In some of the ditches by my field in Trimont Minnesota, there was a bunch of bluegill in a ditch, and I went fishing, and I caught a couple the craziest experience of my life
I’m a fellow Minnesotan here. I’m new to your channel, I think it was recommended to me because I follow several other MN RUclips channels. I’m sorry to see the loss of crops here. I pray things improve for our farmers soon.
Hello, I have been watching all the flooding and the dam breach in Mankoto Mn. and y'all's channel pop up. I don't no anything about this type of farming only live stock farming. Living here in N. Texas we had flooding started late March and finally ended the last day of May. Now it is hot with high temps and humidity, but nothing new for Texas. I pray that your weather gets its act together soon. Stay safe and take care.
Im in Montgomery in LeSeuer cty. The last round of storms brought us around 4.5". Within the last week my rain gage has caught around 9 inches total. Its insane. Good luck guys!
My dad went fish at Twin Lakes, just east of town, last weekend and said that the water was only 5 feet from the bottom of the bridge. I don't ever remember the water being so high
what a sight to see , thanks Carson , seems unbelievable , so much rain , you can see the land is so flat and no where for the water to go that fast , I know your land has tiles but if the water is above a certain level it makes no difference , hope you get some dry weather very soon and the water goes down , all the work that goes into getting the crop that far be good to see some improvement on the next one
Grew up on a farm in ND. Sorry to see the damage. I still have several friends back in ND farming who have had to deal with the lakes in fields too this year. Sure hope things dry out soon and everything works out for all the hard working farmers !
Sorry to pop your bubble but the heavy equipment operators on road construction jobs work harder than a farmer does and longer hours. I own farm land in North Dakota that has been in the family for a 125 years. My grandpas farmed with horses, along with my great-uncles, great-great uncles, great-grandpas, great-great grandpas... In North Dakota if one out of ten farms even have a chicken I would be surprised. They have no livestock and 90% of the time the wife works in town. Hard working farmers my ass.
We had a creek in the neighborhood and the pike would use it in the spring for breeding beds. Some really big pike would be in the creek. We didn’t let the information out. Some people would have netted them out of season.
today i took my raptor 700 up and down the des moines river from curri dam off lake shetek to the talcot lake dam there are some great flooding and some good footage
Hey guys an easy way to remember the days in a month . You use your knuckles . Make a fist. Starting with the knuckle on you index finger that knuckle will be January, in-between your first and second knuckle would be February then the 2nd knuckle would be march and so on. So the knuckles are months with 31 days and in- between the knuckles are months with 30 days.

Corn isn’t supposed to be grown hydroponically, but you could always give it a try. Soggy, soggy, soggy! Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, it’s now 1M lakes.
This is my first time on here. I think it came up because of the flood video's i watch. Hopefully, for you, all the water will drop in a hurry. Very interesting video. Good luck to you!!!!
We are north and east of albert lea and friday and sat rains gave us another 4". I lost count of all the other inches of rain the last 2 weeks. Beans are starting to get weedy and theyll be a whole lot weeder before we can get in to spray them
@@6thGenFarmer I just harvest my organic wheat this week and now Monday will start with the conventional we're getting a couple little showers now other than that it was pretty dry
The corn fields look like rice paddy’s. Can you imagine if this area wasn’t so flat, the water flow would be much more forceful and washing away good top soil for farming. I hope everyone is safe, animals are safe and crops don’t get ruined. The new Minnesota, land of 20,000 lakes. Thanks for sharing the reality of this incredible weather event. God bless. Gotta ❤ Love Farmer
I live in rock valley, iowa. Our small town has been nearly destroyed. We will survive! But it's gonna take a long time. It's been almost 3 weeks and we still have some residents living at the church. So so sad.
My family lives in SE South Dakota and NW Iowa and they are evacuating some people from the towns there. You should see the Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD. The water there is running like crazy.
So what happens to an organic field when chemical laden runoff from a non-organic field flows onto and soaks into the ground. Is it considered a non organic field too? Or does everyone look the other way and still sell the produce as organic?
Being really close to the north/south continental divide, combined with flat land, makes for widespread flooding. But it beats the alternative. Steep elevation changes would scour the land.
A foot of water can wash a vehicle away! Many people in Arizona would attempt to drive through puddles after monsoons and quickly discovered they need to be rescued.
I remember the 1993 flood. As bad as this is, I've seen a lot worse a few times. Though this could easily turn into a lot worse. I hope you are able to salvage something. 92/ 93 was a huge winter snow fall.
@@Rock0531 there will definitely be a yield loss because of how saturated the soil is. Hard to tell what it will be. But the biggest thing is the acres under water will all be dead and grow nothing.
the fish arent going there by choice. there is a pull from the large body of water to the (was empty) overflow. the suction force is called delta p, and is a very dangerous thing to interact with.
Great coverage of your horrible misfortune. We have had similar issues here in Texas recently. Can you say what model of drone you are using? Thanks, and good luck replanting.

This is crazy to see. I’m on the border of eastern Iowa and western Illinois and we haven’t had much rain at all the last few weeks.
Rain amounts seem to change a lot in a small area
Most of Minnesota has had a lot of rain the last few weeks. I live a 1.5 or 2.5 hours north of where this guy lives and its not as bad
@@6thGenFarmer OR haarp is doing it.
For the last few weeks cuz they were prepping you for the big flood that Thay just give you the video called the Deming okay thanks
I think it's either oxygen, or maybe the carp are spawning...?
As a farmer in SW Ontario, it's so tough to see this.
God bless you folks, hoping the weather straightens out soon.
Back in 65 the Mississippi flooded our family farm. Can remember 93 in southeast Iowa

those carp are trying to move upstream. They move to flowing water. For example spillways, dams, and what you are seeing there.
Looks like a lot of common carp, most likely they are laying eggs/spawing season. That is a bowfishers dream.

so is that the beginning of a tile that's flowing backwards? So the high lake level is flooding your field gullies via the tile system!
