      I was hoping for a tank spec as well since dps are a dime a dozen. It'll be interesting how this adds up besides extra wait time between groups.

      There are more than enough types of tanks in the game. At least this is something new.

    I'm so so so so so excited for this! I play true support classes in every game that I can. I even played a bunch of Lost Ark because that game has two classes, bard and paladin, that are true support classes. I never though it would come to WoW. I'm so excited!!

    Im mostly excited to see more black aspect magic. Until now this aspect of the class was really underused and it is cool to see it come to life, as well as more time magic which is just the coolest thing I have seen in wow for a long time.

    This is really cool, but I'm afraid we will face a situation where, for example, M+ groups will consist of a Tank, Healer, 2 random DPS, and this new Evoker (mandatory). DPS classes are struggling to find a group, and this could get worse. Anyway, just my thought.

      Honestly kinda expecting it to not be great in m+ and for people to favor playing devestation while augmentation will be a lot more potent in raid. This new spec isn't gonna do as much damage as a normal dps spec which means that in an m+ setting, giving up a bunch of damage just to buff 2 dps, a tank and a healer, isn't gonna be nearly as good as in raid where you can buff 4 dps.
      Personally think that if they are gonna balance mostly around raid which is fairly common, for it to be in a good spot balance wise in raid where it isn't mandatory to have 3 of them just to buff 12 dps or 11 dps and a tank (depending on how many healers are required), it would likely end up just not being better than a regular dps in a dungeon, cause if they made it better than a regular dps in a key it will be incredibly broken in raid.
      I am curious to see how people react to the spec as a concept, I don't currently play a lot of dps but if I were I wouldn't exactly be excited about playing a spec just to let other people do damage instead of actually pumping myself but different people might like different things so who knows.

      @@WorgenDeath thats actually hard to say, losing 20%dps but increasing ur party dps by 15% each would be a net DPS gain. U might be wrong here

      This was my exact first thought as well. If the tuning is off and they end up too strong the M+ season they release with will be miserable for any pugging DPS.

    Maining Evoker and i think this will be a tuning nightmare. How can you make something viable for both solo, m+ and raids. How much damage will they do by themselves and how much will they buff? How will we track how much they contribute with? I'm pretty sure the spec will be either so meh that it doesnt matter, or so good that it becomes nearly mandatory. What if you play with 3 decent players and one useless scrub, will that then punish the group even more? And will a group of extraordinary players then become almost godlike? How can it work for all group compositions and classes.
    I'm intrigued by the idea, but i think it will be a nightmare.

      "How can you make something viable for both solo, m+ and raids."
      It remains to be seen how soloable this is, but it looks like you're only ever buffing four other people. Therefore, you will bring the same level of buff to both raids and mythic+. That's not the be-all end-all of tuning and balancing, but it gets you quite a bit of the way.

    • @melanp4698
      @melanp4698 Год назад

      @@ianwestc But lets say the baseline is 100% damage. And you do 75% damage. So if you're in an amazing group of players that do 600% damage overall, then you buff it to 700%. Then you're boosting some friends and you onlt do 250% dmg overall, so you only buff that to 300%. Meaning the better players gets exponentially better and the worse gets little bonus.
      And in raids, it will either be so good that it becomes mandatory or so meh that no one cares. Either way, the very best players will be buffed just like with PI and get all the logs, and everyone else will never notice an augmenter in the raid.

    • @ianwestc
      @ianwestc Год назад

      @@melanp4698 That's only if we think the bonus is going to be a flat bonus rather than a percentage. I.e the better the augmenter, the higher of percentage that they're going to buff people with. Also higher the dpser, the larger the effect will be for each tier.
      But my overall point was that mythic plus and raids would both be equally balanced or equally unbalanced because in both cases the augmenter is augmenting the same number of people

    • @melanp4698
      @melanp4698 Год назад

      @@ianwestc I've checked the talents, and yes it scales with gear, but it also scales with the allies. For example it replicates 20% of all allies damage during 10 seconds as aoe. Big difference if your buddies pump 750K combined or 200K combined.
      And i dont agree on the last part. In m+ it buffs 4 players, which is 80% of the party and it raid it buffs 4 players which is 20% of the party. The difference is pretty huge.
      But i certainly hope they have managed to find a way to balance it, since it will be a fun new spec to play, but i remain somewhat skeptical.
