Amazing how he drove this car here!!! and what he done for skoda The fabia was notoriously twitchy at the back end with it having such a short wheelbase and a constantly changing set up by chief chassis engineer armin Schwartz, Colin only joined skoda on the condition that he set the car up himself and right away the results spoke for themselves, he took them to new heights and was on for a 3d maybe 2nd place podium in Australia if it wasn't for a botched up last minute clutch change that didn't even need to be done!!! Politics even in rallying??? Definitely! Schwartz could have been out of a job if Colin made it to the end, watch the footage of the mechanics killing time not even trying during the (routine clutch change) RIP cm
I agree with all. Colin was god , after all two competition (and testing) sufficed on good result him... car wasnt total bad probably. Skoda motorsport needed only more money and excellent driver like Colin on setup and development this car (for VW no or wasnt problem)... but team didnt have neither most of the time in his "wrc career". Absolute true, Schwarz hasnt had drive a wrc car since 2003 season... Rally Australia 2005 was probably one of the worse rally event for him and his fans. And for czech rally fans (that me) it was the biggest disappointment ever. Yes change of clutch was fail, nonsense and btw decision of german leadership in this team (but its conspiracy maybe). Why wasnt done "routine clutch change" is incomprehensible for me forever, but its rally and life... This onboard is amazing, Colin is "pushing" and fabia has great sound, only paddle shifting doesnt work :). sorry for my english and btw škoda=shkoda in english
+jagthanz 👍🏼 thanks happy someone else can see what I see! But apart from that, this was a very underrated little car, sounds amazing and had all the best parts in rally at the time, it was actually like a little version of the faze 2 mark 1 focus ( the good one they designed after Collin left) with its similar Carbon wings and Kevlar bumpers, cage, engine layout, gearbox, reiger shocks, Webber marellie management, tr30r turbo on inconel manifold with EGR antilag, both very similar in design and parts, not sure why they didn't make full use of the power allowed tho??? The car was quoted as having just under 300 bhp when most other teams were getting between 310 and 330 even with the 34 ml restrictor
Is it possible to miss a human as much as rally fans miss Colin McRae? A true legend... as is the guy reading his notes!
His name is Nicky Grist.. collecting cars podcast : Nicky Grist 3 hours talking about himself and Colin. Highly recommend it
@@MrTitaniumBG Yea I know who he is, he is a legend as well. Absolutely love the guy. His interviews about Colin are fantastic.
dont understand how these videos dont get millions of views. but shitty burnouts with ken block do...this is real driving.
your watching a master at work the best rally driver of all time R.I.P Colin
Always awesome watching the man do what he did best.👍👍
R.I.P. Colin...
The godfather of rallyedriving...
So sad to think that this was one of his last WRC appearences before the day he passed, Rest in Peace Colin, forever a life long hero and idol to me!
Watch Australia 2005 wrc for the rally and events that unfolded, you can also see in car footage of Collin in the fabia as well
Colin & fabia WRC...amazing!!!!!
Love watching Colin how he sets the car up to dance through the apex with opposite lock. Great examples at 3:40 and 4:20. A true magician :)
Great onboard ...just subbed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Avesome 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👀💪🤟🤘✌️🌠
He won the mule trial.. ✌️🚀
00:09 - 00:11 What is that buzz sound thingy of the Skoda Fabia and why it is sounds like that?🤨
Looks like he stalled the car on the start line. Got it started just in time!
the amount of skill u need to drive like this is just fcking ridiculous...
his paddle shift didn't work
He retired at next service with clutch issues after skoda tried to change a gearbox, hence not using the paddle shift
That was Australia. Finished in 7th in this rally.
The paddle shift on his Skoda didn’t work as a result look he’s using it manually
Hydraulic problem if I'm not wrong
Was it really hydraulic problems that has caused the paddle shift to not work properly
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 I heard in the Highlights of Rally GB on Oficial WRC RUclips channel.
Yeah
Faster.... just go ahead and give me the whole stage....
I can't stand the noise of that car 💩💩
In the " very long" sixthful 170 kmh.. 👀Crazy 🤟🙌🙌🙌✌️⚡⚡⚡⛅🌤️👌👍🌈
