I tried to water glass last year. An my water smells funky. So i think i put too many eggs in one jar. It was a 2 qt jar. Going to try again with a smaller jar. Thanks for answering a lot of my questions.❤
You are so smart and knowledgeable! I am old enough to be your Mom but I want to be more like you! Love your channel!
Thank you , I need to start doing this 😇🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
HELP! I waterglassed a bucket of eggs recently and I poured some vegetable oil to cover the eggs. I went to add eggs and some of the eggs had a barnacle on the shells! I tossed them. No broken eggs in bucket, no odor. They just had those spots on them. Thank you!!!!
Vegetable oil!?!? Ain't heard that one yet
That's probably why they are bad
For almost 60 years I did gardening and preserved food for my family. Raised chickens and was not aware of this fantastic egg preservation. Thank you !
Thank you for this !! I so enjoy your video
Thanks for watching
I’m caught up!
I binged watched all day and watch all the videos.
I don’t know how we didn’t know you had this channel since we watch your other channel all the time.
Thanks for all you and Colby and your kids do, you all are super sweet and have so much great information to share with all of us.
Have a super sweet day, lisa
❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much
It is just that easy! It makes it so easy to save more eggs.
We have "limed" eggs for many years. It's a great way to preserve them. Proud to be subscriber of your channel.
Great job y'all !!!!!
Thank you for sharing all this knowledge …. I have truly learned a lot from your channels … Thank God for blessing wonderful people who share their knowledge n helping us grow more independent …. ❤🙏
Thank you. Your presentation was great. The idea of eggs stored in jars was kinda intimidating to me. You calmed my fears.
❤️
I really appreciate your videos. You’re always so thorough and sweet.
Thank you 🙏🙏❤️🙏
Great lesson, ty
So by doing this I am basically preserving the eggs until I'm ready to use them. Cooking them for scrambling, frying or boiling. I hope I understood you correctly!! I don't have any chickens yet so I will have to get them from someone else. I've been using store bought eggs, mixing a big batch to make scrambled eggs, then pouring them into ice trays. When frozen pop them out and put into vac sealed bags. They taste ok but not the best. I can't find ice trays that are big enough to freeze whole individual eggs so I've been looking for a way to have whole eggs. Thanks so much for this preservation trick!! You solved my problem!! Love your videos and Colby's❤❤ You two are great!!!! Love your family!!❤🙏
I like your channel
So awesome was wondering about this. Thanks and God bless.
If you have a freeze dryer you can save eggs that way! It works fantastic and I keep mine in I/2 gallon jars. You can powdered the eggs after freeze drying them!
I was so glad to find out about water glassing eggs. I followed the directions exactly!! A year later I opened the bucket up and a horrible smell came out! They were my fresh eggs and several were bad. I wish my neighbors wanted eggs I give them to anyone!! It is just my husband and I and 10 Hens and 5 dogs. It is a good thing that I bake a lot and my dogs love eggs!! My eggs don't go to waste because I bake cornbread with 10 eggs and my chickens love that as their treat!!
I've had that happen too-- some of them might have cracked on teh jar for various reasons -- but the rest are probably still ok
I washed them off and out in the fridge and cracked one at a time !! Almost all were fine !
Hi Misty and Colby. I've been preserving mine this way. For a few months. Thanks for the video. Love and God bless ❤
I guess I better be careful.
I buy unwashed farm eggs, brush clean if needed and do the lime water glass method in a 5 gallon food grade bucket!!!!
Glass jars were too difficult for me
So I've seen the weight of the eggs crush the bottom eggs which is why I recommend using smaller containers! Hope it works out for you!
Wow !!! 👌 ❤
Ive been waterglassing eggs for a year. Youre video is great.
Thank u and great work!!!
Wow
Thank you 😊
Thank you, learns so much from you and Colby! My 2 favorite channels!

Thats pretty cool
Great video, answered all my questions clearly and the instructions were crystal clear! Thank you! Don't have the chickens yet.... something we're working towards, but I can start looking for and saving jars now. Thanks again. I enjoy and am subscribed to both RUclips channels from your family.
I just water glasses my first jar of eggs last week. I did a one gallon size jar. I would love to find pickle jars that size. It would be more convenient and lighter. Thank you for teaching us new ways of storing eggs. I do want to dehydrate some also. I just got my freeze dryer and have not hooked it up yet. Life is busy.
AWESOME!!! You're gonna love it!!!
Wonderful class!
Thank you so much!

Great stuff thanks!
Looking forward trying this!
I learned to glass eggs last year. It absolutely saved my pocketbook in the winter. I asked for jars at church, bring me your big jars I’ll wash them. I’ve already put up my glass eggs for this winter. So glad I took the time to learn this

Thanks for this video! I’ve had chickens for two years and after having to buy eggs for the holidays last year I decided to look into ways to preserve our eggs. So far I have two jars on the shelf. After watching your video today I’m going to see if I can find some jars and get to saving more of our eggs 🥚🥚🥚
Great job!!!

Thank you for this video. This is my first year with Chickens. I will be using this info when they start laying. I love both of your channels.
Where do you get the lime is there different types of lime could you tell us more about it please.
I get mine from azure
I have a link in our video in the description to azure
Any type of pickling lime - can usually be found at local hardware stores as well
Hey. i am subscribed
Water glassing is the best! Bloom on eggs only.. I use no more than gallon jars… Pickled hard boiled are an amazing way to preserve eggs in a different way, shelf stable and mighty tasty!
Good evening everyone 🤗
Love it
