I'm an iphone user but I really like Samsung's thinnier bezels and USB-C. Besides that, the boxy/quality feel of the iphone and the resale value are unbeatables for me.
Hi Claudio, the more I dive into the comparison of these two, the more difficult it gets, but yes, I agree with you that at the end of the day, in this case, the preference goes to the Iphone
@@yahyahassen9807 if you think resale value had "shot up a lot", come here to Chile and purchase used Samsungs S21, they lost tremendous value no more than 9 months after the launch event. Come and re sell them where you live, since they are even cheaper than an iphone 12 pro. You could make tremendous money.
Been an android user since, forever. Switched to an iphone 13 almost 2 wks ago & having cognitive dissonance 😂 Dont really like the platform & seemingly limited features on the iphone like notifications light. Been missing time sensitive messages. I WILL be switching to the S22 TOMORROW! Thanks for the video & you commenters making it easy to go back before my 2 wk exchange is up
Me too bought iPhone 13 pro max two days and I just found out it’s so complex to use modded apps and move files from laptop to the phone but I love the design.
your issue is with the difference between ios and android, not the iPhone 13 and S22. this video shouldn't play a role in you switching back to the S22.
Same situation 1 month.... Thinking to switch back to the liberty and customisation... I can't even put a customized notification sound for WhatsApp (like a music) and the gallery organization really sucks 😂😂😂
Thank you for being transparent in your review and stating what is better for you and why you prefer it. Too many RUclipsrs out there will recommend one phone to their audience but choose the other for themselves to avoid mass criticism for choosing their preferred phone. Kudos!
I feel like Samsung are never gonna beat apple on battery life at this point , so instead should be working on charging speed , if you can charge your phone in 10 mins who cares about battery life
If your batt is low in the evening just charge for 10 min , you will get enough charge for the rest of the day , superfast charging in Samsung is cool.
@@DionMedia @DionMedia samsung brings most of their flagship features to their entry level models and you expect expect compact phone to have a good battery life? Apple does the opposite and that's why their entry level has good battery You cant expect a phone with high refresh rate and very good display to have a good battery life man
Great job on the video... I've got an iPhone 13 and I never worry about the battery life. It's great! I never thought I'd say that about it iPhone but you don't have to worry about it. You get easily through a day through a night when you go to put it on the charger. It's it's got 25% and it's like 11:00 and you left the house at 6:00 in the morning. I mean the phone's pretty much amazing for the size.
Same here, I have a 12 Mini 256gb and S22 256gb on TMO. They are born great phones, but for me, at the end of the day, Android always wins out. Now that the bike quality, style and user experience gap is completely closed, the Samsung is a great choice for many. I noticed that their bloatware is much reduced from my previous Samsung days. Either way, there is no bad choice here.
@@telcobilly So how is your S22? I will be getting it soon, either regular S22 or S22+, i love how "small" regular s22 is but damn S22+ with that battery is something else. Does it run hot or anything really? I don't care about Exynos, yeah maybe not the best in gaming department because developers have to optimize they're games for the chip, but oh well, if i ever plan to play pubg ever again, for example i play on smooth/extreme which is basically 60fps constantly.
Both are great...but the beauty for me is in the details. Given I use numbers a lot, I prefer Android keyboards that have the numbers above the letters on the keyboard; small gripe but hate having to toggle between letters and numbers on the iPhone keyboards..
So happy to have the opportunity to tried both back last months. The handfeel and looks of S22 is much better for me. Samsung nowdays feels as solid, even slightly better than Apple razor sharp edges & much thicker bezel. And I'm already a Samsung user, so i bought the S22 last week since my water damaged S10 finally give up lol. In terms of battery, i got like 6-10 SOT with the regular S22. And i carry a fast charging battery bank everywhere, so definitely fine with it.
i love the look and feel of the S22plus. the iphones are too boxy and heavy, these days the eco systems are the same, Samsung offers everything Apple does plus they partner with Microsoft and Google and i need their features more over anything IOS currrenly has such as split screen, app pop out, superior notifcations, customisable everything, secure folder, side loading of apps, always on display, dual install of apps, active widgets, reverse power charge, USB C , google assistant, can connect more devices to the usb port, Samsung DEX is AWESOME, and no stupid notch, pair all that with the galaxy watch 4 and samsung Buds which are absoultely flawless, and the fact its alot cheaper, i just cant justify going back to Iphone.
Hi Joey, thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Glad you found the phone that suits you. The ecosystem friends and family use are often a determining factor. I belong mainly to the Apple eco system, but fully realize that the IOS has some great points:)
I liked Samsung galaxy s22….it’s 120Hz refresh rate appeals a lot to me.. iPhone feels bit slower for me with that drop in refresh rate while scrolling down….Plus added features like wireless reverse charging (useful for buds/watch) and few other features made me to go towards the s22;I prefer better image quality of Samsung with better sharpness and telephoto lens which is amazing; battery is real downside to s22 Mostly everything is similar in both phones and it’s upto one’s personal choice
Being a long time budget phone user I wanted to upgrade to either a flagship samsung or to an iPhone. As i wasn't used to small sized phones S22 felt really small in my hands but then I came to know about S21 Fe launched earlier this year. Had the perfect size and battery for me. Camera doesn't hold back here as well. Very capable. I saved 10k (Indian Rupees) but there's no regrets.120hz screen is a treat to the eyes and as I love content streaming, the notch would really annoy me. To me feels provided by samsung is far superior.
It feels so weird to say that the iPhone is the option most people (unless you don't like ios) SHOULD get (just more stable and solid across the board) but the Samsung is what you WANT to get bc of its better aesthetics and 120hz screen (despite the battery deficiencies, running hot, at best on par camera system with slightly worse video) . The IPhone for a long time was always that phone you wanted but shouldn't really get bc the price was too high, but here, with the s22 coming at pretty much the same price, the roles flip.
iPhone 13 pro and pro max both have 120 hz, and in a better and more battery effecient way than samsung. My last iPhone was iPhone 4, and last ios device was an iPad. Since then, i've had a samsung note 3 and 3 different galaxy phones, my now last is samsung s20 5g. After a big break (10+ years), i am finally going back to iPhone with a 13 pro max.
@@devilkazumi578 But terrible battery life, and a phone made of plastic that heats up faster than anything. Terrible effeciency and optomisation, and terrible flow. Only thing i've liked with androids is it's devoloper friendliness, so i can easily program and debug apps. But on the other hand, IOS now is also becoming friendlier and catching up to Samsung. With soon no difference between Samsung and iPhone functionality wise, the iPhone will take over as it's extremely more effecient and optomised.
I've been on Samsungs for years but I have an Apple Watch and a Mac anyway, so several months ago I decided to give iPhone a go and I bought iPhone 13 Pro. But now, I've just come back to Samsung (S22 Plus) and I'm so happy I have! In short, what I couldn't stand with my iPhone was: (A) the lack of a clear notifications panel that would light up on the always on display (so I never knew when anyone texted me or called me in my absence as my iPhone screen was just black at all times; but even when unlocked, it's still tricky to see the notifications you missed, as they do NOT show in the top bar (unlike Samsung) because there is that notch taking up all the space on top - and so you have to swipe the top bar down every now and then just to check if there are notifications there, brrrrr); (B) the lack of a go back button or swipe (say, you're inside an app but there's sometimes no way to go one step back and you need to start from the main view again and again, or sometimes there is, but it's in different places each time depending on the app, so returning to the previous window is not quick, you need to locate the return button first); (C) how you can't use you iPhone simply as a storage of files or photos, so it was tricky to even get the photos from my old Samsung onto my iPhone (you have to do it via iCloud somehow and that has limited free storage); (D) how there's no option to lock the screen simply by double tapping on it as you can with the Samsung (which is very convenient when your phone is on your desk), you have to always press the button on the side; (E) how the iPhone is so bumpy and has that notch, that it's not comfortable in your pocket, doesn't lie flat on the desk even when inside the case and doesn't offer good watching experience because of that notch; (F) how it doesn't even show you the battery percentage (wth is that, really?); (H) how when you turn off wifi, bluetooth or location, it turns back on automatically in several hours, apple doesn't even allow you to decide that (lol!); (I) how you can't unlock it just by looking at it (need to swipe too)... The list goes on really. So these are the minuses. Any upsides? Well, it integrates very well with any Apple devices you have, understandably. Also, the polished iOS UI looks quite pretty (I'd say prettier than Samsung, though that is also fine). And using Siri voice commands was pretty convenient to manage the phone when your hands are busy. But that was probably it for me. Otherwise it was an inconvenient brick that I couldn't use quickly on the go because of how not user friendly many things were (as per above). Samsung is flying in my hands in comparison. I'm looking at it now - it shows my notifications on the black screen, so I know who messaged me; I take it off the desk - immediately it's on just from my glance and ready to go! Complete with the return swipe so I can very quickly return one window back if I need to. Quick double tap - and it's off and back on the desk. All in a matter of moments.
My girlfriend is deciding between the two and I think the iPhone is better for her because she's not overly tech savvy. The user friendly approach of iOS just seems to fit someone in that category a lot better in my opinion. The S22 is better for enthusiasts, iPhones take the win for the average person.
I don't understand this user friendly argument anymore. Android is pretty simple now. My 60 year old mom uses an S9 and she understands what she is doing so.
@@anthonyreis3533 if you aren’t doing much maybe going on YT, social media, and a bit of texting iPhone is the way to go. More stable has great battery performance etc. It also feels like s22 flagship battery isn’t good as I thought.
@@Blank0976 That's just wrong. imo They are both the same basically. App crashes barely happen on Android. If you check several speed test Android is sometimes faster until heavy productivity task such as video export. Iphones have software support for YEARRRRRRS but that doesn't mean Androids stop working since people are still using 7 and 10 a lot. But battery performance and video on Iphone is unmatched so.
I've had both the Iphone and Galaxy. Usually you can get a better deal on the Galaxy. I just got a s22 for nothing. i know I could have had a Iphone 13 for the same deal. Bottom line is they are both great phones and depending on your needs you will choose one that suits you.
The only major downsides to the iPhone 13 are the 60hz display and thicker bezels. But otherwise I definitely prefer it over the S22, especially the battery life which is by far the most important thing to me.
The 120 hz display yes, but the bezels aren't that thick, it's really not a downside, especially that the phone is much older than the Samsung. But also when the iPhone x was released it had fhe thinnest bezels on a phone, but everyone complained about the notch, even if the smartphones then had huge top and bottom bezels. But for God's sake, is it just me who can't type well on a Samsung device because the screen is too sensitive, I have to do a whole exercise while typing
@@_shotsbyjay My mom has the S22 and whenever I use it it definitely feels much smoother than my iPhone. However it’s not something that’s worth sacrificing battery for and the iPhone is still surprisingly smooth for being 60hz.
I'm happy we finally reached this point in time when top Android and iOS devices are priced the same, so it's no longer argument of the past "iPhone is expensive so it's better". Personally I was using Android all my life, got iPhone 13 Pro to try out iOS but I missed customization so much I went back to S22 and Pixel.
Just about to take delivery of an S22 & I'm really looking forward to it. I know people will always say the iPhone is better, because "Apple", but I've never been in their eco-system so I don't need the integration. I guess we'll see how I go with Samsung. (my 1st ever)
I sold my 13 pro max to try out the pixel 6. The pixel was okay, but I didn't love it. A few friends said to try the s22. So I bought it a few days ago. This phone is so good, from build quality to os it feels great. I definitely see myself using it for 6 month+. I'm weird, I get bored pretty quickly of the same phone unless it blows me out of the water.
Wasn’t mentioned in the video but Face ID works with masks now (just in case you still use one) but the UltraSonic Fingerprint Scanner is just slightly faster.
I bought the iphone 13 pro last year and couldn't hate it more, it was so heavy that it was so uncomfortable to write or use it for a long period of time, the selfie camera made me look gray, and how is even possible that when you are dialing a phone you can edit the phone numer from left to right??? The notch was horrible and you cant set the time percentage because of the notch. Iphone doesnt come with reverse charge???,the camara was so exposed to damaged and the fingerfrints on the phone made it look all the time dirty, the screen gets scratches so easily. I sold my iphone and just bought an s22 lets see how it goes so far so good
Just put an batterywidget. And cameras on the 13s are great. And screen dont scratch more than any other phones. And fingerprints? Where? Its frosted glass it sont get fingerprints.. You sound like an android fanboy. Bit if you dont like it then its not for you. Some like it some dont
Hi Juanita, thanks for sharing your experience. Reading it the S22 seems to be the better fit for you although some of the issues you encounter with the 13 will happen with the S22 as well. On one point I fully agree and that is the reverse charge. It would be cool if Apple could introduce that as well
good choice, i have the same issues , the pro max weights 240 grams which is crazy, the S22plus which is .1 inch smaller display comes in at 195 grams, and has a bigger battery. stainless steel is the issue. yes and photos on the S22 are better, though video is better on iphones.
My personal experience with photos from s22 were better in terms of color accuracy. The iPhone has too much HDR feel to those photos. The Xs was the last one, which had natural colors. But video on the iPhone is still unbeatable for me. Both great devices.
Unless you are a first time user, you really are not going to be comparing these phones. You have already made your choice to use either Android or iOS, and you are not going to change. Most people buying this level of phone have no real interest in display refresh rates. It would not be a reason to switch.
I understand the dilemma, after spending so much on the iPhone's it becomes hard to look at it's shortcomings....you want to justify your purchase in the end. You just fix it in your mind that it's the best phone in the world, flex it around and pat yourself. Deep inside you know you've fallen into a marketing trap of a status symbol. But you keep telling your mind it's the best decision you've made, necessary to increase your productivity and work-flow...along those lines. Deep inside you know Android is more productive as it's less restrictive, you know you could transfer files faster with a usb type-c cable but you want to look cool with Air-drop. You try to overlook the Samsung flagships unless Apple introduces those same features 2 years down the line. You fall for the Apple eco-system which you don't have and slowly spend a lac on macbook and 50k on an Apple watch.Deep inside you know that Pin is the most secure option & Finger-print sensor Is secure enough but you still compromise with the notch for the sake of it. Sometimes you wonder, why no reviewer ever mentioned that the back gesture isn't constant on iPhone's or how you can't send files using bluetooth in your iPhone or how there's so much bloatware like Apple Tv, Facetime, iMessage etc that we don't use in India at all (It's WhatsApp here). On a wild trip you quickly realize Apple Maps isn't as accurate & reliable in India so you pull out your dusty old Android with Google Maps and it shows you the way. Then later on you secretly install Google maps on your Iphone. You also then install the Google Chrome as it's simply better. You appreciate the Instagram's integration on iPhone's as the reviewers told you but then you see your dusty Android friend smartly using the superior stock camera instead of the poor built-in Instagram camera for better quality. He then tells you Samsung has already integrated Instagram & even Snapchat now btw. Also, while typing phone numbers in ios dialer, you find out that names don't pull-up like on Android. You find it silly at first but then realize that iPhone's don't use a T9 dialer and nor do they have call-recording like on your dusty old Android. As the days pass by, you realise the file system doesn't really exist, it's for namesake. Some of your downloads are visible only in Safari browser. You can't download movies or mp3 files directly. Meanwhile your Android friend is bundling Apk files, using zip, rar, hiding files with single touch on Android's File manager. You secretly slide him a pen-drive for those torrent files as torrent on iPhone's simply doesn't... Ok let's not talk about it. You immediately realize that how your Android used to talk nicely with sd-cards, cables, mouse and various Operating systems like Windows, Linux etc...not the case with ios. You see itunes app as a saviour but then you realize it's specifically designed by Apple to make a mockery out of you for doing things not permitted in strict Apple ecosystem You see your friends using Google Pay and Samsung Pay but you can't use your Apple pay as it simply doesn't work in India. You suddenly realize that all the apps you ever installed on Android were mostly free, either from playstore or from the browser...no workaround as such on Apple app store, pay and get the useful stuff. You're happy about getting 5-6 years of updates but you quickly realize you don't get next year iPhone's fancy features be it Cinematic mode or Night-mode. Meanwhile your typical Samsung gave Night mode or Single take on their budget devices with an update. Breaking the iphone 13's screen could cost you unncessarily 25k (cuz India), so you add 2-3 screen protectors and a hefty case with a shining visIble Apple logo (that's most important). You don't talk about fast charging or your selfie camera (meh). You quickly realize that animations on Ios are smooth but it too is plagued by bugs, you surely miss how Android managed notifications. You get bored looking at the ugly icons as your beloved wallpaper is almost invisible. To Edit your favorite photo, you can't share it from gallery to Snapseed/Lightroom, you've to open that editing app and search your pic within it. Gone are the days of using unlimited storage and Google Photos as you've just one Google Account (Ios bugs with multiple of those). It doesn't like to copy/paste beyond text or image and it surely won't talk nicely with your android watch. You can't move stuff, be it your Files or Icons...you just share files to other apps and save it there (let that sink in). You appreciate the performance of the beastly Bionic chip but you quickly realise there's not much you can do with it, multi-tasking like Android's...Nope! You absolutely love the powerful M1 chip but then you understand that Games and Editors etc still run better on Windows and the nerdy programmer's still stick to their Linux or Windows suite for better and deeper control. You wonder why no-one talks about the Apple issues on forum's like be it reddit or quora. You certainly miss how Android community used to together raise an issue, discuss, share stuff on Android Froum's like Xda, reddit etc After a while, you notice you've increased your productivity as you've started spending less time with your Iphone as it's more restrictive and nothing special has to happen now. You stop tinkering with your iPhone as it doesn't allows it...it stops all your attempts of making it your own unique phone with your taste. It prefers to be left out. It's like your sibling, you learn to live with it however terrible it may be. As the new iPhone's launch, the charm of your old iphone quickly dies out. All your friends upgrade to the new one and you feel left out & intrigued to buy the new one but now you know it's the cycle of trap. Out of nowhere, you see your old friend using dusty Galaxy Note 9+ but he's still paid respects in the Android community. He doesn't pretend, neither he's bothered about status symbol, in-fact he's quite reckless with his phone cuz he uses his phone as a tool to get his things done. You cheekily ask him, "still using the dusty Galaxy Note 9+ pal?". To which he replies, "I prefer to use a custom tailor-made suit instead of a generic-fit for all. Not only does it fits me perfectly, I also feel more comfortable wearing and using it." Cheers

@@ratul_karmakar He will be happy! It is a user’s choice to feel satisfied with their own purchase. I can say the same thing about Android. How can you keep up with those laggy phones? Excellent video Dion! Because I've been using Samsung for almost 10 years now, I didn't know iPhone had that "notch" on the selfie cam... being so adjusted to the minimalistic look on Samsung, the notch would be difficult difficult for someone like me to get used to lol! Very glad to hear iPhone's battery life has improved significantly these days! In 2013, I had to leave Blackberry and choose between iPhone and Samsung. I chose Samsung partially for the better battery life, as iPhone's did not compare at the time. Nowadays, for anyone who does not use their phone for work, and have fewer screen time hours, either iPhone or Samsung would work just fine! I do have a question for you- prior to this video series, had you ever extensively tried a Samsung phone? You certainly looked as though you enjoyed your experience doing this trial and comparison on your channel, and it appears as though there has been significant growth on your channel as well! Not certain if this was directly related to this series, as your general content is absolutely incredible! But if so, that is so cool! Thanks again for doing this trial and all these comparison videos! I'm certain they've opened up the eyes of anyone using the opposite product, as well as given them a chance to see both products and features side by side, and learn new things as well! Keep up the incredible work, and a huge congratulations on your impressive progress Dion! 😃
Hi Thrifty, as always, many thanks for your words of encouragement. I went full tech one year ago and things are picking up. I have huge plans for the near future, so let us see where this channel, with all its kind and supporting subscribers, will end. High up in the rankings I hope :). For your question, no, before this comparison I have not used extensively the Samsung. For me a steep learning curve, but I will definitely include more and more Samsung and other high end Android products in my productions. Best, Dion
I am fortunate enough to have a Note 20 Ultra (for me Samsung is the best android brand) and an iPhone 13 and if I had to chose, I would chose the iPhone. Yes, the Note is incredible and has a lot of better things than the iPhone, but iOS works sooooooooo AMAZINGLY. Resuming: Samsung - for the ones who love dozens of extra features and love to costumize. iPhone - for the ones who love simplicity and reliability.
The battery comparison isn't fair as the S22 is judged with 120hz display while the iPhone 13 with 60hz. Should you dial back the refresh rate on the s22 to 60hz you may find it has better battery life. But 6 hrs while running 120hz is very good for a phone that size.
Its not worth it then, if im lowring the display rate to 60 to have a better battery that barely lasts to iphone. It depends on personal preferences after all, i care about the battery more than screen refresh rate.
@@Joe-ka The point is it's not fair to judge battery life of two devices if one is running a higher refresh rate which affects battery life. Simple. It would be better if he made mention of that so that the consumers are aware that there is that particular difference .
There is no way the s22 would outlast the iphone 13 even on 60hz. I've had 13 pro and s22+ and the 13 pro does still have a slightly better battery (especially in standby). And the regular s22 has even less battery capacity. Also, 6hrs is probably mostly on wifi, my s22 plus (exynos) barely make it to 5 hours with heavy usage on lte and gps.
i like how he isn’t super biased. like a lot of people who do phone reviews there was one guy that i watched that did a comparison and what’s better. even though he said the iphone is better in ways. he still gave the point of that thing to the samsung. just because he likes samsung more
Thank you, yes I try to be objective, but in this polarized debate it is a bit difficult. I admit having more experience with IOS than Android, so it is possible that I might have missed points about the S22. In that sense the many feedbacks have been very useful
I've consistently had the opposite problem on my iPhones... apps freeze and glitch a lot more than they do on the Galaxies I've had. What you said about software/operating system seemed like old, generic Apple narrative. Not a reflection of reality.
It's true, I upgraded iPhones yearly until I switched with the s9 and s20. Went back with the 12 pro and I relized it wasn't as simple and glitch free as I remembered, it becomes a subconscious thing that's dismissed.
I’ve always kinda thought that iPhones were overrated!!! UNTIL I actually owned one and used it! It’s AMAZING! I will never switch to Android again! The reliability is just on point.
Every year I ponder leaving the Apple ecosystem and giving another phone a chance. It's a bit like trying to escape the sun, in that I inevitably keep coming back and getting another iPhone, purely on the basis they are always by far the most well-rounded devices. Some Android phones may excel in particular areas, but inevitably fall short in others. Sony has a great camera but is too fiddly to use everyday. Samsung has a great screen but terrible design. Google marginally falls short (but does very well) in almost all areas. Apple just gives you an 8/9 out of 10 in every area.
@@Jack_theSparrow omg yes, in performance it loses, it battery it loses, in build quality in loses, in sound it loses. Oh but it has better zoom, yes, even if the camera is overall better on the iPhone
@@iustin1658 it's only unfortunate that if you use both phones in your day, you will mostly almost always pick the ultra. I had to force use the iPhone by putting banking apps, navigation apps and my main number. However whenever I am consuming content, I almost always use the ultra, which is 90% of what I need the phones for. I use the apple watch and macbook for context.
@@ad5772 I don’t really understand what you want to say but if you want to consume content you can get either phone, it’s not like the iPhone doesn’t have a screen, they have the same screen, the Samsung being only more saturated, which isn’t the best thing in every case, both phones are good, I don’t get how some people just can’t use the iPhone because you can’t customize some random thing that nobody care about, now that apple has customization on the Lock Screen I’ve seen people say it’s useless because you don’t use your lock screen for 10 minutes, you don’t use you Home Screen also, so, what’s the point in customization. Anyway, for me the better phone would be an iPhone, reliable camera, great performance, much better speakers than on any Samsung device, and the part that I care about the most is the software, no phone can compete, apple did it the best and it’s still the best, animation are flawless, mostly, idk the android ui just gets on my nerves so many times, I look at every detail, even when I close an app and see it jitters or has weird animations it just drives me insane, idk why but it does. And I really don’t care about split screen, it’s a phone it’s useless, you get a 3 cm app, you might see your reflection in that, I’ve seen a girl say it’s so useful and much faster, she tried to make one app bigger and took her twice the time it would to swipe to another app, but sorry for this stupid book I just wrote here
I have the s22plus (which is basically s22 with buffed battery and size) and there is not a single glitch or app crashes in 5 months of usage.. I've updated the software to the latest and there is not a single crash or glitch. My gf has the iphone 13. Our phones perform similar and yes the camera is more natural on her iphone 13 but the images are more nicer in my s22 plus. But if you're gonna judge a phone only by the natural tone of the camera, then there is no competition with iphone. But if it's in terms of daily usage and the ecosystem, there is no such thing as a better phone. Both the phones are phenomenal and very different and the very best in both the worlds. So it's upto you.
Have both for nearly one year .. 13 and 21 plus .. now is with only 21 plus and old note 10 .. not really into ios, cant fit into so many restrictions and screen notch nightmare .. good thing is I got a lot more than expected when I sold 13 ..
Bought the S22 yesterday, from 7:30am this morning at 100% it's down to 25% at 4:24pm with minimal to average usage. Not sure if that's normal or not but I'd hope it lasts longer down the road.
@@pasmetha yeah that's what it says but I'm still going to go ask from where I bought it. 5:46pm and at 10% now. Screen off time is almost 7hrs compared to 3hrs on screen time.
Hi Peter, in general battery life of the S22 is not is best feature, but there are ways to improve it, including switching off the 120HZ. Usage pattern will also help, changing brightness etc.
he made watching the video sponser actually worth watching it for most youtuber videos i skip right by the sponser but for him i watched all of it without skipping it because it was interesting
Just ordered iphone 13, I use my phone for taking pictures and some other basic usage, so I need a good battery life.. the Samsung is great with cameras but lacks when it comes to taking pictures in social media apps like insta and tiktok.. from the reviews the iphone batteries this year is so good and the magsafe option gives a seamless wireless charging with magsafe battery packs on the go as well so my choice was clear.
Honestly, the last best Samsung phone imo was the s10. I don't feel like spending $800 on a phone that isn't even marginally better than my s10...but I need a new phone because after 3 years, my battery life is not great. The thing I like about iPhone is that at least they've been consistent. Ever since getting an iPad, I've fallen in love with the look and feel of iOS. I've been a long time Android user since the s8 but I think I'm gonna switch to iPhone...Samsung's phones have simply disappointed me as of late.
I got the iPhone 13 in January. It replaced my Samsung S10. It is different for sure, I am glad to be rid of the curved screen (I kept hitting random commands on the edge). I had the S10 two days after release. I loved my Samsung, I switched from iPhone 8 to the S10. As far as operation and function they both do the trick. I do miss something from the S10, but I can not tell you exactly what. For me, the stupid easy operations and function of Apple is nice. I also like the security of the Apple. I have recently decided I am going knuckles deep in Apple. Headphones, computer, tablet, and watch. not all at once of course. Great video. It was enjoyable to watch.
Hi, thanks for your feedback. Just one warning, when you are deep in the Apple eco system, it is difficult to get out. If you would wish to do so, of course :)
@RUclips Sans iPhone SE is trash. I got one and got to get rid of it asap. From the screen, camera, battery life,... just dissapointing. I don't recommend getting one.
Samsung DeX is one of the most powerful features on Galaxy. I can replace my laptop with it lol. Trust me it's that good. But maybe not for everyone with specific needs
For raw power, iPhone wins (better processor and stability). For camera and software, it's a draw. For screen, S22 wins. Even though I don't like to waste money on expensive things, but if I were to choose, I'd definitely go for the iPhone. I prefer power with stability over a fancy screen.
@@DEEPAKTHAKUR-xn8ki I've been using Samsung S7 edge since early 2017 until now and I still love it. Back then, it was a choice between this and iPhone 7. This was my choice because of Android OS, SD card, good battery and dual SIM option - plus after 3 years of using, I found out that my variant (Exynos) can do custom ROM, which I'll do after getting a new phone. I hate everything that are not "bang for bucks" especially iPhones and now, that includes flagship Androids. Let's say, if I were to buy a 2022 flagship phone... I will definitely won't go for iPhone. Reason? I love Android. Power stability wise, I'd go for Poco F3... but I need IP68 and currently, there are no Android with good power stability with IP68.
Like both phones but I have the iPhone 13 in Green I always end up going back to iPhones I have had Samsung phones in the past which I like thanks for sharing X
I have s22 plus and I don't have any problem you said about s22. the phone is very smooth and I don't have any lag. i think the software update fix those problems
You can’t just keep switching every year, like me I was an iphone user for 4 years then went and got the s10+ after 4 years i got the iphone 13, has its pros and cons but so far i love the iphone, they did a lot of improvements.
That was an honest review, most and almost all the tech reviewers on the RUclips community these days are not honest and give bad suggestions and give biased reviews which is very bad
You are an apple fan boy. The Samsung feels so much more responsive and faster because of it's higher touch sampling rate which wasn't mentioned. The iphone animations make it even slower and you can't make them faster like on any android. Samsung is so much more feature packed and overall a better phone. The only con I have found specifically with the s22 is the battery life.
The day you buy apple and samsung, samsung will run faster than apple. The day you decide to sell both the phone, iphone will still run at the same speed but Samsung's performance will be degraded a lot.
A few years ago, people would argue and spew hateful slurs at each other on what brand is the best. I can barely find similar comments these days. We've really come a long way.
I've been a samsung user since the galaxy S2. One thing I hate about Samsung phones is battery life. I currently own the S21 and battery life is absolute crap. I would've switched to the Iphone 13 or Iphone 13 pro for this reason alone, if Apple had touch ID in them. So please Apple, bring back touch ID in Iphone 14. 😀
Iphone wins! -Better camera (Video unmatchable) -Faster processing -No heating -Awesome Battery -Security (Facelock is the best once u get used to it) -Value for money
@@ahmedalsoufi7574 I've been using the 13 close to 5 months now. I havent noticed any heating issues yet. The A15 is a splendid and more efficient chip.
I'm an iphone 13 pro user and other apple products, but the Samsung S22 has far better features. But I trust the iphone privacy secutiry and I use either my iwatch or Iphone for convenient purchases.
So basically you are an apple fanboy who settles for 1) an ugly notch on the display and calls it a face-id (nothing but face unlock) which is faster in Samsung (you heard that right). 2) You prefer a slow 60hz display in 2022 where phone displays are getting 144hz. Samsung S22 has 120hz display which is again, faster than the iPhone. 3) Oh, and did I mention the super slow charging speed of apple iPhones since 200 B.C.E (LMAO) and the poor overnight charging thing? And again, Samsung has a 45-watt charging speed which is way faster than your.. Ok so you CHOSE TO BE SLOWER just so you can stay in a "ecosystem"? That's weird. Not your fault since you have "caged yourself" (Get a joke or maybe not). Don't get me wrong I love the iPhone and it's cameras and everything but that doesn't mean I close my eyes to clearly better features. Get better my man. Not the best but a little better in your content and mentality. Also, pardon me if I'm harsh but believe me I just mentioned the facts. Maybe it's for the best. Peace ✌️
I recently got an iPhone 13 mini *for FREE* ('midnight'-color, of course). US-based carrier 'Verizon' is literally giving them away by simply adding an additional line to an existing subscriber's "family plan". Not bad! I'm sure both phones are excellent, but I definitely prefer the iPhones and the entire Apple ecosystem.
Currently using an S20, but want to switch because the battery's getting really bad. been eyeing the iPhone 13 but I'm not so sure because then my Watch4 would be obsolete.
Hi, this is a common problem, the deeper you are in an eco system, the more difficult it is to get out. If the watch is important to you then you could consider the SE2022 in combination with the 13 in case you decide to go for IOS
I agree to all comparisson on this video.. but there are many things that makes me go back to using samsung coming from iphone.. 1.) the keyboard really sucks in the iphone & I can use touchpal keyboard in samsung whicj is an amazing keboard.. 2.) Iphone lack in customization.. 3.) There is a new feature in android 12 called protect battery which I am able to use the charger to power my samsung s22 ultra bypassing the battery so that I will keep my battery unused.. I can also bring battery case & a power bank if I am outside.. as long as I keep the phone's battery at 95% it will use the external power source.. 3.) S22 ultra has camera a better camera than iphone 13 pro max.. also better larger screen.. But both iphone & samsung are awesome phones.. many smartphones nowadays are mostly very nice & very capable.. but for me the best for now is my s22 ultra..
The Apple Watch is the reason I switched from Samsung to IPhone. It is seamless and works so well together. It was a painful transition, it felt like Bizzarro World for the first few weeks.
The darker is, the more detailed and better shots are taken by iPhone, have both and I have tested it many times. iPhone 13 main sensor is definitely better.
I have both.. S22 primary camera and screen quality is better than iphone 13.. Here I am not referring to 60 hz vs 120 Hz but the overall color contrast and HDR.. I use S22 more while watching Netflix.. Iphone 13 is ahead of S22 only in case of battery life and no heating issue...
@@DionMedia very true. I'm just mentioning that when I had the S21, the 120hz was mostly a gimmick shown to friends with cheaper phones rather than something I used on the daily. I switched over to the iPhone 13 recently and only use power saving when absolutely necessary. The optimization is top class on the iPhone, on everything from the cameras to the apps to the battery
Hi Richard, I always aim to look objectively at the quality, and in general I am quite pleased with the 13. And let’s see what the 14 will bring (and the 15 :))
If the iPhone can run Android somehow, I would prefer the iPhone. I just need the software capabilities of Android, but I still like the iPhones hardware. And also, with Samsung or other Android phones, there is so much more choice. For example: if somebody only makes phone calls and text but still want a new phone, Android is just objectively better at that point.
Have you tried switching color modes on the samsung? It's originally turned to vivid which is oversaturated but there is a natural mode as well which is far more calming to the eye.
i really don't get it most youtubers have given this to samsung and i'd say the camera is better on samsung with more detail and more saturation can also be a good thing and samsung has a lot of extra others features.the look depends on ur preference and i'd say its really close and could go to either side but more often to samsung (varies from person to person as i said)
@@DionMedia yess and the boxy feel on the iphone is very appealing and the ecosystem is also a big thumbs up so as we said depends on preference for the most part
Well I called AAA a few days ago for a jump and while waiting my s22 base was dying lol so much for the battery not being an issue haha. Luckily had a wireless charger
The images from the iphone is the one that's more saturated. iphone has this signature orange ish tint specially on skintones and it's not a "natural look". Just compare how he looked on this video compared to the images shown.

I feel like Samsung are never gonna beat apple on battery life at this point , so instead should be working on charging speed , if you can charge your phone in 10 mins who cares about battery life
Well, what Apple can do, Samsung should be able to do as well. But you have a point concerning the charging time:)
If your batt is low in the evening just charge for 10 min , you will get enough charge for the rest of the day , superfast charging in Samsung is cool.

The s22 cameras are actually better in term of details and has a telephoto

Most people buying this level of phone have no real interest in display refresh rates. It would not be a reason to switch.
Hi, I see your point, but although my channel so far is modest I notice quite some interest in this comparison video. Perhaps many first time users :)
I'm pretty sure you can turn the s22 from 'vivid' to 'natural' in the settings to make the pictures less saturated.
It looks kinda dull on "natural." Would that be what the OLED iPhone screens look like?🤔
I understand the dilemma, after spending so much on the iPhone's it becomes hard to look at it's shortcomings....you want to justify your purchase in the end.
Hi Ratul, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. Although I come from an Apple background I am also turning to Android and your observations are very useful. And I like to compliment you on the longest comments I have received so far on this channel :)

@@ratul_karmakar He will be happy! It is a user’s choice to feel satisfied with their own purchase. I can say the same thing about Android. How can you keep up with those laggy phones? I am an Android user btw. I like pixel. Other android phones are meh. At the end of the day, no other user needs any other user’s approval. I do understand you are so frustrated he chose iPhone over Samsung in most cases. I mean otherwise you would not leave such long comment. Please let us not talk about iOS vs Android features again and again! It is what it is.
Best, Dion
i'll be completely honest... i dont even notice it and i came from samsung i now have an iphone 13 max... love it! runs soo smooth
Animations on the iPhone are still better than the Samsung, despite the fact that it has 120hz
Hi Pedro, thanks for sharing
Well said. I think I'm done messing with customization, I just want something simple, reliable, and long-lasting. So, I'll wait for the iphone 14 pro
@@Mein_KampfyChair sameeee
@Ishaan Sharma I’m not sure you have used an iPhone in recent times..🤔
@@Joe-ka I like 120hz thats what fast chargers are for
@@marcushammer2406 But the S22 has a variable refresh rate which helps it to save more battery compared to iPhone 13 which is capped at 60Hz.
It's all about the os you prefer. specs don't matter in this case, if you don't like the os you won't be happy with the phone.
Largely agree, but for me specs are important as well:)
i like how he isn’t super biased. like a lot of people who do phone reviews
there was one guy that i watched that did a comparison and what’s better. even though he said the iphone is better in ways. he still gave the point of that thing to the samsung. just because he likes samsung more
Thank you, yes I try to be objective, but in this polarized debate it is a bit difficult. I admit having more experience with IOS than Android, so it is possible that I might have missed points about the S22. In that sense the many feedbacks have been very useful
I am with Galaxy S22 Plus! Love my phone! Samsung always delivers!
It is a great phone indeed, but in my comparison the Iphone comes on top
@@DionMedia just depends on the use, if your a power user then easily Samsung on top, if your are social media person or content creator than Iphone.

S22 Plus has green screen issue, fyi.
@@PassionPno haven't experienced it
I've consistently had the opposite problem on my iPhones... apps freeze and glitch a lot more than they do on the Galaxies I've had. What you said about software/operating system seemed like old, generic Apple narrative. Not a reflection of reality.
Hi, sorry to hear this, it is not the general feedback about iPhones and definitively not my experience
Couldn't agree more.
It's true, I upgraded iPhones yearly until I switched with the s9 and s20. Went back with the 12 pro and I relized it wasn't as simple and glitch free as I remembered, it becomes a subconscious thing that's dismissed.
I have to say I'm glad apple was able to make equally good flagship in compact body of the mini. Too bad they discontinued mini for the future.
Great Review man!!!
And I appreciate that you reply for almost every comments👍👍

Hi, thanks for sharing your view
Lol Samsung s22 ultra beats the iphone 13 pro max in almost everything
And I really don’t care about split screen, it’s a phone it’s useless, you get a 3 cm app, you might see your reflection in that, I’ve seen a girl say it’s so useful and much faster, she tried to make one app bigger and took her twice the time it would to swipe to another app, but sorry for this stupid book I just wrote here
you can atualy go to samsung display settings and turn on "natural" mode if you dislike the too vibrant colours.
thanks for sharing!
Hi Michelle, thanks for sharing your view. Agree and glad you enjoy your S22plus trouble free
It's actually other way around because iPhone's camera tends to get warmer photos while samsung is more on the natural side

The darker is, the more detailed and better shots are taken by iPhone, have both and I have tested it many times. iPhone 13 main sensor is definitely better.

@@DionMedia you did a great job with being objective, great video!😁
Thanks Richard, not all agree:)
I'm a samsung fan but it's undeniable how good is the apple iOS/ecosystem and their camera photos are ussually very good
Depends if you’re an android or an iPhone person my girlfriend loves her S 22 ultra I love my iPhone 12
Great, the best of both worlds in one relationship :)
Hi Dyvel, yes, I have tried that and I agree with your analysis
@@kd12356 he tried it when he saw this comment
i really don't get it most youtubers have given this to samsung and i'd say the camera is better on samsung with more detail and more saturation can also be a good thing and samsung has a lot of extra others features.the look depends on ur preference and i'd say its really close and could go to either side but more often to samsung (varies from person to person as i said)
Hi Aleksio, thanks for sharing your view. I agree that it is pretty close and that a lot depends on private preferences as well
@@DionMedia yess and the boxy feel on the iphone is very appealing and the ecosystem is also a big thumbs up so as we said depends on preference for the most part
Well I called AAA a few days ago for a jump and while waiting my s22 base was dying lol so much for the battery not being an issue haha. Luckily had a wireless charger
Hi Sam, thanks for your comments. Yes, where would we be without a wireless charger:)
The images from the iphone is the one that's more saturated. iphone has this signature orange ish tint specially on skintones and it's not a "natural look". Just compare how he looked on this video compared to the images shown.
120hz refresh rate and a cheaper real-life price make the s22 a much better deal.
lmao ok Mr Apple Fan boy 6:04 S22 is more "saturated" yet go and tell me on which you got a sun burn.... not even gonna bother arguing on other stuff, that comparaison was obviously biased. shame...
