That sort of a day being kept busy with machinery maintenance would be my idea of a great way to spend the day. Great to see everything being so well minded.
Nice video Gerry. I really admire the pride you take in your Farm and machinery. As they say its more enjoyable to take care of things when there working than to have to fix them when there broken. Nobody actually said i just made it up but i think you prove the point.
Good video Gerry 👍 hope all goes well for u 🤔 am sure u must be a bit concerned about gettin some rain after the silage make sure the grass gets a bit of a kick start for 2nd cut 👍👍
Well gerry why don't you use the sharpening stone on the back of the drum ? You would get so much longer out of your blades and would be a lot easier to run the harvester because the blades would be sharpened properly
Great stuff Gerry.Besta luck at the silage. Worked with a neighbour who had a JF 1350.Excellent machine, highly underrated.Personally feel there's still a place for the trailed machine in contracting.
Christ lad that just shows what maintenance and care of a machine gets ya!! A season starter bill of what 100 euro max incl grease ? Fair play bud she is looking spank by ye and bar un torqueing and re torqueing the knife sure ye had no problems at all !! Happy buzzing round and round and up and down Ger!!! Stay safe and best regards as always !!
Awesome video weather's good. I just got your mowing Vid gonna watch now! Top video and can u take the sides off that trailor to make it a conventional crop trailor?
Do you have a working sharpening stone on the back of your jf, they be behind the spout. Im guessing you dont cause you used a grinder but if it is working could you show it going?
Yes there’s a sharpening stone in it... I just don’t bother using it. It had a new stone in it when we got it but I just pop the shoot down. Have to check the blades anyhow
gerry6420 Interesting. We were always told to use the sharpening stone to grind down the blades so they are all the same level/distance from the cutting bar. Apparently this give the JF a better blow making it better at side filling. I think the grinder will be just as good.
@@mikeysky8917 yeah thats why we are fixing/ getting one for ours cause the grinder didn't seem to be doing the job so hopefully this year they'll be all equal an cut the best🤞
Ive never seen men to look after their machinery as good as you boys look after yours. She looks spotless. Great to see 👍🏻👍🏻
The Reds it’s time consuming but worth it. The cost of kit you need to mind it 😊👍
Never change the j.f Gerry , it is the No1 silage harvester of all time in my opinion 👌👌
Now that is Irish! Full sun outside but I'll go inside and use a torch!

Kevin Canniffe it is a rewarding day when u get it all sorted... tiring also 😂
Always had a soft spot for the JF 900, great man to look after machinery Gerry and a natural behind the camera 👌👌
Nice job Gerry, finally can put a voice with a face. Nice. Looking forward to seeing the silage. 👍👍👍👍👍😉
One thing that always remember when was a child was the buzz from the jf to this day nothing sounds like it

Good to see machinery being looked after.
DingleZilla it’s worth the effort 😊👍
Rotor turning mixed with a stubborn bolt, frustrating few mins work I'd say but all good! Get plenty sleep! It's like Christmas eve!! 😁
Machinery is a credit to ye, going mowing hay with our ford 7810 and claas disco 250 now, fierce warm these days
Top man for keeping machines in order Gerry love the videos

Why don’t you use the system jf have for edging the knifes Gerry. Find it much better myself than the grinder. Keep up the good work
7710 johndeere I probably should. Just never have. It’s all there. I must try it.... if it all goes to shit I’m blaming you 😉😂
gerry6420 😂😂😂 there a great job. Don’t forget the change the shaft driving the main rotor. U probably no the lad I’m on about.
That’s a handy light you have where did you get it ?
Love your videos just wondering does your jf wear a point on back of pickup tines
Tell me on your next episode OK Gerry
Gerry do you mind if I ask would you get a silage contractor to bring the sliage for you
Nicholas Minnock well we like to do it our selves. We have the kit too. It would be easier but we like the torture 😂
Nicholas Minnock with the price of contractors these days , when he has the equipment he might aswell do it himself
u mind ur machines well gerry a neighbour off mine had a trailed harvester with a donkey engine on it .he made it himself
You may buy a Milwaukee or dewalt impact gun 😉
Kristan McDonald have a Milwaukee. It’s in the video. Would fit in thought so back to the Rachet
gerry6420 very powerful gun keep up the good content videos getting better everyday 👍

Mikey Sky you could be right. It’s always worked ok with the grinder. We’re not taking a whole pile off. Mostly cleaning the rust off.
What’s the difference between a 6420 and the 6420 S ?
One of main difference is the S has more hp.
why do i think viking when i see the name JF
🥰🥰
