You forgot to mention that if you complete the Eos core, everyone sets out beyond the Gaol, with the player being the last one to leave. The player then hears something and turns, and in surprise, simply says “Io.” Which implies Io was able to do one of two things, either separate herself from the tree without killing it or create a duplicate of herself, both out of her desire to want to be with the player.

"Louis is Karen's sister" Got a little something reversed there, lol.
For the most part, in the bad ending, it's not just everyone is sad. Louis takes Silva's spot on the throne to maintain the red mist, and all of the other party members take their corresponding loved one's spot as a successor (Mia in Breath, Yakumo in Claw, Jack in Throat). It's pretty much just a hard reset, minus Mido trying to fuck everything up and now no one is going around calming the successors.

The Problem with that is : The Aragami doesn't have Actual Blood for them to drink, and they don't have any Idea of "Oracle Cell Technology" , By that I mean : Unless they find a way to "Infuse" their Blood Veils with that Technology They are going to Starve into a Frenzy, and that's without accounting for "Aragami Infection" If Revenants try to absorb Oracle Cells WITHOUT Bias Factor, Unless the BOR Parasite can Actually Neutralize Oracle Cells.
If that's the case with the interaction between "BOR' and "Oracle" , They won't be able to "Handle" a God Arc in the first place, Probably the only way for them to "Damage" the Aragami would be through their "Gifts" and Their "Blood Veils" because their Regular weapons won't do anything for Them, not even Drain "Ichor" since Aragami don't have actual Blood.

Apparently the origional working title was God Eater Zero while Code Vein was a placeholder name for the project, and they changed it later on in the development to Code Vein being the official title to keep the God Eater twist fresh for the players.
There were references all throughout, such as the Bugarally doll and the Thorns of Judgment from the GE anime, but we were supposed to think those were just call backs.
And then there's the dataminers who found out that in the source code the game refers to itself as GEZ.

Not just the inclusion of the word "blood" in a lot of it's materials, but a lot of other things that GE2/RB did in terms of plot and mechanics. The fact that the Psions taking vampyric traits/mechanics means that the Aragami interacted with creatures that have these traits.

@@otakudaikun Most likely because Code Vein is basically "Dark Souls Lite". Like, in my head I keep on calling mistles "bonfires" and kept on referring to the Cathedral as Anor Londo.
What prolly throws you off is that Code Vein in the end is a rather cheery games with all the friends you have around. Dark Souls instead puts you alone (most of the time) pretty much at the end of the world and you can do nothing to stop it. Instead it's up to you to choose how it ends. Does it ends as a prolongation of what is already there or do you allow the Age of Fire to come to an end so that after the Age of Dark it can begin anew ? With that grim perspective it's pretty normal that it doesn't appeal you much.
Lore-wise however Code Vein and Dark Souls are pretty much identical. In CV you start as some revenant like many others and then you find out you can reclaim those memories for whatever reason. Next you find out you're the one who actually put the Queen to rest which makes you an unofficial Successor. Depending from the ending you have the Continuity Ending (as I'd call it) which is the bad ending, Neutral Ending (where you take over Silva's role to keep the Mist up) and the Good Ending where you leave the Gaol of the Mists.
Similarly in Dark Souls 1 you start up as some random undead of whom there's many and after a bit of progression you wind up discovering a prophecy which involves ringing a Bell of Awakening. On the way to this prophecy you defeat a whole bunch of increasingly more powerful beings, which is quite unprecedented and much like the protagonist of Code Vein you find out that not everything is as it seems as there isn't one but two bells. Ringing them opens up the path for you to the land of the gods: Anor Londo (which is a bit less convoluted than the Cathedral in CV but I digress). At this point you've exceeded what is considered "normal" for an undead. You end up tasked in reuniting the fragments of Gwyn's soul (the guy being basically the guy who forged the land you're in) so you can get access to the Kiln of the First Flame and rekindle the fading flame (I suppose you've noticed the similarity with the initial "check on the Successors goal in CV). You do that, punt the final boss (Gwyn, or what's left of him) and you basically have a choice to make: rekindling the flame or letting it burn out, as by now you've learned that the flame will die out anyways, regardless of what you choose to do.
If anything Dark Souls 3 is even closer to Code Vein as it has a more fast paced combat, on par with Bloodborne.
The beginning is pretty much identical to the first but your goal is more straightforward as you're tasked with reuniting the Lords of Cinder so you can rekindle the waning flame (or not but I'll get more on that in a bit as this one has actually four endings, just like CV). Said Lords are those who in the past rekindled the fading flame just like you can choose to do in DS1. The process is similar here as you're in a noname undead who gradually rises in power up to to the point where you're an equal to these Lords. In the end after defeating the Soul of Cinder ( an amalgam of all the previous Lords who kindled the flame, much like Silva is an amalgam of the companions of the Successors and the Queen) you can again choose to rekindle the flame and prolong the Age of Fire (who here is really on its last fumes) or let it fade out.
However just like CV you have some less explicit ending choices. You can also choose to usurp the flame and take it for yourself or become a Lord of Hollows instead, as just like Code Vein's Revenants who lose memories and in the end their sense of self and can completely frenzy if not fed blood, turning into Lost, in DS undead stuck in this endless cycle of death and rebirth end up losing their humanity, turning into the Hollows you've been slaying this entire time. So you basically have four choices: rekindle the flame (Neutral Ending), let it fade out (Good/Bad depending from your point of view), Lord of Hollows ending where you basically embrace this state of perpetual twilight (equivalent to CV's alternate ending) and the Usurp the Flame ending who's an alternate version of the first one.
Both games really follow the same path: you're put the challenge to overcome impossible odds to fulfill your end goal and it's only through perseverance that you succeed. Gameplay-wise it's pretty much identical. You have the healing (estus/Regen Factor in CV), the helper (Shrine Handmaid/Lo), you can parry/riposte enemies (which are the the attacks you do with your own blood veil in CV). Some locations are heavily inspired by it as well. Cathedral of the Lost is clearly inspired by Anor Londo, the Ridge of Frozen Souls is really reminescent of the Painted World of Ariamis in DS1 and the Painted World of Ariandel in DS3 alongside with some areas of the DLC. Some bosses/enemies also are really similar, the most glaring to me being the Cannoneer/ Blade Bearer duo of bosses, clearly inspired by the iconic Ornstein & Smough duo from DS1.
Gonna stop there with the comparisons but yeah, the two are very similar. Main difference is that CV is a bit more forgiving that DS is. Dying bears no penalty except the loss of haze whereas DS penalizes you for that with the loss of humanity/embered state which makes it impossible for you to coop and also cause a decrease in stats. You can also pretty much have a companion all the time whereas in DS unless you coop you'll be alone 90% of the time. Quests are more on the nose in CV as well with map markers and the like, etc... Basically CV is a good "pre Dark Souls" experience. Personally I didn't feel lost in terms of mechanics with CV and I doubt that someone who jumps in DS from CV will be either.

@@primodragoneitaliano this game builds itself off the whole gloomy player/mc connection aesthetic and concept. i played a fuckton of DS1-3 long before i picked up CV and was pleasantly surprised with how similar the two are, with CV having a significantly steeper learning curve thanks to backstabbing and unlocked weapon swings being much harder to pull off. i-frames, as well as parry frames are pretty good though (at least on the default blood veil) and lore wise, they are practically identical with obvious differences. if there was an undead arena or pontiff type balcony with the ability to summon reds i would probably spend a lot more time on this game. it is more centered around the story than mechanics though, for the most part, and while dark souls only has cutscenes before you whack the big guys, CV actually has too many. the amount of loading screens is painful. overall i think it matches dark souls’ difficulty or higher, especially solo on NG+X ,depending on how much experience you have with this type of game, so i think the devs delivered.

I think you uave ignored an important detail for the sake of those who don’t know about God Eater: Oracle cells cannot be destroyed by any conventional means, The God Eaters are called such as their weapons contain the very same cells but tamed, allowing them to consume the Aragami.
Which bores the immediate question how the Revenants were instead successful in fighting them. The only logical explanation is that the bor parasite could be oracle cells or something on the same wave, allowing Revenants to consume Aragami and even to repel them with magic.
Oracle cells have unlimited evolution possibilites, could it be that the parasite is a planet anti-body to it? That the queen was simply a Nova?

    • @kamai9

Yeah, I mean, the cast of Characters that are going beyond the Red Mist won't have any source of Blood since almost everything has been consumed by the Aragami, unless Murasame has that gigantic backpack full of BloodBeads, they are done for in the Next 2 Months of travel because they won't know any better....
Also, The BOR Parasite Can't be the Planet's Anti-Body Because the "Oracle Cells" are actually made BY the Planet to Reset Itself, Literally These God Eaters are Fighting against "Mother Nature"
The only possible way for that to be True is IF the Oracle Cells came from an Outside Source or Entity which is never Implied in the God Eater Games, At this Point they are Very close to writing themselves into a corner in the Story... ( Unless they pull a Neon Genesis Evangelion ending, meaning that they were always fighting a losing battle to begin with and everything resets anyways. )
So... Unless they Find a way to fully Stop the Earth's "Natural" mechanism to "Reset" itself, they Need to Use Code Vein to avoid getting into said "Corner" Story-wise...
It will all come down to Whether or Not the BOR Parasite Is indeed Derived from the Oracle Cells.
Or they save themselves the Head-Ache and say that they are in "Parallel" universes...
Edit : Also , Aragami don't have actual "Blood" for the Revenants to Consume and that's going to be a Huge Problem unless the Story writers starts to "Ret-Con" the God Eater Lore which will be my Cue to be done with the series IMO.

@@kamai9 To be honest, nothing says that Oracle Cells cannot be a substitute to blood, since Oracle Cells have the ability to replicate everything. The Aragami have blood, just look into some cutscenes, but it's ideally blood created by mere replication of the organism, they don't need it.
Ideally, the perfect cut in would be that the BOR parasite is just another way the Oracle Cells evolved, since if you take the story with a grain of cold logic, Revenants are biologically made to hunt humans. Lost are reduced to nothing but human blood hunters.
And this is the shocker: Mido was right all along, nothing says the Lost body anomalies aren't just Oracle Cells replications, and if you realize it, why there are no Aragami in the Gaol? The spires are there, the Oracle Cells should be around regardless as the Gaol is surely high but doesn't go all the way up in the stratosphere, and we all know Oracle Cells can safely travel to the frikkin moon and back.
So in other words, Revenants could be seen as another form of Aragami, and ideally if humans evolve full compatibility with the Oracle Cells, the Bias Factor would be annihilated and the apocalypse will stop as the neo-humans will be seen as the planet new Apex-Nova and thus the righful survivors.
EDIT: Also as an extra, we don't know, but ideally Io could be starting growing Mistles outside the Gaol, slowly expanding it. And the moment they met an human settlement like a satellite city, that's all the blood they need.

Blood Dragon Kamai Again, you are not considering the possibility the BOR parasite IS an Aragami.
Bias Factor is a fancy word for basically dietary needs. It tells Oracle Cells “ consume x to evolve”.
One interesting thing in Vein is that ONLY human blood stops the frenzy. Only that specific blood.
Now, what if it’s no bloodlust at all, but a Bias Factor of the Parasite? One resource none ever consider gere is Haze, never fully described, apparently the key to unlock Revenant potential, but apparently doing nothing in regards of maintaining sanity.
What if Haze is another name for Oracle Cells? Aragami has misnamed in the game after all. And the blood is needed to keep the parasite on the “human” evolutionary route.
Not to mention all Revenant magical powers would devastate God Eater lore...if not for the fact we saw many of those powers before. In ARAGAMI.
I’m fully convinced Cruz had Nova potential and the BOR parasite just awakened that. It elegantly solves all problems with the universes by having both lores come from the same roots, genetic discoveries of “new” cells.
Oracle cells are suppose to keep evolving until a Nova exist that rebirths the planet anew, but by the same concept none said it has to be violent. Revenants and Mistles will simply replace humanity with time, becoming their natural predators.
EDIT: Not to mention, memory abilities? We saw them in God Eater, as New-Type powers. Successor potential candidate may just be that, humans that have they stayed humans, would qualify as God Eaters.
Then again, I’m just speculating here. It’s not like I work and Namco and know their ideas. Still, I doubt it’s something they didn’t think through, it’s clear that the idea is “with their blood needs sedated, the Revenants will now fight the Aragami. “

I would personally like it better if the BOR Parasite was its own thing that has a unique interaction with the Oracle Cells, but that's me.
In regards of the "Blood Thirst" and why "Only" Human Blood is what's keeping them in check is because Humans are the only "Creatures" left in the Planet, the only creature besides Humans is the Cappabari???(Hamster looking animal) in the Second game, as Stated by Dr. Sakaki when He discussed about the possibility of training Aragami as "Pets" when He asked Kota if He knew what a Dog was in one of the Lectures, Or at least that's what I think is the reason why "only" human blood because there's nothing else alive, Unless there are a few surviving animals that are pretty well hidden that I don't know about.

A good video to make sense of the many parallel stories that go on and are difficult to piece together. But you got some details wrong! I assume you are speculating on some details and have your own take, but I don't agree on them with the information given.
The timeline and revenant generations, first gen revenants are after the great collapse, when Aragami first showed up. There was research on the BOR parasite before the great collapse, but official "Revenants" were not created yet at this point. You can imagine a huge conflict of morals and human rights would prevent any further research to reach that point, before the world went to shit.
Mistles and blood springs are separate things, but possibly connected, but they share that their functions replenishes from Queen's blood. Mistles are not a part of the blood spring network, as that is Karen's creation.
Mistles are a creation of the still sane Cruz, they do not carry beads yet you are stating that! You left out the detail of their other purpose as well, they act as beacons for revenants to disperse safely to, and presumably, aid the regeneration process. Lost cannot disperse to mistles and presumably are repelled as well. They have excellent strategic and military benefit for revenants to fight horrors, where instead of dispersing to bumfuck nowhere possibly a long time later, you quickly return to behind safe lines, ready to enter battle quickly. After all, many revenants lived this way of repeatedly dying and dispersing back to safety, only to seek death again.
Mido: We don't actually know if he turned anything into revenants BEFORE the great collapse. Additionally, Yakumo, Emily, Miguel, Riki and the rest of the private militarist squad under Mido, were not revenants until after the great collapse. We can assume he pushed the boundaries of humanity without turning things into revenants at this point. When you talk on Yakumo's story, you correct yourself on this.
On the vestiges, and queen's relics, and the whole touching them, you don't frenzy because you are a void type, not because of Queen's power. However there is some connection of Cruz' ability, being a void type, the queen's power and or the attendants when it comes to weaving memories together to restore a will/bloodcode. We don''t explicitly know who this power comes from, but it seems that other attendants are aware that you can take on Vestiges to restore the memory within. If it was unique to Queen's powers, other successors would have been able to.
Eva: They crushed her throat because they didn't like her singing, if i recall correctly. Additionally, Jack and Eva are particularly compatible, hence why they were able to leave their crypts without fearing the same risk of frenzy as the others would.
Mido2: He was meant to be the successor of the claw, he used the relic to become what he is, but he is not carrying any relic anymore, thus not a successor.
Silva/Skullking: He only gets the relics of the successors you did not get time to see. The successors kept their relics until after the fight against the virgin born, additionally you are not fighting a "he" anymore, it's the Queen.
Io is who pulled the relics from the Successors, also allowing them to revert to their human form.
You also skipped the part where the good ending has a distinct difference at the absolute end if you restored all the Eos vestiges or not. Speculation and popular assumptation is that Io appears before you, to fulfill her promise of always being with you, even if you leave the mists as she as the weeping tree cannot be with you then.
Also you brush over the BOR parasites origin a little. Before the great collapse, creatures once known to be dead started walking, the process then dubbed zombification, they found bor parasites nested within their hearts.
Also it is worth adding that Code Vein is probably in New York, with the license plates, taxis, architecture, being on a coast and the fucking Manhattan bridge being there. And God Eater happens in Japan for 1 and 2 and in Europe for 3, so it makes sense that there is no connection between the games stories and explains why you never meet. Time wise Code Vein happens before God Eater 1's end, or else we would see a green moon. It makes sense for surviving organizations like Fenrir to have zero reason to travel far into Aragami territory on hope of finding survivors in a land far away.

    • @kamai9

What about the God Eater Manga that takes Place in Fenrir's "American Branch", where the Original owner of Kanon's God Arc is introduced, and the Boost Hammer made it First appearance way before the Second game was a thing?
Although it is possible that the American Branch is very far away from Code Vein's whereabouts or New York if you are right ....

    • @HolyMolyCows
      @HolyMolyCows 4 года назад +9

@@kamai9 That is a good point, I didn't even know that was a thing, God Eater story is a mess and every piece of it is some usually independent piece built on similar foundations. It's most likely Fenrir would have gone to the West Coast instead of the East Coast, as it's geographically closest. I can imagine travelling over land over large continents to be much more dangerous than just travelling over ocean as well. Eitherway, in God Eater as far as I know, there is no mention of blood drinking undying humans with great power.
Also it's probably fair to assume that Code Vein and if it has any sequels connected closer to the God Eater universe, you can expect more things to be retconned or solidified. For instance the thorns of judgement only showed up in one episode of the anime, yet it's a "Yes this happened everywhere" in Code Vein. It's very possible we will see more things either changed or removed, or things that had been given less attention to be suddenly a mayor part of the world.

I'll admit that I'm not super well-versed in the lore of the God Eater series, but from what little research Ive done, I think its very much worth exploring the similarities between Lost/Aragami, and Revenants/God Eater. In particular, I think that BOR Parasites are probably made out of Oracle Cells, and are a type of proto-Aragami, and I think that the Haze that's released from destroyed Lost and Revenants is actually Oracle Cells, which is why the Revenants use them to grow stronger from defeated enemies, similar to how God Eaters, well, eat gods. I think the biggest evidence for this is that the Aragami you fight in the DLC not only fade away and give Haze just like the lost, but most importantly, they also have Blood Codes that you can acquire. I'd love to hear more thoughts on this from someone who actually knows about God Eaters.

    2. when some1 frenzies the BOR parasyte invades more of their body, completely taking over the hosts' body and turning into the lost. a side effect of this is that the lost effectively can't be killed since the BOR parasyte has spread over the entire body. it can always use dispersal to save itself no matter how the hosts' body is damaged.

I know you weren't trying to really fry or insult Soulsborne in any way, but I just want to say that your opening statements about the Soulsborne/Sekiro are awfully dismissive about what truly makes those games beloved by many. In fact, your comments about loving how Code Vein gives you small pieces of the lore that takes genuine thought to appreciate is so much more true for the Soulsborne games, which are notorious for their subtlety and having their cryptic lore hidden away in every piece of flavor text and descriptions throughout the series, making the game's story only as intrusive as the player wants it to be. The games accentuate rising up against nigh-impossible odds and slaying god-like beings, despite being an underdog that no one thought could defy the cycle of the first flame or the night of the hunt.
You're not limited to just being a knight in Souls games, either. You can be a darkwraith dedicated to bringing an end to the age of fire and ushering the age of man, a disciple of an everlasting dragon that seeks to find their own inner dragon, a Havel monster, Giantdad, servant of the chaos of Izalith, a fragile mage or pyromancer, or even that one guy who only uses katanas while wearing nothing but a loincloth. Customizing a unique or "meta" build is one of the most fun aspects of the souls games in general.
I don't know how I'd convince you that Soulsborne are anime enough. But even with the lack of anime style graphics/art, I think the Lady Maria, Saint Isshin, Midir, Sister Friede, Artorias, Gael, and Ludwig battles stand as as some of the best and most anime-like boss encounters in all of gaming, even more-so if you're using stuff like the Old-Hunter's Bone.
Also, the Doll, Firekeeper, Rice Loli, and Andre are A-grade marriage material. I would protect and care for them with my easily extinguished ashen/undead/dragonrot-stricken life.

You notice something? The Thorns of Judgement are made of Oracle Cells and are giant Aragami. Oracle Cells have the ability to eat any form of matter, though each Aragami has a preferred food, they'll go for anything when hungry. They can eat dirt or glass or humans or whatever, literally ANY matter... They can even eat energy, seen when an Aragami eats a fucking nuclear explosion during the OVA of the first God Eater.
Notice another thing? The successors used the Thorns of Judgement to create their crypts... And the Queen/Virgin Born/Player can use the ability called Thorns of Judgement, in which the Queen simply creates Thorns of Judgement and fires them out.
BOR Parasites are capable of manipulating Oracle Cells, they are even capable of creating and destroying Oracle Cells, which should only be possible to be done by another Oracle Cell. The Red Mist straight up kills the Dyaus Pita, as it's just gone after it's engulfed.
Does this mean that BOR Parasites are the ultimate Aragami killing weapons? I know the game says the Aragami are beyond the Revenants, and they are, but that's just because of the evolutionary arms race. BOR Parasites can kill Oracle Cells and Oracle Cells can kill BOR Parasites... But now that they've been separated they can no longer interact and evolve to better combat each other.
Humanity is building the God Eaters and God Arcs to fight the Aragami, both continuously evolving. The Revenants are stuck in Vein, with no "new" foes to fight to evolve, meaning eventually the Aragami just... become too powerful for Revenants... Well, most Revenants, that is.
After all, our player character canonically fights Aragami, they leave the Gaol of the Mists (remember, within 60 seconds a motherfucking Dyaus Pita arrived) and the data mined DLC that adds multiple Aragami such as the Hannibal, it even has voice lines of characters like Mia reacting in shock to such a creature. Pretty sure the voice lines are on youtube and/or reddit somewhere.
Plus, someone pointed out to me a while ago the existence of the Blood Unit in God Eater 2 and the Blood Arts. Code Vein absolutely has to take place either before or during GE1, as the Moon is not green, meaning Shio is not there mass producing plants and other life. And she gets there at the end of GE1, so the epilogue of the True Ending takes place AT THE LATEST during the events of God Eater 1... Pretty sure the Moon suddenly turning green is a GIANT FUCKING RED FLAG that something has happened, and it would have been mentioned. Since it wasn't, I am confident that the moon is not green during the epilogue.
So, either God Eater 3 is going to have a Code Vein DLC, Code Vein is getting the God Eater DLC, or God Eater 4 will have Revenants or something to do with them... I highly doubt the existence of FUCKING MAGIC and ARAGAMI MURDERING PERIOD WALLS, IMMORTAL RESURRECTING VAMPIRES AND, once again, FUCKING MAGIC... is going to be ignored in this universe from now on. Maybe a few before they become common knowledge, but this game has basically guaranteed that the GE universe is about to undergo a massive change.
After all... Revenants can fucking control, create and destroy Oracle Cells at will once they get strong enough. As soon as any single God Eater or scientist sees a Revenant do that, or realizes through indirect means that they can do that... I don't believe it needs saying.

    • @otakudaikun

Guikoi To my knowledge Bandai Namco have stated that the CV and GE continuities aren’t the same. They borrow the same elements from each other, such as the aragami and a common origin, but are technically different timelines.

    • @guikoi3101
      @guikoi3101 4 года назад

      @@otakudaikun That's disappointing. Immeasurably so.
I absolutely love Code Vein and God Eater, and since they're in the same universe (though, as you said, differing timelines I guess) I was really hoping for some interaction between the characters.
Hell, maybe there can be! What about a Code Vein 2 where the Revenant MC joins the plot of God Eater 1? And their presence and powers changes the events heavily.
It's an alternate timeline, so it's not like it'll fuck with the main timeline. That's something that can be done.
But... does this mean the main God Eater timeline ALSO has Vein and the Revenants? I guess in the main GE timeline the Successor of the Blood never became the Successor of the Blood, and Juzo is killed before he fucks with Silva and so the mists stay up forever.
Man... Code Vein has started to get me back into God Eater because of my love for the Aragami. Your video has helped as well, since you actively speak of God Eater and the Aragami.
I love how Aragami and Oracle Cells work! They eat something and figure out how that something does the thing it does and then they start doing it as well!
Oracle Cells don't have DNA or RNA in the way we know it. They don't evolve in the same way we know it.
How we all evolve is based on natural selection. Let's say you release pigs into a forest, and there's wolves that will eat these pigs and control their population.
But the trees in the forest are all hollow on the inside, and they have an opening to allow the pigs to hide in them and escape the wolves.
But the holes in the tree are too small for big pigs to fit into, and so only the smaller pigs are able to live on and breed and so their children are also small and it continuous like that.
Oracle Cells on the other hand... they already have EVERYTHING. They already have laser beams and the ability to eat nuclear explosions (the explosion itself! Wrapped around it and gobbled up a fucking EXPLOSION! HOW!?) and they are already capable of traversing space with ease.
But they don't know HOW to do the things they can do. So they eat things around them.
Lava? Teaches them how to be hot and shoot fire.
Ice? Teaches them how to freeze their surroundings.
A tank? The Aragami is now a tank with nuclear missile launchers in its shoulders.
When an Aragami is "killed" (the core is removed), the Oracle Cells disperse and begin munching on any nearby matter, at least those they prefer. Though they can eat literally anything, they prefer some matter over others, but they ALL love humans.
These Oracle Cells will eat and multiply, and eventually they'll reform into multiple cores and Aragami, all of which will have the bonuses the dead Aragami they came from had.
You kill a Corrosive Hannibal, a year later the Oracle Cells from that Corrosive Hannibal has now become 10 Corrosive Hannibals that are even stronger and are now more resistant to your God Arc than they were previously... though your God Arc has also evolved to better match them, so your weapon isn't mad utterly useless after a single hit, but it IS less effective.
Honestly... I say if the Aragami were placed in another universe, something like.. Warhammer 40K, they'd kick ass.
Aragami aren't all that strong by themselves, it's the fact you can't get rid of them and that they become completely immune to your weapons after a few hits.
Specialized anti-Aragami rifle? Hits an Ogretail twice and no longer hurts it at all.
The only things in WH40K that could pose a real threat to the Aragami are the Necrons and the Warp.
Necrons because I'm pretty they have those "fuck you to oblivion" guns that erase shit from reality... But, Aragami can EAT NUCLEAR EXPLOSIONS! NO, I'M NOT OVER THAT! THAT'S SUPER COOL, BUT... FUCKING HOW!? Anyway... Aragami can eat nuclear explosions, so that means they can straight up eat energy! So... they might just be able to nom the "fuck you to oblivion" blasts and then get them themselves.
As for the Warp... the Warp warps stuff, it's kind of in the name. Orks can fuck shit up with shitty weapons because they THINK their weapons are good, because they use the Warp to warp reality.
So... the Warp Demons could probably just go "abrakadabra alakazam you cannot win because you can't do shit now" or something.
Then again... Aragami can eat energy... they can probably eat the Warp and then get Warp powers...
Maybe the Tyranids? No, that won't work at all. Oracle Cells don't have DNA or RNA of any kind, so the Tyranids can't get anything other than pure mass from them... and if they do that then they've just given the Oracle Cells an all you can eat buffet.
You see why the Aragami are overpowered as fuck? It's one thing when they can just eat matter and only matter. You can't use guns and shit against them because they'll adapt and then eat your shit and get your shit.
But they can also eat energy... Dragon Ball Z can't even beat Aragami! They'll just eat a Kamehameha and begin shooting them back! And Oracle Cells cannot be killed other than by other Oracle Cells (and BOR Parasites apparantly).
Oh fuck... I've just had a look at this response of mine... it's long.
      Long Man Bad.
I'm too lazy to shorten it all, fuck it.
TL;DR: I'm sad now. Aragami are cool. They murder Warhammer 40K fuck you nerds.

But you can still kill Revenants by stabbing them in the heart. This weakness doesn't exist in the Lost because the BOR Parasite is fully inside each individual cell, meaning there isn't any kind of "hit the weak spot for critical damage" area on them.
Aragami are made of Oracle Cells, which are completely immortal and indestructible except from other Oracle Cells.
The fact that if you shot a Revenant in the heart with a normal gun it would kill them permanently (in Code Vein this is deemed an actual threat to a Revenant's life) shows that BOR Parasites are not any type of Aragami or Oracle Cell.

Like seriously, when things suddenly turned into attack on titan with the red mist wall protecting people from monster I was like "wtf? did I miss the part where they explain what those things are?".
On the one hand I kinda like the confusion the game puts you in sometime, forcing you to try to puzzle things together just like your character puzzles his lost memories.

I have completed the game a couple of times now but I was always left feeling like I was missing a part of the puzzle, and of course that is because I haven't watched God Eater. I will try to watch it now that I know it shares a universe with Code Vein. As for your reason for not wanting to play Dark Souls or Sekiro I share exactly the same thought. Therefore when, by mere coincidence, Code Vein was suggested to me on Steam I immediately added it to my Wish List but when I saw the Character Creator I had to buy it. And I am so happy I did. The game is awesome.

    • @xuanathan

In Dark Souls 1 you don’t really have a reason to fight, its more about atmosphere and adventure, with a few fun and quirky characters, as well as some gloomy or evil ones as well.
      Dark Souls 2 I haven’t played.
Dark Souls 3 is probably the most anime feeling souls game, it has 4 main villains to beat, it has waifus, and you have a clear goal: get the remains of the lords and fuel the age of fire with them.
For what its worth, Code Vein definitely takes a lot of inspo from Dark Souls 3, having a large beautiful city/cathedral with multiple bosses and an interval stage with a great boss fight at the end. The whole successor and Silva thing was very similar to the lords of Cinder and Soul of Cinder. The combats way faster. The character customiser is actually fun to use and it has lots of options. Code Vein has better character design, while Dark Souls has better combat and worldbuilding. Their music is equal in my opinion, and making builds is a blast in both.
