I think we need to take a minute to appreciate the fact that Ryan - who is genuinely scared of having paranormal things happen to him, and is terrified of being attacked by demons - was the one that opened the loosely barricaded closet with hand-written warning signs in a haunted bar that supposedly has a portal to hell in the basement. And that the skeptical Shane wanted nothing to do with it until Ryan had revealed that it was just a closet.
The issue isn't that you could be attacked by a demon, it's that it could be a broken elevator or something.
Shane doesn’t believe in ghosts or demons, but he does believe in *“Danger! Do not open!”* signs.
Because Peter Frampton and Springsteen 8 tracks or cassettes were in there. Just play them backwards and you’ll hear the devil for sure ;)
@@chrisschoenthaler5184 Because there might be another reason that it was written danger. It could have been a broken elevator door like @TheLithp has said. Shane was being practical, generally ‘Danger’ signs indicate actual danger, not demons or ghosts.
He considered the sign might be put up to warn people of an ACTUAL physical danger. Something one might run into investigating an old building like a hole in the floor, faulty wiring, etc. He was thinking logically.
What Ryan did usually gets people k*lled in horror movies with people yelling at the screen.
I totally sympathize with Ryan for needing the mental peace of mind that things like the rope give him, but it's really sweet that Shane, who doesn't believe in any of this, goes along with the safety measures for Ryan's sake.

I’m convinced Ryan would’ve been attacked/possessed/haunted by now if it weren’t for Shane. It’s my personal theory that Shane is a demon sent to keep an eye on Ryan but got attached, and now protects him by scaring off all the ghosts and other demons (and occasionally purposefully scaring the poor guy).

I wouldn't worry about ghosts behind a door labeled danger- even hypothetically, why would a door without so much as a lock impede a ghost or demon? I'd be afraid there would be loose electrical wires in there or something of a more man-made danger. Assuming Shane wasn't being sarcastic, that's the kind of danger a rational skeptic's mind jumps to.

shane and ryan's combi is so perfect esp for supernatural seasons. i could watch in two different perception, one that looks at it rationally and one superstitiously. it's really a genius (or a fate) to have them both tgt here (and eventually made biz tgt with steven). also their combi makes it a little less scary for scaredy cats watching this at night.
